Exclusive: Misty Croslin’s Bad Memory
Art Harris Exclusive: Misty Croslin on where Haleigh’s body was tossed
By Art Harris, The Bald Truth, (c) www.artharris.com, all rights reserved
By my count, Misty Cummings has flunked four lie detector tests, an initial test by the PCSD, a polygraph by Texas Equusearch, a layered voice analysis by investigator T.J. Ward, and the secret police polygraph we broke here at The Bald Truth that detectives were rooting for her to pass, or at least not fail “miserably,” according to my sources close to the case.
As veteran prosecutors tell me, nuggets of truth can be found even in the yarns of tattletale tellers, and that’s the challenge faced by the embattled investigators with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, FDLE and saavy Florida State Attorney homicide prosecutors based in St. Augustine as they struggle to find a case, any case, that can be made against whoever kidnapped and killed little Haleigh.
The drug trafficking charges against Cummings, Misty and Tommy Croslin appear to be such slam dunks–all caught by hidden police undercover camera –that Tommy has plead no contest and awaits sentencing Aug. 6, Ronald has agreed to plead to three of five charges with sentencing delayed until after Misty’s trial, to ensure continued cooperation, in the drug case and the murder mystery of his missing five year old daughter, Haleigh. But he may not have to testify against his ex-wife for trafficking.
The Bald Truth has learned exclusively Misty Croslin aims to plead no contest to her drug charges Aug. 23 when the so called ringleader is scheduled to go on trial for trafficking pain kllers in Putnam County Circuit court . “Ronald’s case has no bearing on our case,” her attorney, Robert Fields, tells me in an exclusive interview, dismissing her as the main brain behind the drug operation.
“She’s hardly Ma Barker, or the Bonnie in Bonnie and Clyde,” he tells me, scoffing at the notion of Misty as ringleader of the gang that couldn’t deal straight. “She’s told all she knows and I believe her, whether they do or not.”
Yet big holes in the story remain. Like Misty’s recent trip to the Shell Harbor boat ramp. As news choppers whirred overhead, she did her walk and talk with detectives down memory lane. Investigators wanted to make sure she could identify the dock as the same one she’d confided brother Tommy Croslin had described as Haleigh’s dumping off place…the spot he’s said cousin Joe Overstreet took him to get rid of the body, sources close to the case tell me.
It was a familiar spot to Joe, family members tell me. In an exclusive interview with The Bald Truth, Hank Croslin says he’s fished off the dock with Joe, Ronald and Tommy, just down the road from the house where the family once lived, and where he says he once heard Joe remark it would be a good place to get rid of a body, a river aswirl with fast currents and ravenous ‘gators.
According to private investigator Steve Brown, former FBI agent who now works for Tommy Croslin’s attorney, James Werter, his client has no recollection of Joe actually dumping the body, just carrying it from the van towards the dock.
In an exclusive interview, Brown tells The Bald Truth that Tommy claims he was high on Xanex, floating in and out of awareness that night, only later recalling the boat ramp he showed investigators as the place Joe drove him in the van he’d borrowed from brother Timmy Croslin and his wife, Chelsea. So police searched, only divers never did find a body.
Sources close to Croslin tell me investigators want him to know they are not pleased his so called leads went nowhere, that he’d be wise to dig deeper and share further. Croslin claims he’s given up all he’s got.
While police maintain the Haleigh Cumming’s homicide investigation is kept separate from the drug trafficking cases against the same players they believe have knowledge of both, with the missing five year old’s case files kept in a room all its own, the walls are thin, with officials deftly and relentlessly using the trafficking charges, and the specter of long prison terms, to try to leverage information about Haleigh.
“The Haleigh Cummings investigation is still very active and we still have guys assigned to it, looking at every angle,” says PCSD spokesman Lt. Johnny Greenwood in a Monday interview with The Bald Truth.
As an accused drug trafficker arrested in January with Ronald Cummings, sister Misty and others, Tommy Croslin says he’s been leaned on hard for Haleigh tidbits, along with the whole clan, complaining to his lawyer that it’s been hinted he might do well to worry about getting a little lethal injection one day if he doesn’t keep dishing. He’s not been charged in Haleigh’s murder, and says he had nothing to do with harming the child.
No rules bar investigators from lying to a suspect in the high stakes game good cop, bad cop. But lawyers can draw the line, as Croslin’s did when James Werter filed a complaint charging Putnam County Sheriff’s detectives with unconstitutional behaviour when they quizzed his client inside their jail without counsel. The sheriff didn’t take it lightly and fired back.
“We filed a motion to quash his motion,” Lt. Greenwood tells me, “then his attorney called us and said he’d drop all his motions as long as we contacted him before we interviewed” Croslin. I’m told the deal is no more police chit-chats with Tommy unless Werter is there.
As for Tommy, despite earlier claims he was at Ronald Cummings trailer at 10 p.m. (a timeline he now claims he made up to get out of jail on earlier gun theft charges), that original time line is highly unlikely, Brown tells me.
“Tommy had three kids at the house,” he tells The Bald Truth. “His wife, Lindsay, didn’t get home from nursing school until about 10:30 p.m. that night (Feb. 9). So it had to be after that.”
Sources close to the official probe say police have yet to buy Tommy’s timeline flip flop, and have yet to rule out the original 10 p.m. trailer drop-by … But what if Tommy was just scouting then, doing a quick reconn, banged on the door, peaked in the window, as he’s said, and felt the coast was clear, then returns later?
However it went down, Brown tells me Tommy claims Joe called to say he was picking him up to go to the trailer, with guns and theft on his mind, specifically a vintage World War II machine gun, fully automatic. Ronald had showed it it off about a week earlier over beers Chez Cummings. If he let them touch it, as I’m told, might their prints still be on it if it’s ever found? Might such a piece of evidence be used to shore up Tommy and Misty’s dashed credibility to back up their story, maybe lead to the arrest of a Tennessee cousin?
“I don’t know about any machine gun like that,” Terry Shoemaker tells me. If he did have a fully automatic weapon, and admitted it, that raises possible federal gun charges and the specter of ATF agents joining the swarm. Others insist Cummings had it.
As for Overstreet, he denies any wrongdoing, maintains his innocence and remains uncharged. But a week after Cummings accused him of stealing another gun that Ronald insisted Misty keep under her pillow for protection, Joe was reported to be seething, with Ronald revenge on his mind.
That first missing gun sparked what the Croslins have described to The Bald Truth as a feverish hunt, with sister in law Chelsea leading the backyard search when cousin Joe was visiting. They looked everywhere, then peeked inside a drainage pipe that ran under the driveway, and voila, there it was.
That’s the same story the whole Croslin family has told me on different occasions, describing an ugly showdown in the living room between Joe and Ronald that father Hank Croslin had to break up.
As for Ronald, the Croslins tell me he seemed content just to get his gun back, but Joe felt humiliated, and vowed to get even. Only no one thinks anything of it until a week later when Tommy claims Joe calls him: he’s on his way to pick him up in the blue van he’d loaned brother Timmy and Chelsea. Ronald is at work; the coast is clear. Showtime.
To hear Misty and Tommy tell it, Joe wants to steal the machine gun, a prized possession. Tommy claims he just wanted to shoot it, maybe kill a deer. One source tells me Misty was in on it, and aimed to get a cut if it was sold, that she was tired of so many guns in the house.
Ronald loved guns, and often brandished one to bolster his image as a Satsuma gangster he tarnished at times by sticking a gun barrel in his mouth, as all three of exes have described to me. Sometimes he threatens to kill himself, sometimes he just plays Ronald Roulette, to manipulate and intimidate, they say. Remember the assault rifle scene in the trailer Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch told us about?
One Cummings ex recalls how he once spun the cylinder of a pistol, then popped it in his mouth.
Click.
Whew.
As for the last night Haleigh was seen alive, when Joe pulls up to pick up Tommy, Lindsay is asleep with the kids; Tommy is high on pills. He climbs into the van and heads to the trailer, probably about midnight. That’s the yarn Steve Brown tells me he’s been able to piece together from talks with Croslin.
What happens next is sketchy.
However the alleged co-conspirators now recall their presumed Satsuma deal memo, there’s no gun. Ronald has removed it from the house, and I’m told, given it to a biker relative for safe keeping.
After looking all over the house, and finding no gun, Misty claims Joe goes ballistic and grabs Haleigh; she dives under the overs, clinging to Ronald’s son, Junior.
According to her lawyer Robert Fields, she says Joe threatened to kill her and her family if she breathed a word. Terrified, she hears the van door slam from under the covers. Haleigh is gone forever, and all police have to go on is the memory of flawed, drug-addled minds, as search for Haleigh Cummings turns into a childhunt nightmare.
With Joe at the wheel, Tommy rides down to the river. “Tommy says he was all drugged up,” Brown tells me, “that he just saw Joe take Haleigh to the dock, but he had his head in his hands and wasn’t watching and didn’t hear her go in. He says Joe said nothing to him afterwards, except threatening to kill his wife, Lindsay, kill his kids and others in the family.”
Overstreet maintains his innocence, saying he’s just a convenient family scapegoat.
Although police maintain Misty Croslin knows more than she’s revealing about what they now call a murder, albeit one without a body, her lawyer, Robert Fields, tells me she’s told all she knows, that she’s been squeezed, and squeezed again, like a Florida orange with not a drop of juice left, just pulp that investigators are still calling pulp fiction.

Misty is confused, wasn’t paying attention? I think the whole explanation above is close to what happened but Tommy was on Xanax, that I doubt, I think something stronger than Xanax, isn’t that an anti-anxiety med? To think he just sat there and knew what was going to happen is unfathomable. HaLeigh must have already been dead. I think it is the wrong dock, too. It must be and Tommy knows. There would be no way to throw something that heavy, tied to a cinderblock. It would have to be dropped.
Art, why hasn’t Joe taken a LDT to clear his name? What reason could there be for that?
July 20th, 2010 at 5:59 pm
Thank you for the update, Art.
I am just curious why Ronald can get charged for only 2 drug busts. It is all video taped. Is he giving them info about the drug dealers he buys from?
Tommy’s atty said that Tommy and Joe did not go to the trailer to retrieve a gun.So I think they went there to help get rid of her little body.
Why would Ronald call Tommy that night and why did her put a beheaded rat in Tommy’s mailbox? Sound like he just wants him to keep quiet.

Thank you so much for sharing this info and providing a current update/insight into this continuing tragedy.
Great article, thank you!!!

Finally, your back! I was hoping you would have some infomation on the oil “spill” but I’m glad to see some things are moving right along. But not really cuz Haleigh is still missing and a mystery that seems to be impossible to solve. And just to say the least, they all are lying. I believe iIF it was Joe the cousin that took her, why would he be back @ the house putting up poster or whatever he was doing to “help”. I think he is in on it but not the one to blame. I fell like everybody is covering up for Ron cuz he is the “ring leader” which is really making others do the deed for him so he don’t look like the bad guy. I also think that it was an accident of some kind that happen to that precious lil girl but they didn’t have to do her like that, just to not face their reality. But they are right where they belong, and the angels with Haleigh wherever shE
July 20th, 2010 at 10:05 pm
That poor baby girl…it just makes sick. To think that it was all over guns and getting even makes it even worse.
July 20th, 2010 at 10:05 pm
SHE MAY BE!!!
July 20th, 2010 at 10:23 pm
HEY ART!! What a story! Little Jr would of heard Haleigh screaming! What about Mistys phone going off at 8:30pm. Haleigh was alledgedly sleeping at 8:30pm per Misty. How about the made up beds that did not look slept in? Much less messed up due to the fact Misty and Jr. were huddled together underneath. Misty also says Ronald played Ronald roulette to?
Did LE go to the biker relatives home and get the gun alledgedly that Ronald put there for safe keeping? Too many holes in this story. No wonder LE does not buy it.
Welcome back Art
July 20th, 2010 at 10:44 pm
OOPs Art I see where you stated it was never produced. I guess the LE cannot go and get it if they cannot find it and Ronald denies he has one.
July 20th, 2010 at 11:19 pm
So it’s likely Misty will plead no contest. I heard a while back that the judge had given her more time to try and work out a plea deal. Sounds like she gave them nothing and is basically pleading guilty. With a no contest plea that means no jury trial? What time she gets is up to the judge? Please correct me if i am wrong. I wonder if it’s the same judge that gave Hope 15 yrs for one count. Misty must be gambling on being tried as a juvenile offender. As for the Haleigh case, just about everything TC and MC has said shows they did indeed have involvement, or at the least know what happened. If it gets to the point where LE cannot charge them with Haleigh’s death, there must be a dozen other offenses to charge them with such as misleading an investigation for example. Stack on the charges and push for consecutive sentences. IMO
July 20th, 2010 at 11:30 pm
I am glad to have an update Art, seems Nancy Grace just dropped this case. Thank you.
July 20th, 2010 at 11:38 pm
So, if Misty pleads no contest there will be no need for Ronald to testify correct? Wish i knew more about the law! If Misty knew Ron was going to testify if there was a trial, could it be he had something on her that she doesn’t want revealed? With all the video evidence it has always seemed odd that he was able to plea deal to testify against her. Haleigh was his daughter and he still refuses to believe she was involved, or thinks that if she was, she was forced to. How could this guy possibly care that much about her having known her for such a short period of time? He seems to be making excuses for her even if it is proven she was involved with the death of his daughter. If that’s the case i can’t see him doing anything to help lock her up for whatever sentence she will get. Most people in his shoes would have nothing but contempt for her given what happened but not Ronald, he abruptly married her, divorced her, and still continued to hang out with her. I wonder why.

Great story Art!
July 21st, 2010 at 12:04 am
This enrire case is so messed up I cant even keep up with what really happened and what lies have been told and who was where and whatever. I feel so bad for poor HaLeigh, can you just imagine what her life was like if it was anything like the night she came up missing, all the people around her were either on drugs, or carrying guns or drunk or something, Im surprised either of those kids survived as long as they did, and I dont care who did what and who knows what, thery should all be locked up for the rest of their lives for allowing these kids to have to live the way they did. Its so sad… God Bless HaLeigh and may we one day know what happened to her!!
July 21st, 2010 at 12:19 am
About the prized assault rifle, Ron denies owning one? I believe he had it. IF he did give it to someone to hide it, he had to know someone was going to attempt to steal it right? What a guy. Was this gun really the thing that set all the events of that night in motion, did Haleigh see JO with it(if it was in the home) and was he crazed enough to kill her because of it? This is what TC and MC want people to believe when they aren’t denying everything. Why bring Joe into it? Convenient because of what happened the week before or was he there? I had a feeling whichever one took Haleigh took her to a place familiar to them, and now i read they knew this area because they use to live close to it. Not surprised. After so much time i’m not surprised her body wasn’t there but there were cinder blocks found. One thing seems obvious though, there’s no way either Misty or Tommy got “confused” about the docks, they knew the area too well to make that kind of mistake. JMO

Art,
I am a little shocked about misty pleading out. Thought she would take the entrapment defense. If Fields doesn’t feel like it would work based on what he knows about the evidence, maybe he will get some lieniency in sentencing.
Yes, I have made fun of your head in the past. Just one guy kicking another guy in the nuts.
I’m sure im not the first nor the last. You pull it off better than I would. My head has more bumps than a topographical map of Colorado.

Wow what an update! I guess you have brought us all the latest reports. What a great job. Thanks Art for connecting all the dots ! ! ! ! !
July 21st, 2010 at 4:35 am
Hey Art
WOW! Great article with a lot of info. and a very good read! One thing, that really sticks out, is that cousin Joe is still not charged with anything???? IMO that is very strange. At one time, I believe I read, that there were a lot of problems in the LE department, with some crooked cops, drugs, etc. Due to that, I find the LE less believable, in fact, I tend to believe the Croslins more!!! Ronald Cummings knew a lot of officers and the ‘inside’ story, within the dept.
I don’t know why, but I really tend to believe Misty – probably due to her young age, and also being totally controlled by Ronald. She’s had a seemingly very difficult life, and thus, it continues..with the drug charges. But, Misty is definately not the mastermind of that whole debacle! IMO Ronald is the mind behind the drug activity.
I don’t understand pleas of no contest, isn’t that the same thing as pleading guilty? No one seems to be pleading not guilty, as seems to be the norm, even for murderers, and other deviants of society.
I’m sure I have more ???’s on your most excellent article, Art, do you may hear from me again. I hear your groan!
I do feel that the extremely high # of years charged for the small amount of drugs involved to be utter ridiculous. It has been my understanding, that the jails were full to overcrowding. It’s only prescription drugs, not like crack, cocaine, etc. I live in Canada, and really doubt that the penalties would be so high, for such a small amount of drugs.
Luv ya
Spiked

Hmmmm…that’s the way I believe it happened!!!!
Glad you’re back, Art.
Question: When did Misty find out that Ronald was working overtime that night?
July 21st, 2010 at 12:55 pm
Art,
A couple of questions:
1) How does Steve Brown who was working on behalf of the he Sheffields, now work for Tommy Croslin’s lawyer? This does not seem ethnical.
2) If James Werter no longer represents TC on the Haleigh situation, then why is his “investigator leaking information?
I do not think for one moment that JO killed Haleigh.
I think that Haleigh was killed by Misty in her drug induced states for being “difficult”, and she called TC and JO to help her dispose of Haleigh.
OR creepy Tommy Croslin and Misty was caught by Haleigh doing the dirty, and Haleigh threatened to tell daddy, either Tommy or Misty killed her to keep her from telling Ronald, they were both drugged to the gills.
Ronald is a father who has made some very questionable decisions about the environment and people surrounding young Haleigh and Jr, however I do not think that Ronald has anything to do with his daughters disappearance/possible death.
If it was as simple as Joe did it, the truth would have come out long ago, this family is habitual liars, and I feel that we might never find Haleigh.
July 21st, 2010 at 1:02 pm
Hello Art, Thanks for the update and recap.
July 21st, 2010 at 1:52 pm
Okay, so the story sounds believeabe but still is questionable. I think the drugs are only part of the reason the truth is not forthcomming. All this time and still the answers are not 100% truthful. What a shame, poor little innocent Haleigh. Tommy…. what if someone took one of your children, just what would you do? The thought of someone putting a body in alligator infested waters is sickening. These people all need to pay dear. Jail is probalby too good of a place for any of them. Art do you ever visit anyone of them (or try to) in jail? I just can’t belive that people of this caliber are able to hide the truth for this long. How can they be content to just hang out in jail? And then there is Joe Overstreet, do you know much about him? Does he have a job? What about Hank & Lisa? Thanks Art, I know you’re trying hard to get answers for us and it’s appreciated!
July 21st, 2010 at 10:43 pm
Excellent title…glad you’re alright.
July 22nd, 2010 at 8:35 pm
Art, thanks for this update. I’ve missed your updates.
July 22nd, 2010 at 9:18 pm
I think before they all go to trial more interesting, incriminating facts will appear..Same players, different facts, or scenarios..I still maintain RC knows exactly what happened to his daughter..Wasn’t it G’Ma Flo who mentioned Misty and Jr. hiding under the covers while Joe took Haleigh? I don’t think Joe was involved..I think Tommy is covering for Misty, and Misty is covering for Ron..Together they cooked up a tale blaming Joe. Art, have you talked to G’Ma Flo recently?
She seems to have been silenced..What’s the latest with Hank Sr.? TIA
July 23rd, 2010 at 12:37 am
There is so much here to comment on..where to start? Misty. On video it’s always “i don’t know anything”, “theres nothing to break me on” etc. When talking to LE it’s “Joe and Tommy came searching for the gun,he grabbed Haleigh and then i heard the van door close”, then she tells hank “i’m not sure if Joe did anything, you know, cops tell you stuff and then you believe it”. What a bunch of BS, and those are just a few examples. Where is her minute by minute detailed explanation of exactly what happened? When did they get there? Did she let them in? What reason would Joe have to take Haleigh? Why didn’t she call 911 immediately? Was she awake when they got to the MH? Was Haleigh hurt at the MH? If she can’t answer these questions (just to name a few) than as LE have said, there is likely a fragment of truth in her statements, so which parts are true? JO and TC were there? The van was there? To save space i’ll keep it to these questions about her admissions. So, if she does plead no contest does it mean no jury trial? If so, her lawyer must think she will be found guilty by a jury on all counts. If a judge decides, he or she might go lighter on her or even sentence her as a juvenile. I say once she is sentenced she should go directly into GP, no special treatment like Casey Anthony is getting. I won’t even get started on that one! Just wish her trial would start sooner.
July 23rd, 2010 at 3:30 am
I think all they can think is Misty is the guilty one in the dissapperence of the little girl and in the drug deals. What abou Ronald he was sleeping with a minor and was selling the drugs and knows the ropes very well. I dont think he should get a plee he is just a guilty.
July 23rd, 2010 at 9:52 am
Art, I’m reminded of the phrase, “don’t shoot the messenger” so I’ll try to be kind! If I paid to go see this “movie” I’d demand my money back. The motive is Joe felt humilitated because the gun he stole from Ronald was found, and good ole Ronald just wanted his gun back so he never felt the urge to get even? In a million years, this wouldn’t be Ronald’s reaction.
Next, we have to believe that Tommy is so drugged up that he doesn’t really know what happened, but he’s perfectly capable of easing himself out of bed in order to not wake Lindsy, dress himself, and have the sense to be waiting outside for Joe to pick him up! Then, Joe brings him back home, he undresses, climbs into bed with Lindsy, again not waking Lindsy, and sleeps like a baby till they get the call that Haleigh’s missing. (around 4am) Tommy just wanted to shoot the gun, or kill a deer, and that’s the reason he went along with Joe? You would get up out of bed in the middle of the night for this? And you are so wiped out on drugs you can’t keep your eyes open? Whatever happened to Tommy taking this story back? We heard him on tape, saying it was all a lie, but no mention from LE about this key point. Stranger yet, that is the last tapes LE released. Why doesn’t LE want us to know what Tommy had to say to his family about why he told this story? Of all the stories this gang has told, this one is the least believable. I don’t buy the story that Misty was asleep and someone came in and took Haleigh, but it is million times more believable than this bunch of bull! I’d come closer to believing OJ and Robert Blake are innocent, than believing this story comes anywhere near being the truth!
July 23rd, 2010 at 9:59 am
Wouldn’t you just love to hear what Mark Furhman has to say about this case? I think he would blow this case wide open! Why doesn’t Leonard Padilla throw some money his way instead of throwing it at the Satsuma Hillbillies?
July 23rd, 2010 at 3:58 pm
See, the part that makes no sense to me is this: if Misty was so afraid of cousin Joe, why did she tell the world that he was a child molester? Isn’t that how child molesters get their victims to keep quiet? By threatening them and their families? So how was this threat different?
July 23rd, 2010 at 6:48 pm
I wanna know why the judge that gave that creep ronald custody is not being fired and why that gradmother ronalds mother is not being held accountable for putting her grandaughter in danger by helping him get custody knowing all the guns and drugs around that house SHE KNOWS he is a DRUGGIE Hell she looks like a druggie except since case she seems to have cleaned her scraggly self up a bit..hopefully she dies of shame what a creep for a grandma what they did to that mother of haighlee and those kids they dont’ deserve mercy they deserve jail Chrystal should go after that judge BIG TIME

Okaloosa–
Don’t follow your Steve Brown logic…Crystal has her son; she’s fine, relatively speaking and we’ve got to believe JR is safer…How is speaking on the record with me exclusively “leaking…?” James Werter speaks with me, as do all the lawyers and family members because they believe we try to be fair and accurate…I share a couple of your gut feelings, but gut feelings don’t make a criminal case without evidence. SMITHERS–A doc on Nancy Grace Sat night will talk about what Xanex does–can wipe out your memory if you take enough. Just like my police sources were saying. Helloooooo. Art

SJ, Cynthia Morgan, Penny Silvia, I totally agree with you. Every word. I just hope the whole truth comes out one day. It sure is being guarded now, and no where near what we are being led to believe.
July 24th, 2010 at 7:28 pm
Just wanted to make a comment from personal observations. I have a family member with chronic pain who has been taking the drugs that this group has been arrested for selling. After years of use he can take dosages that would kill any one of us and still function to the extent most people wouldn’t realize he is medicated. Add one xanex to the mix and he is in the “ozone”. You don’t have to take a lot of xanex to be “out there” if mixing it with something like oxycodone or Loratab, the synergistic effect is unbelievable….of course enough xanex alone will put you out there too.

HAPPY–
Great questions…so many flip flops, where to begin…but I think Robert Fields is referring to her last general version: Tommy and Joe come over to steal gun, it’s not there, making Joe mad, takes something else dear to Ronald. Misty in fear, hides under covers, quacking in her slippers, says Joe threatened to killed her and rest of family…Tommy picks it up from there…Interesting that every Croslin has converted to that story, pretty much. If she pleads NC, no trial. Skip to mitigation testimony and throw herself at the foot of the cross, or judge…Tx Art

Rose–
Before he went to jail, Misty’s Dad was telling me there are so many dealers in Satsuma, Palatka and nearby, you could close your eyes and walk into one. Drugs here, drugs there, drugs everywhere. Faking pain, or using real pain to profit, folks get prescriptions from their docs, and hit the streets to sell the pills in an epidemic of prescription street sales and addiction. Florida state attorney has declared war on illegal prescription drug sales…and the Croslins are just a few of the statistic…Art

Art – hasn’t Misty recanted her latest story?
July 24th, 2010 at 11:59 pm
I have said this from the start and nothing has changed my mind. Misty just came back from some serious partying. She had been fighting with Ron since he left to go to work. She admitted that she did not want to take care of the angels. It has been noted that loads of phone calls were going back and forth between her and Ron when he was at work and then all of a sudden Misty turned off her phone. Haleigh being the age she is was probably jumping around, maybe not ready to go to bed and got on Misty’s last nerve. Misty lost it and let her anger that she had with Ron out on Haleigh. Strangled her to death? Smothered her to death? Either Misty called Joe and her Brother to come and help her dispose of the body. In fear of what Ron would do to her and her family when he realized his daughter was missing. I also do tend to believe Misty was jealous of the attention Ron gave his daughter which did not make it too hard for her to kill her. To make a long story short, Misty used her cousin to do her dirty work. The more I think about it, I doubt her Brother was at the scene. He has children and I do not think he could handle the situation. Cousin Joe looks to be the type that would help Misty and she probably promised to get some guns for him in the long run. I do not think anyone killed Angel Haleigh but Misty. Her family knows but they do not want to see her go down for murder charges. That is just what I see from sitting on the bleachers and looking down at the stadium.
July 25th, 2010 at 2:15 am
sunshine–excellent logic. art

If Ron is not involved in her death, wouldn’t he be wondering about Misty? He said he would kill who ever took Haleigh.
He has abused Misty in the past, so why wouldn’t he do somthing to make her talk? Really make her scared.
I don’t think Ron is so innocent in this.

Art, I did not mean that your exclusive interview was leaking information. You do a good job reporting and you are my main source of reliable information.
I am confused, and would appreciate your help in understanding. Who is Tommy’s lawyer regarding matters related to Haleigh?
As I understand it…SB was employed by CS to help find out what happened to Haleigh. I understand that he is a PI and can be hired by anyone. Steve Brown is also employed by James Werter, who has said that he no longer represents TC on “issues regarding Haleigh Cummings”. http://www.artharris.com/2010/04/09/exclusive-did-tommy-croslin-pass-polygraph/.
My confusion comes from knowing that it was reported JW no longer represents TC on Haleigh matters, why is SB (who works for JW) giving exclusive interviews that seem to cast TC in a role of accessory after the fact? This just benefits TC.

I have also said from the beginning, and nothing has changed my mind…that Misty Croslin is responsible for what happened to Haleigh Cummings. And I agree with Sunshine 100% up to Tommy’s involvement.
The stories released that say Cousin Joe did it lacks credibility, Misty claims she hid under the covers with Junior and covered their heads while hearing Haleigh scream is not credible.
Junior would have heard the screams. My belief is in the fact that children do not lie. Even if Junior was told to lie, he does not have the ability at age 3 to maintain a lie, the truth will come out. Junior said that he saw the couch bouncing and a man in black take his sissy away.
I do think Misty had someone in the home with her that night, whether it was someone else or TC. TC and Misty’s relationship is suspicious. It has been suggested by Lindsey Croslin …that Tommy and Misty had an incestuous relationship. Either Misty killed Haleigh out of jealousy, to get back at Ron, or Haleigh caught Misty and someone in the act and said she was going to tell.

Why do you give sunshine all the credit?
Did Misty do it or did Joe?
Does Ronald’s mother know that they did it? Little smarty-tart Misty might be able to fool the cops but I do not think she could pull that stuff on a mother-in-law.

OK: As I wrote a while back, Werter quit briefly, then signed back on, and now reps TC in all matters criminal. SB is is PI, working with JW and TC. CS and her lawyer may have been a former client. Art

It had been established that those who saw Haleigh and were at the trailer that night were:
Misty Croslin, Ronald's grandmother, Tommy Croslin, Joe Overstreet, and possibly Tommy's children…..I can understand clearing the grandmother….but why isn't Joe Overstreet in jail with the squeeze on him????

Hey Art, With all these posts, got me thinking. Joe very well could have scared the he$$ out of Misty, when Haleigh was taken! From all accounts, she was either drugged up, or coming down! In that state of mind, she would be very mixed up, and get a huge scare from his words, amplified. What do you think? I have done some drugs, in teenage years (long past), and do remember things being so real, in an unreality situation, so intensified! I don't think it would so different, stoned on prescription drugs!

Hey Art,__One thing that has been really bugging me. We all we have been told, about Joe Overstreet throwing a lot of his stuff away, while travelling back to Tn. There has been nothing told by LE about how they knew exactly where he did this, and that they went, and got these things??? What do you think?? I can't even think, of what he threw away, except bloody clothes. But, nothing has been mentioned about blood, at all!____Stay Cool!____Luv ya__Spiked

I do believe that they are doing half time and if there is any over crowding it will be earlier.
As for Misty I believe part of her story (all lies have some truth in it)
I believe joe disposed of haleigh after she overdosed on her daddys pills.
And ronald told joe if you shut this up ill give you the rifle…I would see if that has happened.
and or where it is at or id its even real.I dont think tommy was even there…till after the fact.
and I still havent read or heard what tommy meant by yeah but…….when he was talking to flo on the phone. art have you any idea yet?
