Exclusive: Misty Croslin Letters Ban Padilla!

The Bald Truth has obtained the above letter Misty Croslin’s lawyer tells me he sent Monday via certified mail to Leonard Padilla, emanding the flamboyant California bounty hunter stay away from his client.
“Your attempts to involve yourself in Misty Croslin’s legal defense are unwarranted,” writes Palatka, Florida lawyer Robert Fields, adding that Padilla’s gift of a Ford Taurus, cell phone time and other items to her parents are “unwanted third party contact intended to convince her parents to influence her to work with you.”
And, despite what we’ve heard Misty demanding on tape–that her mother call Padilla and make a deal to bail her out — THAT just ain’t gonna happen, Fields tells me in an exclusive phone call, explaining Misty’s rant to her mother, Lisa, took place before he’d met with her last week to explain the insanity of jumping into the arms of bounty hunters like Padilla.
The black-hat cowboy tells me he wasn’t going to bond her out unless she told him everything she knew about the circumstances surrounding the 5 year old daughter of ex husband Ronald Cummings. Croslin was babysitting Haleigh over a year ago when she reported the little girl missing, then flunked an independence polygraph when she claimed to know nothing about what happened.
Police call Croslin the key to solving the mystery, and hope the $1.35 million bond on 8 drug trafficking charges that’s keeping her in the St, John’s County Jail, at least until a court hearing March 8, will keep her behind bars long enough to crack and spill what they believe she knows.
Virtually identical to a letter he sent Padilla last week, the Monday letter was mailed return receipt requested. Padilla insists he won’t bail Croslin out unless she tells him the Haleigh information up front, a deal she’s not willing to make, and signs a contract vowing he won’t revoke her bond under any circumstance.
But Padilla tells us that ain’t gonna happen either, conceding the smart thing for Croslin to do would be to confide what, if anything, she knows, to her lawyer, so he can attempt to make a deal with prosecutors to find the little girl in exchange for reducing the possible 114 years she could face if convicted on eight counts of trafficking in painkillers.

I do not see how working with LPadilla can help Misty in any way. If she tells him what she knows she will likely go right back into jail. If her lawyer can work a plea, she may be out under better circumstances.
Art, why is Atty. Fields representing Misty pro bono? He seems to get nothing out of it.

Hopefully LP will stop giving the Croslin’s money. Lisa C. was looking very happy about their “friendship” with LP and i think she was just telling Misty what she wanted to hear. I doubt she cared much if LP came up with the bond as long as he was taking care of her and Hank. I also doubt she ever intended to call LP for Misty. BTW Art, after seeing the tapes tonight of the deals with the UC i now see RC was totally involved on his own but i am wondering about one thing. Misty is in the car with the UC while RC is in another car going to Spinners. The UC tries to get Misty to go to the other location with him w/out Ronald. What do you make of that? I get that the bust was probably planned to take place there but it sounded like he was willing to do it w/out RC since RC would have been at Spinners.
NG just came on..Misty’s dad says to her “promise me you didn’t..” she shakes her head no indicating to him not to finish his sentence. He sends mixed messages. He tells her “the Haleigh stuff has to end” then turns around and tells her not to say anything that will hurt her. CLEARLY he thinks she knows more than she’s told. He brings it up a lot. ( You sure can see the difference in her now that she’s on the anti depressants, i was afraid of that, now she will sleep all the time).

Her lawyer is doing the right thing, Nobody needs to bail her because Misty knows something I think a drug dealer come in that house and got that little girl and she knows it and keeping her mouth shut.

I have a question. I myself am on the fence over psycics ,but why don’t they try to help find all these missing children isntead of making a quick dollar they should offer their “gift” to these beautiful innocent missing children , so my question is Art would you be open to them posting tip on this site for LE to maybe or cobra to maybe check up on their tips or leads?
Also IMHO i think Ron and Misty are invovled and his remark about killing whoever is a direct threat to anyone who know such as Misty he got his point to her in jail even by saying it. God Bless everyone involved in trying to bring this little girl home weather the outcome be good or bad lets just give the family that truely cares for her some peace within.

One more thing i like Padilla he may be onto something with the whole car and money thing but what would be better since recieving the letter leave them all alone and the funds will run out there wont be any phonecalls from mommy and daddy and no extra money for chips and snacks let her rough it for a while after having it a little better and just maybe she might spill what she truely knows.
Also i firmly believe if they offer her maybe witness protection from whoever she is scared of and that person/persons relatives maybe she will be more willing to tell , again i thing they have put the fear of God in her and who knows maybe she feels safer where she is at right now??? just MO

This tells us clearly that Misty knows something more about Haleigh’s disppearance than she has been willing to tell. Or, at least that her lawyer believes that she does. Otherwise, he would not have such a serious objection to LP wanting to bail her out with these terms. It also sounds like Fields plans to use this info as a bargaining chip for his client.
Who is Misty protecting? Herself? Someone in her family? Someone outside her family? Time will tell.

It is in my opinion that LP should just back off. Misty needs to be totally alone. No phone minutes , no visists, no money for the commissary. Let her realize things can be worse for her than they are right now. Misty tells her mother they will still be able to visit her and she can call them. Take it away and watch Misty break down.

to me it looks like mr. fields didnt have much contact with misty till padilla steped in,i think padilla is a good person and a good bounty hunter i wish he would of went to misty when this first happen and little haligh would of already been found.some one said padilla is doing this for advertisment ,padilla sure dont need that, his work and name shows that.they have been playing around with misty to long its time for this to come to the end, and bring peace to the family.

For a long time we have been hearing Ronald say that if he finds out who took Haleigh, he will kill him/them and face the consequence of going to jail for life. I know that everybody wonders, like I do, why he would get his daughter back and then go to jail for life. Why do you think that no reporter has ever asked him that? (Or did I miss it?)

You know I am getting tired of Padilla interjecting himself into this situation. Misti is looking at 114 yrs in prison for trafficking pills. She can’t cry her way out of this one and unfortunately nobody is on her side, including her family. I think she better start singing like a bird but she really sealed her fate with that beyond dumb move with trying to be a drug dealer. I never saw Misti so happy until I saw her getting ready to make her drug deals. Yes, it also appears she is the ring leader. Ronald is guilty but I don’t see him as the ring leader. Fun times all around for Ms. Croslin.

She has no loyalty to family as we can tell by her turning info on her own brother and she must know that Ronald is playing her for a fool! She better wake up and take her Dads advice and come clean. There is so much speculation out there about what happened to little Haleigh but IMO it is really simple…..It is highly improbable that Misty knows nothing based on the physical evidence that LE says doesn’t match her story. Sooooo the fact that Misty has not revealed any more important details only means one thing – that she killed Haliegh (on purpose or by accident) AND she will take this to her grave as 8 counts of trafficing is not too much more or less time in jail then a murder conviction. It is highly improbable that anybody else was involved because druggies roll fast. I hope LE can find some proof to convict her on because IMO she did it, acted alone and will never talk….Just like Casey Anthony.

I am glad to hear that Padilla will not be bonding Misty out! He must have money to blow if he is willing to give a car (hopefully he also will be paying for the insurance for said car), rent money for these families, minutes for all their cell phones, plus whatever spending money he has provided. This case has been dead too long and it’s time to squeeze her, Ron, and Tommy till someone talks.

Watched NG tonight,it’s always enlightening, learn a little more each time i watch. First i want to say i am starting to have a certain respect for Misty’s dad Hank. He, much more than his wife or daughter, seems to really care about Haleigh and what happened to her.(Although, what did he mean by “just for the drugs?” talkng about RC) Like the Anthony’s, he doesn’t want to believe his daughter could be involved but at the same time is asking questions because he has doubts. Sometimes the eye contact between her and her visitors makes you wonder if everyone knows more than they are saying and have to remind each other they are being taped. Could Hank purposely be trying to get Misty to talk about Haleigh? He’s asking the most questions.
Second, her cousin Joe was talked about. I realize the main source of that is the Croslin’s which could be just a “red Herring” but…what if he and Misty were doing some form of drugs that night at the trailer, knowing Ron hated him she wouldn’t want to ever admit he was in Ronald’s home. Maybe Misty fell asleep, and if it’s true Joe is a convicted sex offender. I don’t think the van thing should be downplayed ( i rarely disagree with you and/or NG) If Joe did something to Haleigh and he needed wheels. He could have propped open the back door to take her out and never came back. The thing about him hanging the posters the next day doesn’t seem that far-fetched, nobody was looking at him that day. Didn’t take him long to get out of town, and possibly taking Haleigh out of Satsuma with him.
I suppose it’s possible this is going to be the big news Misty would tell LP if it ever got that far. The biggest problem i can see with this theory is the limited time window. If Tommy went there at 10 and saw nothing going on, it had already happened or Joe was hiding. One thing is sure, if she had anything to do with it she would have needed help in taking Haleigh somewhere. If she wasn’t directly involved, she might know who was and if it was her cousin imagine the rage from Ron knowing that child molester was anywhere near his kids. I said this before, the only theory we have ever heard from Misty was a mere few days after Haleigh vanished and she insinuated it was her cousin Joe. That was very early on, so i think it’s a real possibility. What do you think Art, like everyone else who posts on your site i value your opinions very much. Thanks.

Who the hell cares what motivates Padilla if something he does gets results and Haleigh is found. All of the rest of you are making a buck sensationalizing every tragic event yet you berate a man who could possibly get results where no one in the media could. Personally, I think the media stinks. Nancy Grace, and the like, hiding under the “caring” umbrella. Bull! There were a LOT of news worthy stories over the course of two months spent on who Tiger may or may not have been screwing. The only time Ron brings up Haleigh is when he knows he’s being taped. Misty might be a druggie.. but not a child killer IMO. Of the 2, I’d lay 100-1 Ron had more to do with Heleighs demise. What is her lawyer waiting for? Why have to try to even block LP? Do you think it is because the lawyer himself hasn’t even got out of MC what she knows, and therefore hasn’t been able to plea anything? I’m sure he doesn’t want her telling LP stuff that he himself doesn’t even know

The right person is in jail – Misty. It’s all about her. If she had a trump card to play, she would have played it. I will add something else to my theory about where Misty was the night Haleigh disappeared. She was in on a drug deal. She’s not going to “come clean” about where she was. This is all about party time, and delivery and taking people with her. If she makes bail and talks, she will never go to trial. She will end up in the same place poor little Haleigh did, only for different reasons. We are talking major drug deals and big time dealers. Misty is not stupid. She’s one “spoke” in a very big wheel of crime. She should be offered the same deal Haleigh was offered… Nothing !!

It’s possible someone forced Haleigh to take a pill so she would sleep whether at a party or at home and didn’t realize the consequences until it was too late. If there was an ingestion of Oxycontin or any other pill, I don’t believe it was “accidental” but my guess is that this is what happened and not wanting to be honest and tell Ronald the truth, this tangled web of lies began. Everyone has gone too far to be truthful now so they are going to continue either keeping their mouths shut or drumming up possible theories to create a diversion from the truth.

After seeing misty in tv interviews and on these jailhouse videos, I have to conclude she is totally innocent. Every single facial expression and word is consistent with her being innocent. I have not seen a single sign of guilt in any of the major players. not sure about cuz joe because have not seen him. I think most of the experts on the nancy grace show would agree with me. Nancy is clearly a bully who does not care about right and wrong. she wants ratings and a stranger abduction is boring. The defense lawyers were right when they warned that misty was going to get in big trouble if she did listen to her lawyer. This completely innocent person has been convicted in the court of public opinion with zero evidence.

Art I was just wondering the night missy and ron called 911 why did they have to turn the house upside down looking for her.IMO I think they were making sure there were no drugs in the house and any guns. Did Missy just wash one blanket and why did she have to wash if Rons family did the washing that evening?And for Ron to send her brother over there. that late at night why didnt he send his mom to check on the kids and missy.DHS and i was wanting to know where ron said if he had 35,000 he could get his child back. Art- I have a few questions…last night (3/1/10)on NG, she said that the video we saw was a secret recording(why more secret then any of the others?)Anyway, during te conversation with her father, Misty is talking about someone getting her out of jail, and that he will get her a new lawyer…was she referring to Padilla or Cobra? Was this video made before or after Mr. Field’s sent the letter to cease and desist to Padilla? (Nancy doesn’t make that part clear at all) Now we are left wondering f MIsty is planning on going against her attorney’s advice, or if she is going to do anything she can to just get out of jail.
I agree with a comment someone made earlier on, I watch NG every night, but lately she has changed. I don’t appreciate the way she talks to you what so ever. When she has you on,she should be more appreciative of all the work you do in uncovering information. She talks the same way to Padilla. And of course there is still the fact, that she has her high infatuation(or whatever you want to call it) with good old Ronnie !! I was beyond myself,while watching one of her previous shows, when she actually said”Evn if an Angel came down and told me Ronald was guilty in his daughters disappearnace, it would be on, and we would tangle”(not word for word…but that was the jest of it) Since when is Nancy so blind sided by crocodile tears? Ronald does hve Nancy Snowed !! Between his yes Ma’ams, and Ms. Nancy’s and his crocodile tears ! NO matter how you want to look at it, ROnald made the first mistake…if he loved his children as much as he claimed, WHY would he even want to leave them with Misty after her weekend of sex drug and cavorting ! SHe was still all messed up, and only wanted either another pill, or to just sleep. I for one would nevre leave my children with someone in that condition ! There were other options, offers were made to watch the children with Ronalds permission, which out of his anger towards Misty he didn’t take. And lok at what it got him !! What a family !! Even his mother, the so called “loving grand mother” said no to looking after them !

Lots of speculations going on in this case..however, if RC was having a proplem with Tommy,why would he call him to go check on Misty that night? might be she was zonked out , and didnt hear the banging on the door, but lil Haliegh did, and got up and opened it for him thinking it was her daddy banging. Tommy being the thief,druggie, checked things out..took haliegh, and well you guess the rest.would not tommy’s wife know he left to go over there? and when he arrived back. Or same with the cousin Joe..IF your dealing in drugs, it attracts users to your house.. But nothing makes me sick to think some of the goofys took advantage of that child..maybe in a revenge toward RC,as hot headed is he is,prolly had lots of enemys. My Mom always sid , if you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas..It down look like ither one Misty or Ron have any deepness to them..they seem to love to be important, in controll..they had a business..Seems that Misty’s family is always on the move, when things get hot. Her father was Dr shopping? guess where all this might have started from..folks please , if your dealing in scum, dont have children living with you. Look at that lady who sold her daughter to that scum for drugs, then he raped and killed her..you know things are bad,when drugs can even get into prisons cells,,how?

I think her desire to get out of jail will override her commonsense (if she has any) and let Leonard Padilla bail her out. Robert Fields will resign from the case over the Haliegh thing.Misty’s court heraring is March 8, Fields will plead her not guilty(despite the tapes), she’ll be remanded and when she sees what she is facing,114 years, she’s gonna sing, loud and clear,”I know what you did Ronald” and when Leonard bails her out he’ll know he bought a “pig in a poke”,revoke her bond and we’ll start all over again. WATCH WHAT HAPPENS ON MARCH8.

Why should Misty talk? Sure she’s in jail, but she is getting drugs and money for food. All she has to do is eat and sleep. Put her with the other prisoners, and she’ll tell what she knows.

I’m pretty sure LE is keeping everything close to their chest. Misty and Ron are the thickest of theives and the more this story plays out the more I see this. Ron and Misty and those other druggies and misfits including Misty’s family members, know what happened to Haleigh! All things aside, little Jr., if he were ever hypnotized, I’m sure, he could tell the full story of what exactly happened to Haleigh. It gets me that this little girl is still missing over a year now and these assholes and idiots are playing coy and milking every thing they can from this tragic situation. Misty is as cold as ice, she had no feelings for this child. Ron of course, being the fine,drug dealing father, could afford a few crocodile tears and tell the rest of the gang of what an advantage it is to keep Their mouths shut or else. Sadly, I believe, this little child is not alive anymore and probably got carried away in a black garbage bag, in the night, by someone in the family circle. Misty and Ron need to rot in jail. This is the best thing for little Jr., when he grows up he is going to need therapy because he saw what happened to his sister.

I believe Misty initially acted alone. I am not sure if she hurt the little girl on purpose or if it was some sort of accident.The reason I believe this is because of the door being propped open. This is a women thing and if any mother thinks back we have probably all done it. My child has fallen asleep on the couch before, and if my husband isn’t there to help me I will go upstairs and open his b.r. door before I carry him up because I am not strong enough to hold him in one arm and use the other to open the door.
However, I do believe that Misty had help moving the body later(most likely the cousin) I think the body was originally in that dumpster that the dogs hit on and that the cousin removed it from there for her and has dumped her somewhere between Satsuma and Tn. He will not tell because he knows that now he has invoved himself and Misty is going to pin the whole thing on him. No matter what she says now, or who she tries to pin it on I know she did it because she would not be covering so long for anyone but herself!!!!

If I hear Nancy G say she has a soft spot for that delinquent, Ronald Cummings, again, I won’t be able to take it. I scream at the TV & argue with her constantly when she does that. This is my opinion:
Misty killed Haleigh. She knows she did it. She was not sleeping when it happened. Whether it was accidental or on purpose, I do not know. There has to be a lot of truth in the theory about the party & Haleigh taking the Oxycontin. That rumor didn’t start out of the blue. Ronald is as guilty because he took their childred away from the bio mom because she had a drug problem, he was abusive toward the mom, then not only did he take those children to someone immature who also had a drug problem, but HE HIMSELF, was abusing drugs and lived around people that did drugs as well.
I always saw Crystal trying to comfort Ronald’s mother right after Haleigh’s dissapearance. That woman is a BITCH. She had the audacity to clarify in the Nancy G. show that Crystal & Ronald were never married. Always trying to put Crystal down & defending Misty. What was the need for that at a time when the child was missing & she was supposedly in so much pain? Who would think of things like that, if u are going thru such pain? Mother & Son, both. Pieces of TRASH. When Crystal appeared in the show she told Nancy G that Misty did drugs, Nancy chastised her & told her, “Why did you say that. How would u know?” Poor Crystal, embarrased said her, “I’ve heard about it.” Nancy as a mother, should try to put herself in Crystal’s shoes & not in Ronald’s. I don’t like the positions she’s taken. She’s not being fair at all. As a Sr. Counselor for Dept of Children & Fam. I’d never let RC see that boy EVER again & I’d give full custody to the bio mom! I’d never let the grandma see the boy again either for intruding w/the visitations & disturbing w/emotions toward the mother. She showed plenty in the few times I was able to see her interact with the bio mom & the paternal grandma badmouth the mom.
RonaldC makes comments in jail, making it sound like the police is letting him in and is in agreements about what’s going on with their interviews with Misty because of Haleigh, minimizing his involvement in the drug transactions. He’s in for the ride. I hope he ROTS in jail, where he belongs. His mother said she’s proud of him. She also said that Crystal’s family was “dysfunctional.” Well lady, look who IS “Dysfunctional” now!!! You, B%&*%$&^%!!! You are Proud of a F*&^%% DELINQUENT, That’s what your son is!!! And wait till they find him involved in the murder of your granddaughter, just like Casey Anthony…

Juggler and Sideliner, Both of you believe a I do as to what happened to Little Haleigh and about the guilty ones, Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin. They are and will pay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, for the others in the Cummings and Croslin families, if they know and don’t tell, they deserve jail time, too.

SUSIE, Your comment, I agree with you. From what I have heard about criminals in jail, they don’t “much like” child abusers and child killers. Ronald and Misty should be with them.
Also SUSIE, I wonder why Ronald Cummings is in Putnam County Jail and Misty is in St. John’s County. Could it be Cummings is “known” to the friendly jailers due to his many arrest in Putnam County? What do you think?
As we all are hoping, what did they do with/to Haleigh?
In one of the first interviews, Misty says, “I didn’t do nothing “with/to” that little girl!” ooops! With???

MY feeling is not something I can prove, just something from my gut. Misty, and Ron are into drugs, the people they associate with are addicts and users. The smart thing would be to have a very well trained watch dog guard his kids not an under age bimbo.
I think Misty is scard to say what happened to the kid. One, she dosen’t really know and two she could be signing her own death warrent. Ron knows Misty did not do anything to the child that is why he hangs with her. He obvviously dosen’t think she has any guilt. He knows this has to do with drugs and the people in his life. His life style killed this little girl, amnd he knows it. His tears in the beginning were genunine but they were also tears because he knws more than he tells and he hs directed Misty to keep her mouth shut. Misty loves this man the way any little girl can fall under the spell of an older man. (which is why this kind of relationship is against the law)My guess is in a few years when Misty grows up and decieds Ron is not able to walk on water she will talk.

IMO…Maybe Misty gave Haleigh something to make her sleep that night and she OD's..They said Misty was coming down from a wild week-end..If Joe had hurt Haleigh Misty would of called Ron right away..She is sooooo crazy about Ron she'll do anything including not telling him she accidentally killed Haleigh.

Interrogate Misty, that will make her say what we think she should say. Didn't work? Entrap her in a drug deal and put her behind bars and watch how fast she tells us everything. Didn't work? Sentence her to 25 years in prison – then she'll talk! Didn't work. Let the other prisoners beat and rape her – that will I'm right, says Susie.
Susie, let's put aside the question of what kind of person you really are, and consider for a moment one question: What if Misty has told everything she knows? There is no more to squeeze out of her. Maybe we should look for the real perpetrator.
In Salem during the witch hysteria in the 1600s, someone accused of being a witch had to pass a test. They were tied to a weight and sunk underwater. If they floated to the top they were declared a witch and killed. If they drowned they were declared innocent (but dead). That's the ridiculous standard you want to apply to Misty.
