In two suicide notes released by police Monday in Tarpon Springs, Florida, Deborah Jeane Palfrey tells her mother and sister she’s sorry, but sees suicide as the only “exit strategy” after she was convicted as the so called “D.C. Madam.”
She sounds bitter about the “modern day lynching,” as she termed her prosecution and convicition, and was not optimistic about what she expected would be a long prison term at her sentencing on July 24. She tells her family her late father will lead her “into the light,” and expects to see them on “the other side.”

Gov. Spitzer’s Call Girl Galpal Kristen Makes Cover of Girls Gone Wild Video

A day after offering a call girl-rocker-MySpace queen Ashley Alexander Dupre $1 million to do a Girls Gone Wild video and tell her x-rated side of the scandal that brought down Gov. Elliot Spitzer, GGW yanked its offer.

In the annals of mea culpas, it doesn’t come close to the classic, all-time tear-choked “I Have Sinned!” apology at the pulpit by Rev. Jimmy Swaggart before announcing a brief exit from his Baton Rouge ministry 20 years ago after dallying with a prostitute on Airline Highway in New Orleans.
I was there in the pews, a reporter awe-struck at the heavenly drama, heart-rending and heart-breaking for his flock. Geraldo was in the balcony, autographing Bibles. He saw it, too.
”I HAVE SINNED OH LORD!”
As Swaggart looked skyward, some marveled he must have had an onion in his hankie to bring on such tears.
Spitzer could have used an onion Tuesday as he announced he was stepping down as New York’s governor, his pledge to clean up corruption cut short by a predilection for pricey prostitutes exposed in a federal affadavit, a penchant he shared with Swaggart, who shopped for his favorite $20 varietals along seedy strips where motels rented by the day, or the hour. My name is Elliot (but you can call me ”John” ) Spitzer learned all about prostitutes as New York Attorney General in 2004, when the prosecutor braved the bullets of sin to bust a multi-million dollar operation of high priced escorts he called “nothing more than a prostitution ring, and now its owners and operators will be held accountable.”
Why am I thinking, “I bet he wishes he’d never said that.”
Now, the ex-AG turned New York Governor joins a long line of politicians, public figures and moral crusaders (against corporate corruption, in his case) who rode a squeeky clean image to power and fame, then crashed in a flameout of hypocrisy.
While not charged with any crime, a law enforcement official told The New York Times Spitzer was “Client #9″ described in a 55 page federal arrest warrant obtained by The Bald Truth (see next page) that describes an alleged escapade with a prostitute named “Kirsten” who took a train from New York to meet the New York governor at a Washington, D.C. hotel.
