Howard K. Stern Outside Court Monday After Verdict

A coroner’s jury in the Bahamas looking into the death of Anna Nicole Smith’s son, Daniel, declared Monday the 20 year old died of “non-dependent drug use,” in other words, an accidental overdose, ruling no further criminal investigation necessary.
The verdict certainly exonerates Anna Nicole’s long time companion Howard K. Stern of any wrong-doing. “There was never any evidence to suggest Howard did anything wrong,” said popular Bahamas talk show host Lincoln Bain in an exclusive telephone interview after sitting in on court Monday. Actor Heath Ledger died of an accidental prescription drug overdose of painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety meds, according the New York City medical examiner.
“Mr. Heath Ledger died as a result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine,” said Ellen Borakove, the department spokeswoman, in a statement issued Wednesday morning. “We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications.” Read the rest of this entry »
