Osama Bin Laden no longer Most Wanted: he’s “deceased”

President Obama: “Justice has been served.”

Osama Bin Laden, the architect of the 9-11 hijackings that killed almost 3,000 New Yorkers, was gunned down in a firefight with a U.S. Navy SEAL team, crack commandos that swooped in via helicopters after a tip from a “U.S” asset had apparently pinpointed his hiding place in a mansion outside Islamabad, Pakistan, according to President Barack Obama and our military sources.

“Justice has been done,” declared President Obama who detailed a secret CIA-lead operation he ordered to kill or capture Bin Laden once his hiding place could be confirmed. He said after the gunfight, the U.S. team transported Bin Laden’s body back to Aghanistan for forensic identification.

This is the kind of dangerous, risky operation U.S. Navy SEALS are trained to do, sweet revenge after the savage ambush of a SEAL team in the mountains of Afghanistan several years ago, and almost 10 years of frustration in the hunt for Bin Laden, a world wide symbol of anti-U.S. terrorism.

Before Obama made the announcement, U.S. forces had to confirm they had actually killed the FBI’s most wanted terrorist with a $25 million reward on his head. Ah, the preening showboat pastor threatening to burn the Koran conjured flashbacks as a former CNN embed in Iraq with my Facebook friend, Rey Naravis, brave young (ex) Marine who did three tours and often reminded yours truly to keep his head down while traveling with the 2nd LAR in Nasirya.

Some folks just don’t get it, he was saying, how bad guys invoke the Koran to justify taunting the Great Satan, brainwashed believers putting their own at risk.

Ray’s note reminded me of the night 500 pound bombs shook the ground along the Euphrates, softening up the fedayeen who opened fire from the mosque across the river. What were thinking? Maybe, hah, hah, can’t touch us because it’s just plain un-American to fire on a place of worship, right?

The Putnam County Sheriff’s office took a swipe at Misty Croslin’s attorney Tuesday for revealing what his client told investigators happened inside Ronald Cummings trailer the night she reported his five year old daughter missing: that her Tennesee cousin had come looking for a machine gun and when he couldn’t find it, got angry, “roughed up Misty, sexually groped her,” then tossed Haleigh into a black bag and left.
