Exclusive: Wrong Dock Searched for Haleigh?

In a letter to her sister in law, Misty Croslin says police may have searched the wrong dock for Haleigh’s body, she says.
We all recall the dramatic trip to the St. John’s River, where detectives lead Croslin out to the dock, only we didn’t know why — until The Bald Truth revealed what her lawyer and family members confirm she wrote Chelsea Croslin in a recent letter from the St. John’s County Jail.

Chelsea has told me that she begged Misty to write her what really happened to Haleigh Cummings because all the conflicting stories were “tearing me apart. I felt like I was close to a nervous breakdown, so I asked her to tell me what happened, and she wrote me a two page letter that lays it all out. It made me feel much better about her and I feel she’s telling the truth.”
Her sister in law, who is married to Croslin’s other brother, Timmy, has declined to release the letter, but says she’d be willing to part with it for a reliable car to take Timmy to work and the kids to school. Her attorney confirms the letter is legitimate and that law enforcement has a copy.
But he believes Misty may be confusing the dock from the one she claims Tommy pointed out to her one day when they were walking near the water as the dock he watched cousin Joe Overstreet use to dump the body into the St. John’s River early Feb. 10, 2009. “I think the police actually have the right dock, but that Misty was confused and just didn’t remember it right, he tells me.
In the above jail video, Hank Croslin Sr. tells his daughter mistakenly that we had obtained the letter.
We did ask Chelsea for a copy, but she declined, saying she hoped to swap it for a car from bounty Hunter Leonard Padilla, so she could take husband Timmy to work and her kids to school. “I don’t want money for it, just a reliable car,” she says.

Art, I remember there was another dock that Ron, and Joe went to sometimes..I wonder if this is the dock Misty is talking about? Are we now going to have more divers searching another dock? OMG, this circus never ends…Concerning the “letter”, Chelsey needs money, and thinks the letter is worth a car..I can’t figure out why they all can’t get a job, and earn money the moral way, instead of stealing, or trying to sell a piece of paper that is probably worthless (more of Misty’s lies), and practically begging people to help them..They have a sense of entitlement, and I doubt it only started when Haleigh went missing..It’s a way of life for them…IMO Padilla is getting hit from all sides wanting a car..lol I hope he is on to their schemes, but I have a feeling he enjoys it..It may be worth searching other docks around Satsuma, but I still believe Haleigh was buried in the woods nearby..Yes, LE searched, but maybe they missed that one little secluded area..I keep waiting for the real Breaking News, and although I haven’t given up, I am becoming less hopeful every day.. It’s beyond time for closure…IMO

The cinder blocks were found during the big search. Leads me to believe they searched the right dock. An issue that has been bothering me is what could have happened to her body? The currents may not be as swift as the oceans however it is not stagnant, how far could the body/ remains have traveled?

Leonard P. stated the day Joe went back to TN he dumped some belongings in a trash can at a gas station and LE now has those belongings in their posession. Is this true, if so how did LE obtain these items? Did they follow him, or the person giving him a ride secure them?

I hope for Mistys sake she will tell the truth so she can strike a deal! This is the only way she may have an opportunity to change the direction of her life. Anyone in Mistys family if your reading this, please advise Misty to tell the truth!!!! I know she is afraid, but that is her only chance. I think you Art Harris may come closer to finding out the actual truth about what happened to Haliegh than the police will.
Shame on Chelsea for going on NG and telling everyone how much she loved Haliegh, and then be willing to exploit the child’s death for a used car!
It seems to me that Tommy’s wife,Lindsay may be the only one of the entire Croslin clan who might feel any real compassion for poor little Haliegh. I applaud her actions in filing for divorce when she realized her husband was lieng and had some involvement.

Thank you Art for keeping the media focused on what happened to this baby. I am sure without your attention, her story could’ve been lost in the headlines.
Anytime I hear of a missing child, my heart breaks but Haliegh’s story has touched me very deeply.
I pray they will find her remains and solve her murder.
I think her story has affected so many,because her little soul is not at peace.

I had the same exact thought that perhaps the wrong dock was mentioned or pointed out-I had gone onto Google Maps to see just how many ponds, etc. are around that area-quite a few, trying to find other docks, no matter how small. First they mention Pond, then they mention River-BIG difference there, but they’re ignorant kids who can’t distinguish one from the other, especially if they were all hopped up on stuff-CRS, ya know.
I think whatever happened, had to have something to do with what happened the weekend prior-Between Misty’s 3 day excursion and whatever Ronald was up to- BTW, Has it ever been established who was watching the children that weekend since Misty was MIA?

I don’t think LE is going to like that, all the rope and bricks and evidence they found was at the dock they were at. If she suposedly told her grams Flo that she was wrapped in the rope it contradicts evidence. Unless of course the rope was used on deer carcasses with Tommy and that’s how they knew it would be there.

if i were Chelsea i would take the money .i would take all the money i can because these cops are terrorizing everyone, including the family. the father cant even get a job because of this and while these people sit in jail people have to remember this is about drugs and not Haleigh. that one girl got 15 yrs ! child molesters get less time then that and its BS! the cops are good when they try and put things in peoples mouth. maybe this is why Misty is so confused and of course shes nervous and scared. she knows they would take some time off if she told them the truth . would she rather do 25 to life or a lesser time? I’m starting to believe that she doesn’t know much about hat happened.

Hi Art, I wonder how long the Croslin’s have lived in Satsuma. I would bet if they have lived there all or most of their lives they didn’t just discover the St. Johns River. I’m just saying i would bet they know the area too well to mistake docks. She makes it sound like she and Tommy just happened to be walking around and he says..oh by the way, that’s the dock i saw Joe throw Haleigh into the water from. Now to me, that doesn’t make sense. I didn’t believe it when i first heard it and i still don’t, especially 10 months after Haleigh went missing. It might be the right dock or it might not be, but i think they both know exactly what dock it was if that’s even where they (or Joe?)put Haleigh. I have tended to think they took Haleigh somewhere else because of all the damage to the van. They have mentioned Palatka(sp?) at times, how far is that from Satsuma? I hope LE found evidence to help solve this case but if they did that means ..well you know. Court dates are near, we will soon see what’s new!

Newsflash !
I read something on another site about something called a Stokes Landing, out there in Satsuma? I went and looked at the map-There IS a damn dock right on Stokes Landing. This would be the area I’m guessing this Greg guy, along with Misty and Nay Nay were partying—Ronald mentioned this…you know what they say about freudilan slips.
Any chance if this IS the dock perhaps? Was it ever checked out? Maybe it should be.

Just reading the posts here. I had to wonder too about Joe throwing all his stuff out on his way home from Florida. Why would someone do that?? And then strangely he tells LE where and they actually find his things! According to LP anyway. That does not mean they didn’t stop other places along the way, he could have discarded anything at any point along the way. That’s if what LP said was true. It’s the only time i ever heard that said.

but remember after LE brought Misty to the dock and she seen the bones when she was placed back in the police car with Tommy she seemed to be nervous from what I’ve read. One lady had a REAL GOOD POINT..How do we know..it didnt happen over the weekend that MISTY was gone??? I think Misty is innocent, I think she is NOW beyond CONFUSED..the police want some info..from her..the key?? She doesnt have ANYMORE to give them, and noone will BELIEVE her..she is scared to death, but WHY would TOMMY say that JOE did it, and was threatening them with a knife, etc. IF HE WAS NEVER REALLY WITH JOE, WHY WOULD HE SAY HE WAS??? Misty says to Hank “I don’t hate my brother.” “That never came out of my mouth.” It was like a dream. I don’t know for a 100% that Jo was there. Will this clear Tommy? No not this dock but the one Timmy showed her. Or is the one Ron showed her? Or was it the dock Jo was fishing at? Let me see how many docks are there?

A lot of people use bricks and towrope to use as a makeshift anchor, just the same as bones being found could have been pitched off from a picnic on a boat. I think they were so high they can’t distinguish anything, but bottom line, somebody in those 2 families know exactly why this happened. I still find it suspicous that one person from 1 family calls in about the van, then the call goes in about Haleigh, then there’s other cars and accidents and all kinds of shyt going on the same weekend or same night-Full moon… I find a lot of things suspicious, bottom line, no stranger took that child and Drugs are the operative word here, either owing for them, or stealing to sell them-I don’t think ol’ Ron had anything physically to do with it, but he knew something-Why the heck were they all sleeping in one bedroom? They all are responsible for this-They all knew what they were dealing with and they turned a blind eye.

Why is Crystal or any other Croslin being so concerned over Haleigh? Do not take it wrong, we all are concerned, but the family only knew the little girl for about 4 mo’s if even that long. How could they have all bonded so quickly? I think their problem lies more in the thought of someone else also being found out.
2. Do you honestly think Leonard P. or anyone else would buy them a car after the fiasco with what we heard about Lindsay and what she said about him?
They appear to be a bunch of bottom feeders, nickle and diming this tragic story while a little girl’s disappearance goes unsolved.

Here is my questions!!!! Teresa N. said (on NG) that Haleigh would not take Oxycodone because it was so bitter, she said she knew because she has taken it. WAS HER FROM HER OWN DOCTOR or DR.RON?……Why would she defend MC for so long? …… IMO it was to protect her son……Why was that house so clean (with two little kids living there)no toys or clothes laying around? IMO the Cummings and the Croslins did some heavy duty cleaning…….Why didnt RC grandma breakdown when Grandma Flo said Haleigh could have been molested by the JO and TC ( Im a gramdma and I would have)…..IMO to protect a family member……NOW FOR NANCY GRACE, SHE FINALLY DONE ME IN WHEN SHE JUMPED ON MARK K. This entire family is “playing” with the police and the public. From Granny to Misty to Tommy to Chelsea to Lisa, they are dangling information, parceling it out piecemeal, and presenting non facts as factual.
They are nothing but a bunch of uneducated, illiterate, uninformed grifters who believe that selling drugs is having a job. They are laughing at LE as they languish in jail, whining to one another, and making up stories in search of a “deal”.
Why would Misty give up any information that would more than likely ensure her remaining behind bars for the rest of her life against the chance of finding a judge who could possibly take years off her sentence due to her age?
A longshot to be sure but the truth lies between Tommy, who is fearful of losing his wife, and Misty, who is fearful of revealing her role in this mess.
Since most of what they have said so far is based on fabrication, the truth may never be known. Who could possibly take the word of any of these druggies even if they were telling the truth of that night?

I remember back when the media were allowed into the mobile home, they stated that LE was done with going over the house and the family was allowed in to clean before any camera’s were allowed in. Not sure but i think it was TN who commented on how dirty the house was and how hard they worked to get it clean enough to allow the media inside. This just explains why the home looked so clean once LE cleared the house for others to come in and that’s what we saw in tapes. Going on memory here but i do recall they did clean it up and even talked about it.

This doesn’t make much sense to me, i must be missing something. CC begs Misty to tell her what happened, she’s going to have a breakdown soon over this. So Misty writes and says she thinks they searched the wrong dock, (repeats the same story about Joe in the letter?) and that’s enough for CC to say oh ok? It was CC who Misty told to think about it and she would know, that it would hurt two people. I guess i just don’t see how the only thing different coming from Misty was she thought they were at the wrong dock just clears everything up for CC. On the other hand, i think LE should have kept the original letter and mailed the copy, they have an admission in writing from Misty stating she knows HC’s body was in the St Johns river. Wouldn’t that be a valuable piece of evidence Art?

I wasn’t ‘molested with’ the way you might think.
My brother walked in front of that ‘dart board’ just when I had finally decided it was my turn, no matter what.
And my Dad thought I did it on purpose, and as usually never listened to my side of the story.
Just like that early morn when I was supposed to be responsible enough to get a ride home.
But my parents had too, many kids.

ART HARRIS, I think you are doing a wonderful job keeping up with the information considering what you have to work with. I don’t want to bash anybody just make a comment. Please keep up the hard work because their are many people that want to see this young child put to rest along with the case. I wish I could help and I’m sure their are many other people that do too. I do have one thing to say about Teresa N. I asked my friend whom is a R.N. about the prescription that Teresa said she had taken, and my friend told me that type of medicine does not have a bitter taste unless it is chewed. She said it has a coating on it and people that abuse it chew it up to get “high” quicker. It is not a acusation against T.N. but it is something that I had on my mind since I was told this. I just thought it was worth mentioning because of the story that circulated around at one time that poor Haleigh might have mistakenly taken meds thinking it was candy.(Teresa said it had a bitter taste and Haleigh would not have taken it.)**please don’t use my e-mail name.** Thank you again Art for all the hard work.

Art, I still think you should write a book about this. I don’t get to watch NG or JVM everynight, but I do read your page whenever I can. I applaud your efforts to get to the bottom of this mess. Do you believe it will ever be solved? Do you have a time frame in mind (6 mos., a year?)Just want to say thanks for keeping us informed the way you do.

While all that stuff got stole from my jewelry box…possible worth more than I estimated…
Seems that little thief didn't get the more precious things in the bottom drawer.
A Mickey Mouse Watch, and some watch from some Nazi with a sapphire dial, and a sticker patch …one grey rare plastic of wings and a cross…cut from dead men's uniforms and such.
All they mean to me is that if it had not been for their passing I would not be here today.

I was just wondering why Ron the father of Haliegh has never taken a poly,since everyone else has taken one that was asked too.So he was at work ,and since he married Misty anyway,Now would be the time to ask him to take take a test just to see what he does know.If he was a prior drug dealerand did he have enimies,that would have done something too her maybe for revinge or money he owed them.I think the truth lies within Misty and Ron.Not saying he harmed her in any way cause I don’t think he would have hurt a hair on her head.But there are many things wrong here.

As for Nancy G…. She is doing her job, she doesn’t treat people like that, its all for ratings. She too has a boss. Her guest already know about the tough situation they are getting into when they agree to go. That was not the first or the last time that Nancy G. fired off at Mark Klass. Her guest always come back for more. It is a show, really it is.
Hopefully now that Misty has went through withdraws and is clean now, she might lose those rough edges and come clean about Haleigh. She, unlike Casey A. could be rehabilatated. Casey A is a sociopath, and Misty is just a product of her enviroment. Misty could have very likely killed Haleigh in a violent rage, a “whooping” that got out of control while coming down from a high. Its a horrid thought, though its so possible. Maybe Misty just needs to hear someone who loves her that its okay to tell the truth and that they are sorry for not being appropriate parents and failing her.
Misty is a child, no matter what kind of life she has been living. She needs to gain confidence in herself again and the only way she can do that is by having a support system. Maybe if Misty can see something in her life that gives her hope, maybe just maybe she will feel some passion for Haleigh and tell the truth.

I read that aricle on CNN as well. My jaw dropped when I read the part about LP. The whole article made LC look unsavory. It was taken down in a matter of hours. But I have since read copies. There where also pictures. Some one is out to really tarnish LC.
Thats why LC if you read here do not stand by Tommy now no matter what his Lawyer says. They will drag you down. Someone is already trying to discredit you and how you are living. Here is a picture for you LC. Look at the Croslin FAmily. What do you see? Jail, drugs, stealling, Lying etc and they are a family that are close because of what they do to cover for one another. They are codependent and live an addictive lifestyle. Now see yourself and Tommy at Hank and Lisas age. Your children will be doing what they have learned. Lying, stealing, drugs, they will know all about bond issues and how to play games with the system. Using foul langage will be part of their every day speech. Bull Sh$t and F**K come to mind.
Protect your self and your children. You could loose your LPN License by continueing to associate yourself with drug people. DCFS could take your children away. You have alot to loose and you have worked hard to get where you are despite Tommy and his family.

You are right “#38 happytobe here”. The family cleaned the house before the media walk through. That is just another one of those untruths that the ones in charge just let go unchallenged in order to cause confusion. Think about a girl of the mentality of a 14 year old and countless authorties and figureheads telling her what might have happened and they are sure it was true because her loved ones said it was the truth. How long can a child hang on to her sanity. … Misty’s parents might have let her raise herself but she has a built in self preservation gene that has gotten her through this battle so far. Well, there is always water boarding to get her to say what the authorities want her to say. I think Mark Klas understands better than anyone since his daughter was kidnapped from a sleep over with people all around. Jessica Lungford’s grandfather was prime to be accused by the media but she was found before they could destroy that whole family. On this memorial day that so many have laid down their life for our freedom, lets try to remember, Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

So many suspicious things with this case. Sorry, bear w/me as I have been following this story best I can, but there is So Much to pick through, I need hip waders! Think if we ordered a gross or 2 of them, they’d give us a discount?
I’m sorry, but the more I listen, the more I’m convinced this had to do with Revenge, but for what-Well, too many thoughts to pin it down to just 1.
If the story is true that Ron went to work earlier than normal, wonder what he was doing before punching in? Also, reports state he got off of work at 3:a.m., home from work at 3:27a.m.? About 16 miles from work to home? He stopped for his treats-ok…Then how is it that his mom drove an almost equal amount of distance and got to the MH in 5 minutes? She had to be going like a bat outta hell to accomplish this-on top of getting dressed, bringing the picture, etc.
Misty seems like a very scared little girl, but didn’t appear to be too scared to go out and score drugs, or be scared of anything else for that matter. She needs to start concentrating on trying to clear up that dusted over cobwebbed brain of hers. I know, why not send in Baby Lisa from Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman’s group? Or better yet, send in The Dog himself…That would scare all of them-He don’t play.

With all the technology out there today, I don’t understand why we don’t send some sort of radar/camera/night goggle type thing to the bottom of the river to actually “look” for clues instead of divers trying to see through the murky waters. There should be something that shows shapes of items that are down there. Have any companies offered to donate equipment to help in the search? Maybe someone should get out there and ask some big fishing companies if they would participate with their fancy equipment. They could probably search a good part of the river in just a fraction of the time the divers take. Just a thought.

Sorry, one more thing—Do you think Grandma Sykes made an error in her day when she said she saw the kids when she dropped off the cleaned clothes? Common sense would dictate that people who have kids usually have their clothes cleaned and ready for the following week fo school. Do you think Grandma Sykes made a mistake and said she was there on that evening when it could have actually been on Sunday night? This story floating out there about having to go back to Grandma Sykes for clothes and that’s what made Haleigh late for school-it doesn’t make sense either-Haleigh had a bunch of clothes in the closet.

Art-all (3) RC, MC, and TC have proposed their plea deals, and await a response from LE. The thing is that all 3 attorneys believe that their clients will cut some kind of a plea and their jail/prison time will be lessened.
Nancy Grace has stated time and time again that RC is going to testify against his ex-wife Misty on the drug charges. IMO: I don’t see a deal there.
MC attorney has stated that his client has told all she knows to LE? Yet, no arrest? With her court date coming up, and yet no word from LE that would lead one to believe that some of her information is incomplete and inaccurate. IMO: MC court date is likely to be rescheduled for another date, unless LE gets the lab results prior to the court date.
TC attorney stated that his client will likely get a plea deal and 3 years in prison. His attorney has stated that since April TC is cooperating with LE, and so forth. Yet, LE has not responded to his plea.
Art-Do you know what’s going on with all of this? Have you had a chance to talk to LE and get the basic information from them, since we all know it’s an open on-going homicide investigation, not sure how much they can or are willing to disclose.

I have always believed that Misty is innocent, of what most people hated her for. I felt she was afraid of someone, or something!
Ronald Cummings has always seemed shady to me. What with all his drug deals, and his life of crime. Here he is, making a deal, regarding the drugs, in order to give leverage to Haleigh’s disappearance/ or dealth!

Art, You know I love you, but in defense of ‘Don’t Know What To Think’ and your reply to them #48. Teresa Neves said on Nancy Grace ” I have had to take Oxycontin and it taste bitter.” “I do not believe Haleigh would have taken it,she would have spit it out ( paraphrasing). Don’t Know is correct they chew the pills or chop them and snort them like cocaine. I watched a documentary on the pharceutical pill problem. The one guy they had on there had a wife and child. The husband and wife were both on pills. The husband awoke to find his wife beside him dead do to being OD’d and his mother took his daughter, his brother also died, but he was still addicted to the oxycontins that took away his loved ones.So very sad!!!!

Hi Art, I read your post daily…Thanks so much for keeping little Hayleigh front and center…I can depend on what you say..I have no idea what is going on in these peoples lives, however, i somehow feel that Misty did not do this..she does however know what happened.I feel so bad that this little child was raised in such conditions..I am a grandmother of a disabled child and he and his big sister mean the world to me, so i might add, where were the people that were suppsed to love and protect her?? If i thought for a “second” that my grandchildren were living in this kind of environment i would move heaven and earth to get them out of it..I by no means believe that Hayleighs family didi’t love her, i just feel they trusted the ones too much that were in charge..Thanks again Art for all you do, but i have one question?? Who is Freida?? and i feel she needs some help herself. she tends to take away from what you are doing here with her “strange” posts…but, your great to give everyone a voice…

This is sort of off-topic, but can you explain, Art, why is it that bail amounts are so so low in that area of Florida? Is it just because of the demographics that dictate why the fees are so minute?
I hope my thoughts are correct; I think LE does actually know much more than they are letting on in this case because of what happened with the other. I have read about supposed corruption in that area with-in the force. Tell me, Art, if that is true, who else could come in to handle this situation? Just appears Ron has always got just a slap on the hand for his previous arrests and now he supposedly gets a plea deal in his case. Why not the others? If this is true, I think this has more to do with other people he knows and not just Misty. The moment we heard he was going to ‘talk’, we then heard about others who got arrested for drug possesion with the intent to sell, or to make, etc. Interesting.

Art – I think we are definitely getting closer to everthing spilling out – of Misty. She is already starting to turn a little bit on Ron – you can see and hear it in some of her jail tapes. Can’t remember who she was talking to , but she started talking about Ron and how they need to start looking at him – well there you go. I am sure she has heard that he is going to testify against her – won’t be long – as she spends more and more time behind bars the more sober and clearer she becomes. I do not believe Misty hurt this child – but I believe she knows a lot, and is a threat to Ron, and scared of Ron. Also Theresa Nieves – if I was this grandchilds grandmother, and my grandchild went missing on the babysitters watch, I would be ANGRY and SUSPICIOUS at the babysitter – I would not support them until I was absolutely positive they had no involvement. I think everyone is scared of Ron. But the more time they all spend behind bars, the less scared of him they have to be. Don’t worry – the truth is coming.

I believe that he really did care about Haleigh and he wants to KNOW what happened to his granddaughter! But I will state once more that Grandma Flo bears listening to. I have known families like the Croslin’s as a substance abuse counselor/recovering addict of 32 years, and those old folks might not have the education to put a paragraph together coherently but I have found that they are the truth tellers! I look for you on Nancy’s show, Art, and I do understand why you and Leonard Padilla put up with her. It is after all, HER show! You are truly a gentleman and a man of great insight. I just watched a video of Greta Van Susteran, Ron and Misty, recoreded back in Feb 09.
Greta asked Misty who came over that day, she mentioned her brother and nephews and an AC man. She did not mention Ron’s grandmother at all!
Thought that was rather interesting because Nancy seems to think that Ron had nothing to do with her missing because he was at work and his grandmohter came over at 7:30 and shie is reliable source. I have a problem with this.

Hi Art. I’ve been wondering about the other charges on Ronald and Tommy. Ron told the UC guy he had a pending charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Was that due to the fight with Tommy or something else? Is that case still pending or was it dropped? I wonder too if his gun cabinet was locked the night Haleigh went missing and if so, did Misty have access to the key.
Then there is Tommy, was he ever charged with the B&E of his neighbors house? We haven’t heard of any court dates for these things so i am just curious if the charges are still pending.
Why did Misty tell LE about the B&E? What did she have to gain by doing that?

Art; I totally agree with no name. They only had 4 months with little Haleigh they might have loved her but they dont care bout finding her, they just care about saving their own family. And I also believe that the Croslin family is trying to milk the news, bounty hunters, and who ever else they can to get what they want and need because they cant afford it on their own. Its understandable that Chelsea needs a car, but does she realize that a car costs $$$$ and she is saying that she doesnt want money for the letter. CHELSEA WAKE UP THERE IS A LITTLE GIRL THAT IS DEAD AND IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT THE FAMILY YOU ARE IN HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT!!!!!!! To me the only person in the Croslin family that seems to be sincere about wanting the truth to come out is the father Hank Croslin SR. And I feel that he is at a breaking point to were he doesnt care if it hurts his daughter. We are all sick of her lies and it is fare past the time for little Haleigh to be put to rest and let her family have closure.

If a Lie is Repeated Often Enough, Can the Person Come to Believe the Lie is True? According to the author, Brian Jayne, each time a guilty suspect lies successfully and escapes the consequences of his act he is fortified in his belief that he will not be punished. In essence, he becomes more confident telling the lie and his fear of being detected lying decreases.
To your reader Gina – Misty is far from innocent. She was the last person to see Haleigh alive and that makes her the key to this farce. If Gina will recall, Ron’s grandma went to the home the night Haleigh disappeared and Misty was feeding the kids dinner. Hence, the alleged crime couldn’t have occured the weekend Misty was MIA as suggested. Maybe Misty is confused because of all the lies she’s been telling….

Hello. I had some free time today and watched some of the jail tapes and i happened to notice a trend with everyone in them. When they get to talking about the case and one thinks it’s going too far knowing it’s being recorded they say “i love you”. That’s the cue to the other one to change the subject. Ever notice that? I know people say i love you but if you watch you can see that is how they communicate to each other to switch topics. I saw for the first time the one of Lyndsay and Tommy when she’s mad and calls the Croslin’s liars and so much more! Hearing all of that directly from her was certainly an eye opener. I then watched Misty and Hank, her crying swearing she doesn’t know anything, then i remembered Tommy saying the same to his wife. Can’t be. The only one i’d like to see cut a break is Donna. She did what she did but i hope she gets a second chance or her life is ruined. I just think if given a chance she will be alright and will have learned a great lesson. JMO.

I have some questions about Donna Brock.
She was a volunteer for TES. They put her together with Misty to try to extract some information. Miller said that TES even fronted Donna some funds to take Misty to Orlando to get away from Ron. Miller was quoted as saying that they knew she was on drugs. She must have been given quite a sales pitch to do this. I am making an assumption here that she was vulnerable and got talked into this in order to do a good thing. Instead of putting a vulnerable woman at risk in as the mole, why didn’t they care enough about Donna the person who might have used some help in getting away from the drugs, instead of sending her deeper into this drug infested world of the Croslins and the Cummings ?
Doesn’t say much about the people who were running this sting does it ? Did they think that the end jsutified the means ? Like sending a drinker in to have a few drinks with the hard drinkers. Now Donna is facing a minimum of 25 years and is in deep chit. Everyone has deserted her, she doesn’t even have phone minutes and doesn’t have much faith in her lawyer.

Art i don’t know if there is any truth to this but I wanted to bring it to your attention and ask you if you have ever heard of Buffalo Bluff Rd.? I was reading through some old posts on another site devoted to Haleigh and back in March of ’09 a man claiming to be familiar with that area said there was some sort of camera (security or traffic) located there. The man claims that there would be no way out of the trailer park unless by water without passing it.
Have you ever heard of this camera or street? I don’t put much faith in everything I read but I trust you and what you report. I’m sure that LE wouldn’t have missed someyhing this major if it were true,but just wondered if it exists and if so did it not offer any leads???

I think Happytobehere48 brought up a point about Chelsea. Although I have always believed Misty is directly responsible, after reading Happy’s post I had to wonder why all of a sudden Chelsea is saying SHE has to know the truth and is on the verge of breaking down. It also made me think about the conversation Misty had with Chelsea where she says that “It’s gona hurt two people.” if memory serves me correctly Chelsea replied “That I care about?” I got the feeling she was asking indirectly if Misty intended to finger Timmy. Could it be that Chelsea is suspicious of her own husband??
Is there something we don’t know about him that would lead his own wife to think he would be capable of being involved in such a thing?

I think that Ronald has very much to do with Haleigh being missing, initially. I believe that he owed $$ to a drug dealer, and he didn’t have the $$. He’s one sick puppy, with his guns, rants, stoned all the time, abuse of women and possibly children! He has total control of Misty, in fact, I believe that she is very afraid of him. He didn’t react like most people do, when their child goes missing! He may have gone on some searches initially, but not for a long long time. Someone that puts guns in their mouths, in front of their children, is a real wacko to me. He has a lot of anger, malicious, controlling,and viciousness. In my opinion, there exists a huge possiblity that his mother and grandmother could also be afraid of him!! I know that I sure would be!

Oh yes, I wish everyone would lay off the Croslins, especially the parents. They have also been under a fine microscope, which I think is very unfair of them. They do love their children and grandchildren….and this is the most important thing.

Art can you help me with this? I remember way back they said that the dogs had tracked Haleigh’s scent but it stopped at some point, well if the new story that Tommy is saying is true then wouldn’t that conflict with that? Because if she died in the trailer then the dogs wouldn’t of picked up on her scent for a few blocks right? I was confused on this. Because weren’t there supposedly trace marks of her feet that they found behind the trailer implicating that she was walking at some point until they couldn’t detect her scent or see her footprints?

LE has kept relentless pressure on the Croslins, including the parents, to squeeze Misty and Tommy like a vise, and it worked. It’s unclear if the state attorney has enough to indict in Haleigh’s murder, but they are working hard at it. And in working it, there’s been Croslin collateral damage, including small-time transgressions that have taken Hank Sr, and Misty’s mother, Lisa, to their knees, locked out of jobs and ostracized in Palatka. But from talks with Hank Sr, he sounds much better, grateful a local Pentacostal minister with a tiny church and a giant heart has rented him a room and served up extra spiritual helpings that helped deflate his suicidal feelings and instill some hope.
On Thursday, he showed up in court and told both his children that he loved them as Misty and Tommy passed him in the courthouse, where Tommy plead no contest to drug charges and Misty’s trial date on her drug charges was set for Aug. 23.
“I love, you, Misty,” he told her as she walked past.
“I love you too, Daddy,” she said.
“Tore me up to see them in shackles,” he told The Bald Truth, phoning me after court to share his feelings.
What’s somewhat endearing about Hank is that he cops to his troubled parenthood, and praises Tommy for holding and hiding his money during his especially dark days as an Dad-addict when they used to work together doing drywall. Those were Hank’s pill days, among other drugs, and Tommy kept the business running, he says, at 16. “He pulled in $1,000 a week, and took care of his family and us,” Hank told The Bald Truth in an exclusive interview. Then drugs got to him, too, and he’s lost everything: freedom, his kids, his loyal wife, Lindsay, who is dating again, family tells me.
With his no contest plea, Tommy hopes to take his bitter medicine, do his time for doing the drug crimes and start over, says Hank.

So if the wrong dock were searched as Misty has suggested then what other dock could possibly be the one, that is, if this story is even true?
And isn’t it true that Ron Cummings possibly has a great Uncle and Aunt Shillings who are related to GGMa Sykes that live just a short distance away from the dock area that was recently searched? Seems they also have a dock on their property along the river edge. Makes me wonder though.

I wish people would stop trashing the Croslins,they know they are dysfunctional (whatever that imlies these days) or the do gooders who are ‘normal’ (please explain) just what your perception of normal is.
I have taken a different look at this family, they are not drug runner mafia stuff for goodness sake prescription medication that you can buy over the counter in several countries they haven’t flown abroad or purchased pills on the internet.

on this forum who have prescription pills in their bedside table including, L.E. Judges, Lawyers you’d be appalled a being called a DRUGGIE and take 15-25 yr incarceration, what a joke!!! beat your stepchild to death and get less

Hank and Lisa have gone through this process with ‘Dignity’ and Kudos to them unlike the ‘normal’ upbringing of one miss casey anthony and her family.

Whoever is responsible for this (Ronald) greek tragedy will be charged, why make those less responsible (after event)people sit on trumped up charges in prison, just makes L.E look like incompetent fools there in the U.S, not like they are dealing with the O.J.’s or Peterson teams still they couldn’t get that right so what hope do the Croslins have!!
I feel sorry for Misty I doubt she was a team leader and being only 17 would not be into murder an accessory after the fact maybe and fear of Ronald is what she is paying for now.
If Ronald walks away from this and misty stays he’s not going to have an easy life inside or out.

I was cleaning the pool today when a hose slipped off drenching me completely. My sneakers were soaked. As I walked in the house, I noticed my shoes were “squeaking”. Didn’t the little boy Junior say the man there that night had “squeaky” shoes on? Could he have already been at the river and got his sneakers soaked…or did he come back to the trailer after dumping her body with wet shoes on?

J–Have heard of, and passed the road, even driven down it, and never noticed the so called camera…If there was a traffic camera, that’s the first thing that LE would check, as they did in Atlanta after the 96 Olympic Park bombings. basic police work, and in this case, we know the checklist was done, my sources tell me: all vid taken from the convenience stores, including the one Ronald stopped at enroute from work at 315 am to buy a tall beer, peanuts and cigarettes, helping establish his alibi and timeline. A lot of things bother me about this issue. Like why did Ron leave earlier than normal for work…There’s enough whys to fill a book, I know. I have a thought process that either one or the other family in this, wanted to teach someone a good lesson and Haleigh could still be very much alive and living, well, God knows where. When I say drugs were involved, it’s like an every day 24/7 occurance in that area, but the same group are always getting involved.
Ron made a claim he was in debt to somebody, to the tune of about $35,000- The Reward amount was about the same-odd coincidence. Then Ron goes out and gets himself a new truck-Excuse me, that costs money, how come he had to blurt that information out about a debt when it should have been done behind closed doors with the Detectives and/or the FBI? He didn’t seem to be worried as he went about his daily jaunt with his side hobby-life as he knew it went on, until he stepped into the doo doo of one great upmanship. I think he knows 1000% what happened to his daughter.

A tall beer! Cummings knew there would not be time for more than one “roadie.” His plan with Misty was to pretend “Haleigh” was taken and the “beer” stop would give him time for his alibi.”I WAS AT WORK.” Misty messed up–p___ed off Cummings that she couldn’t keep his story straight! And here it is over a year later–same old BS. Poor baby Haleigh.
Art, Is it true that alcohol sales were prohibited at the time he purchased a tall one? If so, was the store fined for selling beer after 2:00am???, 1:00am??? Just wondering.

Misty wants everyone to think they searched the wrong dock so that she can’t be traced back to the cinder blocks they found. The whole family are nothing but liars even that chelsey person. Just another conspiracy to cover up the murder. I just hope in the end the whole family is charged with crimes for lying to police during a murder investigation. And they can be sent to prison and tore away from their children for the rest of their lives like Ron was torn away from Haleigh due to them.

If they can’t get her on Haleigh’s murder I hope her and tommy get life for drug dealing. It’s karma, they got away with murder and karma got them for dealing, I love the way that works. Too damn stupid to stop while your ahead and were all glad for that. How does someone raise three kids and two of them turned out this way? Barley out of high school and all these serious crimes against them. And finally Joe is innocent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And so is Ron!!!!!!!!!!

Just came across some information that the Amber Alert for Haleigh was just takn down this past Friday. Does that mean that whatever they found in the river has been tested and confirmed now? Or, did someone confess? This would somehow go hand in hand with the news from LE when they mentioned to the family about planning a funeral.

Thanks Art for reporting on this story. You always have the inside scoop and you always report it with such fairness. I watched Nancy Grace for years….but I got tired of her snapping on you if you didn’t say exactly what she wanted to hear..exactly the way she wanted to hear it. I’d find myself screaming at the television for her to stop interrupting you and let you report!
Meanwhile she’s pampering Ron on her show just because he’s saying “Miss Nancy”….which was so phoney even a child could see through that. But she loves her ego fed it’s clear.
She pampered Casey Anthony’s parents also when it was clear they were not innocent in that either.
Last week when she snapped on Mark Klaas, I’d had enough. That was completely out of line. “Oh I get it Mark, you don’t agree with Ron’s lifestyle” she snapped. That was insane and cruel to say to him. I can no longer stand to listen to her self richeous, hypocrital ramblings.

Loved it. I feel the same way ‘alibi’. I happened to be reading NG blog today, and it sure was very nasty, name calling,etc.
They said that Misty did meth and cocaine!! I have only heard about her doing pot and prescription drugs. People that get caught for the above, actually, due very little time, due to prison overcrowding. They weren’t heavy duty drug deals, total was about $3400 approx. The group in jail is most definely there, for the missing Haleigh!
But, should would like to see a microscopic look at the Cummings family, as well as Crystal and her mother. IMO everybody involved in this mess, should all have relentless pressure put on them!! What a sterling idea!!
I feel very badly for Hank and Lisa, and was very happy to hear some news about them. I’m so sick of hearing “white trash, trailer trash” and other names. They are at least second generation poor people. I very glad to hear that Hank seems to be getting back on his feet, and I am hoping that Lisa is also.

Realized that I had something that I really wanted to ask you!! I have heard numerous mental status reports regarding Misty. Things such as BPD, Borderline Personality Disorder, sociopath, etc!
I haven’t read anything about her being diagnosed by a psycholist, psyciatrist, or anyone else.
Have you heard anything about this??
People should use those words carefully, people with mental health issues, don’t appreciate those words thrown out so casually. To them, it is a very real, serious illness that they are fighting, for their life!
The only one that I would think is real, is depression, Misty’s life at the present time, would make anyone depressed!
I just wish that people would lay off the name calling, and nastiness. But, they probably feel better, when they can trash someone else!!

Hi Art..haven’t seen you around in a while, u must be quite busy. I heard yesterday Misty went to court and was given extra time to try and work out a plea deal. What do you think of that? Hope definitely should have pled not guilty, she could have easily gotten a deal. Wonder what Misty has to offer if she needs something to get her a “deal”. I hate to lose the faith but i am starting to think this isn’t going to be solved any time soon…i also hope i am wrong and Misty is talking to get her deal. I sense many people are starting to believe she really doesn’t remember anything, i still believe she does but it’s so bad she won’t say it.

How about instead of trading the letter for a car, she should turn it over to law enforcement and be done with it. If it is considered evidence then she should turn it over, no questions asked. And if she insists on marketing the letter, couldn’t she be charged with tampering?

Art- Want you to know how much I appreciate you staying on top of this case. I feel that the whole country has fallen in love with little Haleigh and we all want justice for her. Even if we didnt have someone in custody, just her body to lie at rest if she has passed away would be nice. However, of course we want to know what happened. Is it time to give up? I hope no one ever gives up on her. I am from Clearwater and I pray for her everyday. I feel like no one has covered this case in a little over a week and would love to know whats going on. For Misty’s sake she needs to stop lying and tell the truth. Even her parents dont beleive her. The cops need to start being manipulative with her and break her. She is a weak, heartless soul.

I have followed this story real close.I find it odd that haleigh went missing so close to kaylieghs disaperrence.I thought it may be a copy cat sort thing.I am so very confused to what happened to this baby.There are so many theorys and all of them could be the issue.I dont know who is innocent or guilty anymore.I just hope that this baby is found one way or the other.WE NEED CLOSER JUST LIKE THE FAMILY DOES!!Maybe Ron did have something to do with this,and stopped by the store to create an alibi.maybe he didnt.I certanily agree that misty is a scared girl,wether she had anything to do with it or not.From early on I thought tommy had something to do with this.Ron had him to go see if misty was home and no one came to the door???SOUNDS REAL FISHY.IF IT was someone outside the family why didnt they hurt or take misty or junior?Im so confused.CANT WAIT FOR THE TRUTH TO COME OUT.I just hope that hayliegh didnt suffer,and by chance she would still be alive.Another question…..If she was threw in the pond/river arent there gators there?If she was eaten would any kind of evidence show???????they would never know if something out her!!Maybe bones….Im just not sure!

Thanks Art for keeping us up to date on this story. I haven’t visited much lately – eye problems. I’m glad to see that some more people think like I do that Misty has told what she knows abouy yhat night. I hate to see Aug. 23rd come up. I hope she doesn’t get driven over the edge. To me she always seemed like a young girl doing the best she could to make a good life. Just a gut feeling I.ve always had about her. Sometimes I look at her as an abused child by the media and people she trusted. There are some mean spirited people in this world. Anyhow, wish her well and still pray for little Haleigh every night. I happened to catch that tornado over the St. John’s river one day last fall and couldn’t help but think of her and maybe it was a sighn that she had been taken to her peace. It was headed for Jacksonville. I still think someone should have a memorial for her. Do you think it will ever happen?

I’d still rather believe that Haleigh vanished in a heart beat and it was an accident, even though Misty won’t, or will never admit to ‘it’…since it was a ‘flash’ of possible insanity…anger and possible she was a little, too young to be responsible for that ‘special needs’ child…that, that DNA Daddy put her in charge of…his very own aftermath while he went to work and/or possibly just got literally screwed and could have done ‘it’ himself…as an over-tired parent using drugs to escape creation itself.

But I do know that I’m guilty as sin for intruding and judging. But I’m just human. And your bald, so we’ve all got something wrong with us, I guess.
