A long-time O.J. Simpson insider and former manager who claims he heard Simpson confess to killing his estranged wife and Ron Goldman, says the ex-football star described Nicole Brown Simpson opening the door that bloody night in 1994 with a large knife in her hand – the mystery murder weapon that was never found.
As someone who covered the trial and knew how frustrated LAPD homicide detectives became as they hunted for the mystery knife, I found that to be the most compelling detail in Mike Gilbert’s book, “How I Helped O.J. Get Away With Murder: The Shocking Inside Story of Violence, Loyalty, Regret and Remorse” (Regnery Publishing, 232 pages, $27.95). It went on sale Monday. Read the rest of this entry »

A daughter’s suicide, a mother’s anguish, millions in taxpayer dollars down the rathole to investigate what many call a victimless crime…

We sat glued to the monitor in the CNN studios, ear piece in place, ready for a Nancy Grace grenade when the new mother of twins softened her voice to ask another mother, Beth Twitty, what she made of her three year journey to learn what happened to her daughter in Aruba, now that prime suspect Joran Van der Sloot had confessed on a hidden camera that he was with Natalie Holloway when she died in May 2005. Joran van der Sloot, once a suspect in the Natalie Holloway vanishing, says the missing Alabama cheerleader fell unconscious after they had sex on an Aruban beach, and a friend dumped her body at sea.
But he feels no remorse, according to our translation of a Dutch TV sting that aired Sunday night in Holland. “I haven’t lost one night’s sleep over it,” he tells an undercover reporter.
Three years after the blond teenager went missing on a high school senior trip, a hidden camera for Dutch television captured Joran’s casual conversation on a videotape we had translated into English late Sunday. Now in college in Holland, Joran is speaking to a man he thinks is a pal, but who actually worked for acclaimed Dutch crime reporter Peter R. de Vries. Read the rest of this entry »
