Journalist Art Harris was invited back onto HLN’s Nancy Grace Show Thurs, March 18–changed last minute now, to Monday, we’re told–to break the latest Bald Truth exclusive in the Haleigh Cummings mystery, taking readers inside the investigation into missing five year old. Last week, our readers first learned what we later revealed on HLN March 12 (above)–that babysitter Misty Croslin wrote a letter to a relative from jail outlining her claims of what happened the night she reported Haleigh missing more than a year ago.
As invited guests on various shows, our apperances are subject to last minute topic changes or breaking news, a common occurance in the news yak bidness, nothing personal. But we try to let Bald Truth readers know soon as we can if we get rebooked. Latest now is that Haleigh is the penciled in topic on HLN’s NG show Monday night. No promises, but whenever the next round happens, we’ll do our best to bring you the latest update on the status of law enforcement’s key person of interest, Misty Croslin, who reported Haleigh missing last Feb. 10, 2009 from the trailer where she was living with father Ronald Cummings in rural Satsuma, Florida.
Investigators believe she knows far more than she’s revealed, as pressure mounts on the 18 year old accused drug dealer, facing upwards of 114 years behind bars on seven felony charges of trafficking in illegal prescription drugs.
In famly visits and taped phone calls, Croslin has revealed she could hurt two people the family “cares about” if she tells all, alluding to her brother, Tommy, behind bars in the same St. John’s County Jail (facing three years in prison for his role in the alleged drug deals) and cousin Joe Overstreet of Antioch, Tenn., who was visiting when Haleigh went missing, but has maintained his innocence. He’s been questioned, but never charged or arrested in connection with the missing child.

I will be watching tonight. I have been following this case for the longest time, and I am so afraid that my worst fears will be confirmed soon. As a mother to a little blonde girl myself, this could not hit more close to home and is one of my biggest fears in life. I just hope that whatever we finally find out, we are finally able to get some rest about Hayleigh. Art, great job on relaying the information to those of us still concerned and not being biased to what you know.

I think Misty is just grasping at any chance now to get out of jail and is trying her best to come up with a scapegoat. I think both her and Ron know exactly what happened that night. All the phone calls that night are very telling of this. I don’t believe Misty’s allegations about Joe molesting her when she was younger…aren’t they fairly close in age? Seems to me, if anything happened at all, it was normal I’ll show you mine stuff kids usually do.

I THINK MISTY IS TO BLAIME FOR THIS.EVEN IF SHE DID NOT MOVE LITTLE HALEIGH SHE HAS NOT TOLD WHAT HAPPEN. SO IF SOME ONE ELSE IS TO BLAME THAN I HOPE SHE IS STILL SOME HOW CHARGED AND WITH ALL THE DRUG CHARGES LET HER SIT IN JAIL FOR 30 YEARS. I still think the whole Haleigh overdosing story holds a lot of truth. Ron is smart enough to know that if his daughter OD’d on drugs in his house, then he would be responsible and be in a lot of trouble whether he was at work or not. He conned Misty into covering for him and probably made her believe she would be held responsible too. Had she just told the truth originally she would have probably just gotten a slap on the wrist due her her being a minor. I think the only thing Tommy may be guilty of, is helping Misty get rid of Haleigh’s body. Misty is a compulsive liar who cares about no one but herself.

Well Art if you know anything.I hope Nasty Nancy will let you speak.Misty has a reason,to keep bringing these men to the light.People need to listen,an listen good.In the beginning she brought out a few things they did to her.An this was a girl child.Need to look at anyone who would do breakins,wear dark cloths. (SNEAKY).Dispatch spoke to someone about the train,had just passed through there.Near home.I also wonder about the lone child foot print.Could Haliegh just have wandered out,headed in woods from lights outside.An fell n the river,gator got her..I saw a true story about a rail rider who use to go from town,to small town.Raping an murdering wemon,wasnt caught for yrs. I want to look at everyone there,an outsiders.Any one who is a night creaper.such as in B& E s .Where is Chad Renolds,known RSO, he did a B&E molested a child under 12,went to Putnum co jai? .He went missing when Haliegh did,an as last i read never has been seen again. Did he know them?

It would just be so much easier to hear it from you Art, the whole story instead of her biased ranting. Hi Art,
Just curious as to how Little Miss Misty is doing these days. Has she successfully completed her withdrawls? Personally, I think little Misty is living comfortably in jail, especially since she has so much money in her commissionary account. You know Art, I am sure if I ever ended up in jail, I would not get the celebrity treatment, with strangers donating money for me. Oh, I am positive no one wants to be incarcerated and not free to come and go as one pleases, but on the flip if I had control, occupants in jail would not have air conditioning, colored tvs, snacks, or much of anything else I consider privliges that one respectfully earns by being a respectable citizen in ones own commmunity and the world. Can’t fathom someone buying me transportation either. Let’s face it, this family is living the privilaged life for being a very non-respectable family. Is there anyone but me who feels like maybe if little Miss Misty had to suffer a wee bit more maybe she would suddenly find a memory?! Yes, I realize these non-nessessities are bribes but sorry this just sucks. I’m out here working trying to make money for all the slackers by paying my taxes and I get NO FREEBIES from anybody!

Since when has Misty not been telling tales. I doubt the girl knows how to tell the truth, though I do believe with all my heart she knows what the truth is. Misty’s heart is another matter altogether. I don’t think she has a heart nor a conscience.

We’re back to the cousin Joe and brother Tommy again~ If this is the truth, Misty may have kept quiet about it to keep her brother’s involvement out of it. (if, indeed, he was involved)
That could explain the headless rat in Tommy’s mailbox. It would explain her checking Ronald’s face before answering any questions. It could explain why they got married in the first place, which in reality was done in Haleigh’s MEMORY. The hard part for me is trying to understand Ronald’s behavior in relation to all of this. If he thought it was Tommy, why didn’t he delve into it? It seems to me that everyone has secrets about each other and are playing off of one another. Drug transactions, sleeping around, breaking and entering, domestic violence, unstable families, shady acquaintances, and pimps, too. There’s so many people you could point the finger at, on both sides of the family, including extended family members with known sexual histories.
I look forward to seeing the latest news tonight on NG. Last night she was more polite to her guests. I hope she has learned that her style of berating and belittling the guests is uncalled for. I give all of her guests credit for rising above her inflammatory pronouncements with grace and humor. Hope you are on tonight’s show, Art.

Art, first and foremost I would like to thank you personally for your continued diligence on Haleighs disappearance.
I have always believed that Misty knew the truth of what happened to Haleigh. I think Misty is trying to tell an account of that night that does not implicate herself. Misty has been pointing to Joe and Tommy from the beginning. If they were indeed the culprits behind Haleighs disappearance then why didn,t Misty tell all there was to tell then? Why did she continue to take the heat from LE? She said in her voice stress that if she knew who took Haleigh then she would tell.
Misty says she loved Haleigh, but I do not believe that to be true. Misty said on the UC sting tapes that Haleigh F**ked up her 17th birthday. You also reported to us what the blind neighbor told you about how Misty did not like taking care of someone elses kids and asked him to pray for her. She was also very tired that night and did not want to deal with the children. Perhaps Misty gave Haleigh something to make her sleep and Haleigh died. I just think Misty would not tell on someone that could point the finger back at her. JMO
I want Nancy to come down hard on her. I would like Nancy to show the public just how much Misty felt taking care of Haleigh was an imposition for her.
I hope LP bonds Tommy out and watch Mistys head spin like in the exorcist. Then lets see what Misty does then. Block her calls to her family from time to time and let the frustration get the best of her. Then they can convieniently forget to give her the envelopes and stamps she ordered to mail out her letters. No communication to the outside world!! Freedom, a luxury Misty will not know for a long time.

I stopped watching Nancy Grace some time ago. Tired of the 45 minutes of re-run jailhouse recording in every case.
So much for breaking news on your web-site….Why is breaking bombshell news on hold for Nancy Grace? Reliable news sources would post on there own site rather than wait for whats left of 15 minutes of fame.

The Croslin’s have another family member/cousin “Overstreet” named Brandon. He is possibly the brother or cousin of Joe Overstreet. After reading (all five page’s) of Brandon Overstreet’s My-space comment’s page (link’s below), I believe that it is a possibility Brandon could have been in Satsuma when Haleigh went missing. This does not mean Brandon knows what happened to Haleigh, or has any involvement, but he too, as the other Croslin’s, appears to have a criminal past, drug and/or alcohol abuse history and he also hops back and forth between Florida, Tennessee, Michigan and Massachusetts. If you read all of the comment’s on the five My-space pages, you will find what I am talking about. Lindsy, Chelsea and Misty have several comments on Brandon’s, “Young_Overstreet”, My-space page’s. Page one has two interesting comment’s left by Chelsea on Dec 8, 2008 (two month’s before Haleigh went missing),and Lindsy or Chelsea on Feb 20, 2009, which lead me to believe Brandon could have been in town (Satsuma) on Feb 09, 2009 or could have some other knowledge of what happened with Misty’s involvement. Joe Overstreet is also a “friend” listed as Joe and J Overstreet (two separate friend entries).

I maybe “grasping at straws” as many of us are here. I just wish for Haleigh to be found (hopefully safe and alive) or laid to rest properly and justice rendered.

If Misty has had a theory, a guess, a speculation, an idea even as to what happened why in the world wouldn’t she say it, but instead write it in a letter all this time later?? There is NO excuse for not doing everything she could to help find Haleigh. It doesn’t make sense to “protect” someone (or two) no matter who they are. Sadly the only logical reason she would do that is because she knew Haleigh was deceased and it became a matter of telling what she knew about the death of a child,including her own involvement. Even that’s no excuse! What’s amazing is she put it on paper (great evidence in court), it’s like she wants to tell but didn’t want to come right out and “snitch” as i’m sure they call it in their circle. Maybe she wants someone else to figure it out then she will verify it…maybe. If it’s just game playing LE will find out and the more she does that the more she can kiss her own *** goodbye. I am really getting fustrated that it shows you are going to be on Nancy Grace but, then she runs a diff story. This is not the first time that this has happened. Is there a way you can run the story without her instead of giving us bits about what you are going to talk about on her show? I rather hear what you have to say without Nancy stopping you and not letting you talk. I know tonights show was about Casey but, what she aired tonight was in the papers online unlike anything with the Croslins-Cummings case. I know that, that story is important but, Caylee was found and Haleigh has not been. I rather see a story that could lead to finding her. I dont really like Nancy but, when I see that she is going to be talking about the Haleigh case I will watch her show. I know that you want to find her along with almost everybody else in this world so if you could run the whole story and jail house tapes on your site without Nancy it would be more helpful to the public. BTW, I love watching you and reading your site. Keep up the great work.

You say Ron Cummings is living at a “mission”? Do you have more info on why he isn’t living with his mother or his grandmother? Is it true or just the story told to the media and court to avoid paying child support to Crystal for Junior?
I believe I heard him say on one of the drug runs that he was doing jobs here and there under the table. not exact quote, but to that effect.

Hi Art Harris, Thank you for keeping this story alive and for all you do to get us the latest information.
I’m starting to “now” believe one of the two people Misty is talking about is possibly brother Timmy? Didn’t Misty tell Chelsea its going to hurt her? Meaning Chelsea? My reasons for thinking this is b/c it was said that Misty called Timmy before calling 911. I’m now wondering if Misty called Timmy all frantic seeing that Haleigh was missing not knowing what to do considering Rons temper not to mention they were already fighting.
Did timmy take the Van, go to Misty’s trailer, prop a brick open to make it “appear” like a stranger abduction to eliminate Misty of being out that night? I find it weird too how out of all the Croslins, Timmy up and leaves here to Massachusetts. Maybe their reasonings for leaving were legit…however, I’ve heard those reasonings change from time to time. Not in order, but it was said they moved b/c it was cheaper? because of the media? because Chelsea was raised in Falmouth Ma? B/c of a better education for their kids? I mean, even their stories change as well.
During the jail house recordings when Misty and Timmy were talking, hearing Timmy say ” what do you know Misty’ and the way he said it “sounded” like the two already made sure to never tell his part in it all. Misty’s response was “nothing bubba”. It didn’t sound like a concerned “what do you know Misty” when Timmy had asked her. Listen to that part over again if you could with an open mind of thinking those two made a pact.
I had always felt that Timmy was trying to help misty not take all the heat while Nay Nay and Amber were in on Misty going out that night very well knowing someone else was going to take Haleigh leaving Misty totally in the dark with two people she thought were her friend. Obviously all speculation on my part but Misty’s half truths and all she is saying, hopefully someone can get her to talk soon.

I believe Misty propped the door open and left after the kids went to sleep. Does anyone know if Misty had a key to the trailer? Since the door would close and shut automatically if she did decide to leave she’d have to prop open the door. I believe Joe and Tommy came by, saw the kids asleep, Misty gone and left. Then Joe took the van, went back, stole Haleigh, molested and killed her. That is why the van had scratches. He must have driven it in the woods. So if Tommy told Misty he and Joe had come by, then Misty would have known Joe came back and took Haleigh because Misty has already accused Joe of sexually molesting her when she was 5, the same age as Haleigh. Why has no one questioned whether Misty had keys to the trailer? That seems like a critical bit of info since the trailer doors had to be propped open. I don’t think it was the first time that Misty (who resented having to stay home and babysit instead of party) had put the kids to sleep, then left to run around only to return before 3 A.M. so Ronald wouldn’t get a clue. It’s just the first time something happened, Please Art find out if Misty had a key, I’ve tried to call into the NG show but can never get through.

Art, I decided to check out other websites on Haleigh Commings to see if there was anything new… I realized how spoiled you have me… We are all very blessed to have you… I feel we would be lost if you shut your website down, and Haleigh would be just another COLD CASE…. I see that people on other sites don’t know what has happened from the start… Here we can look back on the begining if we have missed anything…. I read on NG website that Tommy has asked LE to give him a poygraph test to prove his innocence. I am hoping they will allow it. I know they can’t be used in court but i think they are accurate and i and others i’m sure would like to know if he can pass one. If he had no involvement in Haleigh’s disappearance and it can be proven by him taking a poly in fairness to him it should be done. I’ve never thought he killed Haleigh, she played with his kids and he has young children, but i have wondered if he was there that night and knows what happened to Haleigh. I don’t know what other’s think about it but i hope they do it. Should have been done a long time ago. Has he ever been asked to take one and refused? If he fails that could be a huge step toward LE solving the case.

Art-in the past according to reports LE had nothing to charge Misty in regards to Haleigh missing. IMO, Misty writing a letter and on tape admitting reveals that she knows what happened when Haleigh went missing. At this point in time LE has waited a little over a year to get some information from Misty regarding Haleigh, and so far all they got was lies. Question can Misty now be charged with obstruction of justice, child endangerment, etc.? Thank you!

wow! sometimes I’m speechless with the way Nancy Grace conducts herself.. she acts very immature and unreasonable to put it nicely.. she should shut up and let her colleges speak and she might learn a thing or two. I’m curious, if she has it all figured out and so sure Ronald is innocent, then how come she hasn’t cracked this case wide open, she seems very closed minded, which is why she needs to leave this to detectives and investigators and just report what the facts are and not her own theories.. the only reason her show has the ratings it has is because its the ONLY show that dedicates itself to missing children and people, it would still do well with another host..i vote for you art to host a show like this.. keep up the good work.

On or around March 17, 2010, I wrote a post to you regarding Brandon Overstreet aka “Young Overstreet”. I just wanted to know if you received the post (it was in Moderation). Is there a reason why you did not or can not answer the post? Did I unleash a can of worms? I am just curious. If there was something in that post that is wrong to question, can you inform me on that? If so, I will silence myself. It was brought to my attention that Brandon is currently in jail somewhere for a B&E.

Art, maybe Thur. huh? At times I have a hard time watching NG. I do not feel it was the right time to put down this little boys mother when she was just notifed that they found her little boy dead…. It reminds me of how nasty she was with Haleigh’s mother (Crystal)… Anyway, I have a hard time beleiving Tommy and Joe O. did anything bad to Haleigh… Also heard Misty and JR. were taken out of house to clean up crime site up – have you heard that??? Well NG is covering another story tonight which is o.k. it is important news when we are talking about these poor children who seem to have the worst type of role models and no chance at life. It is sad. I really hope to hear about this Misty letter soon. I know your doing your best Art! We all care about Haleigh and want answers. This precious child needs everyones prayers and hopefully soon she will be found. Please if anyone reading our comments knows anything at all, please help Haleigh. Mary–Agree. Maybe I’ll wait to get on set, then send out a message to someone who can pass it on last minute. that way i won’t keep baiting and switching because they keep changing. Tx for hanging in. Art

I still believe it was a SO,or pedifile who took Haliegh.Its no way they could hide this child,an nothing surface.Look back an think.Usualy when a child,or teen goes missing.Thats not found quickly,or with in a month.They usualy are found yrs later,in shallow graves.Where the pedifile has dumped them.I think thorough fear,Misty may try to remember,but she really may know nothing.I know its hard to think that ,because she was the last one to see Haliegh.But i just dont think she harmed little Haliegh

So since NG is in no hurry for the info to get out, instead of waiting for your air time, why don’t you put the info out their like a good reporter should. See you are part of the circus, you say you have something, but your waiting for NG to put you in the spotlight.

I have wondered the same thing about several of my posts: I have good points, correct grammar, respect for you — and yet most of my posts never make it past moderation. Why is this? I have been watching this case unfold from the beginning, and my point about the made-up beds is important because that small detail makes any speculation that Misty and the kids were in their trailer illogical at best. Please advise how I can successfully get my opinions posted in the future — especially since you seem to post so much material from ‘Freida’, who has such random and prolific things to say!

Art, you keep many of my letters in moderation as well. I do not make false accusations at any time and much of my information comes from you, yet you continually let my fact filled missives languish. (I took Criminal Law in school) I am surprised because looong, free streaming articles to you about things having nothing at all to do with this case are posted all the time, sometimes several from the same person, in a row!
If someone accuses me of not knowing my facts, I would like very much for them to see my resources and to know that everything I have said is true and substantiated, AND most likely from your very own site.
I think Nancy Grace may be punishing you Art, for having so many fans who stick up for you and call her on her alley cat, feral ways. Please offer your latest insights on Jane Velez Mitchell’s show instead~ You know you’ll get five minutes of airtime AND she’ll let you answer questions.

I’d like to point out two things from NG’s report tonight. She said this is the first time Misty brought up Joe but I remember Misty talking about cousin Joe way back not too long after Haleigh disappeared – she even mentioned he had messed with her when she was younger. I also don’t think it’s fair in her recaps of the case to only show partial clips like she cuts off the door pictures when the inside door closes by itself and then doesn’t show the door held open by a pile of clothes. Also in a report not long ago Misty said she saw Joe holding Haleigh – this was reported as when she was under hynosis the first time whenever it was. I admire Nancy for helping to find missing children but when she thinks someone is guilty it seems like she’s going out for vengeance instead of justice. Be back to make some points on Anthony case soon. If Misty goes to jail and Casey gets off it doeesn’t make any sense to me.

Art, my comments just sit waiting for moderation, so I will try once again. I hold a JD (Retired)as well as loud mouth NG, however, I do not understand how these cheap shows (what ever they billed them as) get access to some of the things they scream “Breaking News” “Bombshell”, in my active years if we ever tried some of these tricks, the judge would have ordered a gag order and someone would have to answer for the illegal exposure of things prior to a fair hearing in a Court of Law, not on the cable or Internet. WHY do you have to wait to break your story on NG’s show (I understand the media exposure) but surely it is important for the public to know, or is NG sandbagging you since she didn’t get the information first?
One last time, NG is a sorry excuse for a so called fighter for missing and abused children. There are so many things she could do to help, other than running weeks about grown people committing adultery (which is not a crime, only God’s law) and remember she blast one guess for mentioning God and/or religion on her show. Anyone who thinks she is concerned or cares about the missing and/or abused needs their head examined.

I think Ronald Cummings knows more than letting on. I think the cops think that if they keep Ronald and Misty in jail they will talk or “Break” but I think Misty will say anything to get out of jail. I think her whole entire family- parents included KNOW THE REAL TRUTH!!!!!! I also want to know how Misty can flunk all of these polygraph tests and then show her face on tv to say she doesnt know anything about what happened to the girl. THAT IS JUST VERY UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! Thanks Art for all you do for the poor victims!!!!!

Art!… just through months of fallowing the information and docs. on haleigh. I came across a picture of Brandon Overstreet and Misty, upon looking him up on the internet…i found some myspace pages and more information on him that seems kinda shadey. He is related to Joe Overstreet,now lives in Florida,and after all the publicity with Misty still has her picture on his personal pages. I guess ,or more if it were me i would not put that information out there for everyone to see.Is there something more to this? or has it been already cleared and he just thinks it cool? Look him up on his myspace…some interesting stuff there.
