We talk about more details from the new jailhouse letter Misty Croslin sent sister in law, Chelsea Croslin, in Massachussets earlier this month.
In it, Chelsea tells The Bald Truth, her sister in law reveals more details than she has yet to tell publically, and sources tell me law enforcement has a copy and is well aware of its contents.
Anything Croslin says or writes is compared to previous statements, sources say, in hopes the story will eventually stop changing and she will settle on one version that can be vetted and verified and backed up by hard evidence–forensics, and a timeline backed up by witnesses and cell phone records that prosecutors hope to use to build a murder case on day soon.
Leonard Padilla tells The Bald Truth that Chelsea has been discussing a possible sale of the letter with him for about $3,000 — or a used pickup truck that is big enough to let her husband Timmy drive to work on at a resort this summer and ferry their children on errands and to school.
Chelsea says she doesn’t want money, but would hand it over if someone did buy her that truck. So far, Leonard Padilla isn’t biting, he says.

Good for LP not biting…Chelsea is in the mix of Haleigh’s disappearance IMO and she and Timmy should be interviewed over and over if that’s what it takes..I think she and Timmy know exactly what happened that night/morning..Misty called Timmy before Ron arrived home from work that night…I’d love to know what that conversation was about.. I doubt the letter is a bombshell, as NG would say.. Doesn’t LE have a copy? They would have acted on it if it were of importance, IMO or maybe it is important, and it’s something LE is keeping from the media..
The only think we really know is Haleigh is missing, and LE has declared it a homicide..

Is it any surprise the amount she wants is so low? I mean, come on…If I had something to dish, that was of extreme importance and value, I’d be asking for a lot more than $3,000 measley dollars or a used truck! They don’t aim high, do they? A $3,000 truck would be considered scrap heap to most, not fit or driveable-As Judge Joe Brown sez: ‘A Hoopty’. As for $3,000-That would not get them anyplace at all. I weep for the youth of today-Some of them anyways have no brains!

Sell the letter, WTFlip is that? Selling it could place the legal case for Haleigh at risk. It could taint Jurors or be debatable as to whether or not it did and that could cause problems. Searching ditches for bottles is an option. Food bank is an option. Working two jobs is an option. Selling that letter is not an option. Don’t cry me a river about hard times. No matter what there are some things you do not ever even consider doing and this is one of them. Life is pretty straight forward there are some things you never do!!! Geeesh I can’t believe this is even an option. WTFlip is this world coming too?

They would have to spend days trying to interpurt it. And then would be adding their words trying to explain her misspelling and train of thought. We all have got the jest already. They’re blaming Joe. Another letter won’t convince anyone. Only the Body will convince me. And they claim the gators ate her.
I am sure LE has a copy and if it is relevant it will come out in the trial. And some day there will be one. Misty will still be lying when she is prison hopefully for the drug charges. Misty Lies like Casey.

Not sure i heard it right when listening to the TC/Flora tape, was it Lisa and Hank who were going to give Lyndsay 200.00? From reading this i can assume it wasn’t Tim and CC. Why the friction with Lyndsay and Tommy’s parents if that was who tried to give her the money? If it wasn’t them who was it? I’m guessing about now Tommy and Misty are calling Flora so often because everyone else is broke or locked up. Visits are probably drying up as well.

Art, just curious? If this so-called letter detailed more evidence or revealed incriminating facts. Why would LE let it go forward to Chelsea and just make a copy? Wouldn’t they withhold it instead because of it’s contents, thus confiscating it for evidence.
I don’t believe this letter has any impact, because LE has been so cautious so far. Maybe it’s just another ruse to shake the Croslin tree or others. Just a thought. Your input would be greatly appreciated to this theory.

Thanks Art and great updates! This is what I have heard since we have not heard much if anything from MC attorney. All the other attorneys have spoken out in public. What I recently heard is that Misty is talking to the DA regarding a plea deal to reduce her drug sentencing. My understanding is that she is willing to testify against the “person” who killed Haleigh and those who had involvement. My understanding is that this is up in the works. IMO, she will likely have to take another polygraph to prove that what she is willing to testify holds some validity to it.

something doesn’t sound right with this…. Chelsea will hand over the letter if someone buys her family a truck?? I would think she’d hand it over right away because this involves a child that was reported missing and is now presumed dead. Something just doesn’t sit right with me about Chelsea and it hasn’t since the first time she talked on tv.

Art, in FL they seem to release a lot more info than other states. Have the cell phone records been made public? I remember seeing cell phone records along with text messages in the Casey Anthony case. Why don’t we see them in this case?

Art, I just cannot find the words to express my disgust at Chelsea Croslin! How dare her try to profit off the death of little Haleigh! Is there no sorrow in any of them that a five year old died at the hands of their kin? I still have to wonder why those two packed up and got out of Dodge. I check your column every day and watch JVM and NG in hopes LE has found something and this child can be laid to rest. Thanks for the good work….cannot wait to see them all get the justice they deserve. I have an idea of how to make Misty tell the truth…. take her to the dock…tie a yellow rope around her and the other end to a cinder block…drip deer blood on her and hang her over the water….bet she’d talk when the gators started snapping at her lieing behind!!!!!!

You know this entire Family just knows how to get what they want don’t they? I’ll give you a letter, you give me a truck. I guess Lenord doesn’t want to buy yet another vehicle for the Croslins. Maybe the other one for Misty’s Parents’s didn’t prove valuable enough. But you know, I have no doubts Chelesa will end up with a truck.
This is one Family that deals in lies isn’t it? I’m sure thats the whole hold-up on this case, just sorting through all the lies.
I don’t think Haleigh ingested a pill either. I think Misty & Tommy are behind all this. Not sure what to make of Joe, but to kill for a gun is just ludacrist.

ok…Ronald is to blame for this whole mess. He used Misty and she is so ignorant to it. He should be charged with contributing to the delinqency of a minor….period. Those drug deals were all his and Misty just thought she was “cool” being a part of it….so grown-up youknow. She is scared of him now..big time. I think she would like to rat on him..but then Ron probably has people out there who would do her in. He is a creep of the highest order….why can’t anyone see that?

it seems to me that this family just wants money i bet if someone offered her parents or tommy’s wife as fairly amount of money to them then they would throw who ever under the bus maybe someone should see if her parents and tommy’s wife would take a lie detector and ask if they know who and what happened to the little girl and if they do offer money for info but tell them that they have to check to see if it is true with another test or some positive evidence.i say misty hit her she fell and hit her head or temple and she died and she freaked out called her brother her brother called to get his mini van back cuz he lent it to his sister in law but Joe answered so he told him to bring the van to him then they went to misty’s and got rid of the little girl than came back and picked up the house and made it look like a child kidnapping

If this letter has any importance to the investigation, wouldn’t selling it or trading it for a truck make her crimainally liable for tampering with evidence? Just curious, Art. But perhaps this letter has probative value. How do we even know we can Chelsea? By the way, hope you are planning to write abook about this case. More twists and turns thanany fiction we see on TV or read in a novel.

Has Hope Sykes ever taken a lie detector test? The first I heard of her was just recently after she was convicted and we saw those shocking tapes of her talking to her mother.
I keep wondering what she meant by saying something like…we’re already ten steps ahead of them in this game…if everyone would just pick up their damn steps…!
There are at least ten people between these families that seem to all know what happened imo now that we can review this case from the beginning.
Does anyone think these money-grubbers could have been influenced by Casey Anthony and all the $ her parents got and premeditated the murder of Haleigh? There seem to be a few too many similarities. Before Casey was found, there was a lot of talk about her having been dumped somewhere where alligators got her. Then, the Anthonys were on tv every chance they got. I suspeceted they knew what happened from the beginning and have lied all along just as the Croslin/Cummings are doing imo.

She is dumb, the cops already have a copy. Besides, it’s just more Misty rants and lies…like she says in her jailhouse tapes to her parents, “there’s nothing to crack me of, I don’t know nothing…” yeah right, you know nothing and you keep sending “fake” scenarios in letters to Chelsea cause you think you came up with a better lie than the last lie.

Art, I just read what I wrote and I feel the need to do some ‘splainin. I said that the Croslin’s had some dignity ? What is wrong with me? Can you redact that? LOL I think maybe Granny Hollars is the only one with a lil left and if I were the “Croslin” kind, I’d not be asking for a damned truck, but some teeth for my kinfolk… Granny and Lisa both need a full set, and I do happen to know a denturist that would cut them a deal! Not for a letter or anything, just cause he is a nice guy and likes seeing people proud of their smile. On the other hand at least you can’t say the ones without teeth are lying THROUGH their teeth! I’m with you on Granny.. I think she rocks and tells the truth as she HEARS it. Hell, I’d hook her up with teeth just so no one could talk trash ’bout her! Somewhere it has been said that Ron claimed to have picked Haleigh up at the bus stop. He said that she rode to the MH on his lap, behing the steering wheel. I have also read where Chelsea says she was at the bus stop that day and that she was offended due to the fact that Ron just “sped away” and that he wouldn’t take the time to allow Chelsea to greet her niece.
First off, hasn’t it been stated that Ron had previous encounters with Florida’s version of Child Protective Services? Seems odd he would volunteer the fact that he drove his vehicle with his daughter on his lap. Could he have had an ulterior motive when stating that? With that statement, could he have been laying out a possible defense for a later date?
As for Chelesa claiming she was offended cause Ron “sped away” and she was unable to say Hi to Haleigh. I have always found that statement as odd. Why whine over that? Seems to me these family members interacted on a regular basis, heck, they lived so close they shared a bus stop. I have been left to wonder why she put that out there.
Now I am thinking, let’s say everyone rolls and all fingers are pointed at Ron. Backed tight enough into a corner, has the groundwork been laid through the two statemnets listed above, for Ron to come out and claim “It was an accident. Haleigh hit the brakes (and/or gas and/or steering wheel) while she was on my lap in the car, she was injured and died as a result. I got scared and didn’t call LE.” I can hear Chelsea in the background of Ron saying this, nodding her head and saying “ummm, hum, the car did speed away.”
One thing I strongly feel is that NEGLECT, either lack of adequate medical care or lack of adequate supervision, is what ultimately resulted in Haleigh’s death.

ok where to start ? well ill start with a theory i have just had while reading thrw the blogs .
first of all i think it is an unbeleivable story to kill a chhild for a gun . i also do not belive that she died by accident from a drug overdose becouse i think misty would have cracked by now knowing it was an accident she could tell her story and be cleared . i think she holds back out of fear from ron after all he is a woman beater so i have read and she just did loose his baby . imagine any normalt person telling there hubby they lost there kids and they are to blame . accident or not .
after reading these latest blogs and seeing all the vidio footage on this family and how timmy puts the credit on the phones ect ect maybe it is possible that they would kill for money .
so now that makes me question again the gun would have made the money that this family seem so desperate for, i do not know how much a gun sells for i have no idea in the us but i do know that letters based on lies deseption guilt blood death go for around the price of a truck so who knows .
i dont think misty is to blame for the death ….but she is to blame for the mess that surrounds it . if she was so cared she could have had police custody and all sorts i imagine she played the role kept up apperances and even married the man knowing his beloved was dead . thats what so unforgivable .
it is a bit like the casey case ..u can sympathise with a woman who has lost it and hurt the ones she loves …you can not sypathise with a woman who had sone somthing in cold blood seemingly with no remorse at all .

As a former church secretary I saw all kinds of people, some honestly needful and a lot like the Croslins! They receive all government monies they can possible get their hands on and beg, beg, borrow and steal whatever else the can! Never taking the steps of getting a honest job. Leonard, please do not buy that letter! I would bet that LE have copies. Could not LE lawfully take control of the original letter and question Timmy and his low life wife. I believe the whole family knows what happened to this child. Plus trying to make blood money off this poor child’s death makes them about the lowest pieces of sh@*s I have ever heard of! How about this for a plan? Take Ronald, Tommy , Misty to trial on drug charges. That will keep them locked up for decades because no jury is going to believe they are not guilty when you have them on tape. No deal for Ron for any info about misty, but if he would like a deal he could tell what he knows about Cosin Joe and his planned trip to Fla, and the drug connection they have,as well as reveal his other connections ..Then they can all rot in jail.

If Haleigh’s little body was thrown in the St. John’s River, I don’t think it will ever be found. Too much time has passed. So, without a body, what can LE do to prove that Haleigh was killed?

Misty OD’d Haleigh with Ron’s drugs, Timmy & Tommy disposed of the body. Tommy is lying and making up the story that Joe is responsible for Haleigh’s murder to protect Misty from going down. Lindsy & Chelsea were well aware of what happened that night. Timmy & Chelsea moved away to try and take any suspicions of involvement off of them. Lindsy divorced Tommy to take any suspicion of her involvement off of her. Ron, TN & GMSK and who knows who else… helped with the cleanup. I say we don’t need a confession, just lock them all up, throw away the key and be done with it.

Why, would it be a sin for chelsea or lindsay to profit from this. They aren’t responsible for their in-laws or husbands actions in fact most people would do the same these girls even misty need a way out of this dysfunctional environment as the girls have shown they are not silly and with the assistance of a financial nature can and i believe will begin another life therefore giving their children a chance of knowing and living outside this environment.
Of course they are grieving for haleigh (god bless her soul)
if this lot were greedy they would have offered up information for the reward as soon as it was posted not wait 14 months and sell a letter for a used pick-up or a greedy $3,000.00 why not $30,000.00. I did read somewhere that LE thought that lindsey and chelsea were pleasant and helpful in their dealings, naive as they are they shouldn’t be treated as suspects or trashed in the media. Misty is covering for ron this cousin joe fits in there somewhere.

If her and her hubby need a truck, you get jobs like every other person who wants to better their lives and the lives of their children instead of begging and entitlements! If she knows the truth and has NO involvement or cover up, then she should tell the cops the truth. This could of been one of her children instead of Haleigh and one would hope that her sister-in-law would run not walk that letter to the police department! There are a lot of people like myself, who grew up poor but still managed to live a life without selling drugs, marrying lowlifes, and not profiting off a child’s murder!

Here’s the “perfect storm” for revenge. Misty tells Tommy and/or Joe about RC trying to force her to miscarry a few days earlier.They both have already had issues with RC so this makes them furious. RC maybe owes Joe money and Joe needs it that night but it’s not there. Tommy and Joe get together,maybe have a few drinks or take something, go over there to steal what they can, maybe Misty let’s them in seeing it’s her brother. Haleigh comes in the room when she hears a commotion just as they see the rifle is gone, but other guns are in the cabinet. They say Joe “went crazy”, what if he did? Grabs a different gun, see’s Haleigh and knowing that’s how he can hurt RC the most, hits her with the gun in a moment of rage. Misty may have been in a different room and didn’t see exactly what occured, but after Joe see’s what he has done panics and he and Tommy take Haleigh to the van.She could have been hurt bad enough they wouldn’t be able to explain it so they don’t call for help. Misty could have been right there but didn’t see who did what exactly. She knows who was there and who took Haleigh though. That’s why she shows deception on her poly’s but since she didn’t see exactly what happened she continues to say she doesn’t know, only that she didn’t do it. Tommy can’t just go on home at that point,Joe won’t let him, he was part of it going there in the first place so he goes with Joe to wherever they took Haleigh, not necessarily the river. Tommy gets dropped back off at Ronald’s, returns the gun to the cabinet and sets the house up to make it look like a break-in. Just thinking of possibilities. A little truth mixed in with lies, the complete story might be something like this scenario. Just trying to fill in the gaps if any part of what they have claimed has an element of truth. Had to be rage or accidental, or some of both.

if Misty knows she could do life in prison then i do think she would say something. maybe she really doesn’t know what happened.
or maybe they should put her in GP because those girls would give her hell and IF she knows something then she’ll tell. i watched her voice test and she was nervous from the beginning . people don’t need to call her family names either. i do feel bad for the dad because he cant even get a job because of who he is. the dad is getting very angry at Misty but like i said maybe she knows nothing. everyone is turning on her even the man she loves so i think she would have said something now and 15 years is a long time!!! child Molesters don’t even get that long. these people are not some big drug dealers and the cousin getting 15 yrs is beyond ridiculous! if Ronald gets 15 yrs thats also messed up!

i say THE WHOLE CROSLIN-CUMMINGS family should be put in prison black and stripe jail uniforms and put straight in the media eye. they are liars and KNOW what happened to little precious Haleigh.the people here in satsuma, florida are sick and tired of the whole bunch.they lie,BS the media. and, misty is crying to her daddy…………….boo-hoo .how do they think Haleigh felt when whatever happened to her? i have total faith in Sheriff Hardy in Putnam County.HE will find out what happened and i hope they all
spend the rest of their sorry lives behind bar’s, for MURDER AND DRUGS.

Hank really lays it on the line from the little bit we have seen so far. I’ve always thought he could be the one person that could get her to tell the truth, hope that’s the case. I wish that they would give Misty what she has been begging for and put her in the general pop. I think she would start giving them straight answers in exchange for them putting her back in protective custody. I bet there are alot of vicious women in there, that nomatter what crimes they may have commited woud give anything to be with thier children, I bet they would love for Misty to get within arms reach.
I’m not sure if I was Ronald that I would be cutting a deal for 15yrs. Doesn’t sound like a great deal to me. I think he should ask for a jury trial because I can’t help having sympathy for him. I think a jury would be sympathetic as well. I think he should be offered drug court and go to rehab. I believe the trauma he has been through caused him to relapse. He states in one of the undercover videos that he coud come upwith the money to do all those pills himself. This is clearly a statement of someone who is dealing to support his own habit. He deserves punishment but he also deserves compassion.

art- We know how manipulative,calculating, and deceptive Misty is. After finding out that sister-n-law is wanting money and/or a vehicle in exchange for letters from Misty it makes me wonder if all these letters haven’t been written for proffit.
We know she isn’t giving enough details to prove anything and isn’t taking any responsability herself.
Misty is desperate to make bail. Is it possible that she is writing letters with so called “details” about what happened that night in hopes that they could sell them to a reporter and/or magazine for enough money to bail her out?
How can these people (any of them) claim to have loved Haleigh but then be willing to exploit her death for a USED CAR?? SHAME ON THEM!!
Having grown up poor in the south myself, I have always avoided throwing around phrases like “poor white trash” and “trailer trash”. I have found them to be offensive and prejudice statements. There is a big difference in being poor or with limited means and being trash. But, I can say with a clear conscious that these people are the very reason these stereotypes exist!

First, let me say I feel sorry for any child that is sentenced to life with a dysfunctional, druggie family. The poor children do not stand a chance and around 95% of those children grow up to continue the cycle of stupidity.
I believe Misty have most of the involvement in Haleigh’s murder.
1) Misty is a typical teenager who has been left to raise herself. She has had no moral guidance. Thus, her comments about the other women in Ron’s life and the comments she made about the kids preferring her. Jealousy at it’s worst.
2)She was addicted to drugs and liked to party.
3) She and Ron were having problems (Ron is that “upstanding” (according to NG), wife-beating, drug selling, lying, vindictive, father who’s mother’s connections in the LE world has helped him get by with many things anyone else would be doing time for commiting. I have no doubt that his mother’s connections is one reason Chrystal did not get her children. Chrystal has her faults, but the only thing Ron had going for him in a custody battle is a job and momma’s connections.
4)Misty may have “love those children like my own” but she didn’t love being tied down. What 16 to 17-year old who like to party and do drugs would?
5) Ron reportedly was close to his kids and I am sure, having witnessed similar situations, his love of his children cause friction in a marrage where the woman is an immature child who is jealous of everyone and everything that takes away from her wants and needs.
6) Haleigh was getting to the age of independance and having more of a cognizant understanding of her surroundings and what was going on. Children in school learn quickly from each other and children of less-than-perfect parents become all to aware of the difference between parents who are involved and care about their children and the ones who expect them to stay out of their hair and take care of themselve (this is probably how Misty was raised and nothing indicates she would have been any different in her handling of someone else’s children).
7)It has been reported that Ron tried to call Misty several times that night (to my knowledge, no cell phone records have been released so this is supposition). Ron and Misty had not been getting along. There were reports that Misty had been with another man. Ron is hot headed and probably very jealous of his women (especially if the allegations of wife-beating are true).
9) I had heard a rumor that Misty wanted a baby of her own and Ron said he had enough kids. (This is just rumor, but it does fit with the young girl in love with her man scenario).
10) Misty is not the innocent little girl she tries to portray in front of the cameras. Her comments to and about Ron’s baby mother’s tell you a very good story of what Misty really is.
We don’t know what words were spoken prior to Haleigh’s disappearance. I do believe that Misty was partying (or wanted to) and was angry that she had to babysit, was angry at Ron, and lost her temper with Haleigh when the child didn’t cooperate (perhaps she did wet the bed and got up and interrupted Misty’s fun). Haleigh could have seen something that she knew her daddy would not like and threatened to tell him (that happens so often in these situations).
Since we have no evidence, nothing solid to base facts on, it is all supposition. It just seems that wife-beaters and drug dealers all are very predictable in their behaviors and thinking.
I know Ron has a history and has managed to get out of many scraps. That is why I have to wonder if he didn’t stay with Misty and do the drug thing in cooperation with LE.
Just putting my theories out there.

IMO-the only way to solve this is for the investigators to work this whole mess backwards. I truly believe that if they would take MISTY and place her in PC at an out of reach Jail she would sing like a canary. If she has proven one thing its that SHE CANNOT FUNCTION without the visits and drama her family/friends create everytime they speak of or to each other. So take what she thrives on away from her and see what happens.

To clarify my previous post, it seems pretty clear to me that the majority of MISTY’S family does not have the funds or transportation available to them to visit MISTY if she was a 3 or 4 hour (or more) drive away. At this point she knows that brother TOMMY is only a few floors away and Mommy and Daddy and brother Timmy are going to provide her with Cantina funds and visits. So why not just RATTLE her world for a bit. Bet she’ll FALL APART, when the only contact she has with them is a cold black phone…just my honest opinion.
