“No Stranger Took Haleigh Cummings!”

Haleigh Cummings, 5, missing one year tomorrow…
By Bald Truth Staff, (c) www.artharris.com, all rights reserved
Here’s the Putnam County Sheriff Department’s Media release we just received updating the public on the status of the Haleigh Cummings investigation:
“As many of you know, February 10, 2010 marks the one year anniversary of Haleigh Cummings’ disappearance from her home in Satsuma, Florida. Sheriff Jeff Hardy understands the public’s interest in this investigation, and everyone’s desire for the return of Haleigh to her family. Sheriff Hardy has asked that the following information be released to the public in an effort to provide insight into the investigative efforts being taken to bring this case to a logical conclusion.
The disappearance of Haleigh Cummings is still being considered an “active” investigation, and a team of detectives are currently assigned to this case. Investigators from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and investigators from agencies throughout the country have invested thousands of man-hours into this investigation thus far.
Here are some of the facts:
We have received 5,768 leads, all of which have been followed up on by investigators.
Approximately 600 of the leads received have come from psychics or individuals claiming to have special abilities. All of these leads have been reviewed by investigators, and leads containing specific information that can be verified have been followed up on.
The majority of the leads received are suggestions or opinions from citizens stating who they believe is responsible for Haleigh’s disappearance, and/or how the investigation should be conducted. These types of leads are reviewed by the investigative team, but many of these require little or no follow up investigation.
We have conducted formal interviews with 76 different individuals who were identified as having possible information in the Haleigh investigation. DNA samples were collected from many of those interviewed and compared to evidence collected in the case.
218 separate interviews have been either audio or video recorded by investigators.
When situations have dictated, investigators have traveled out of state to conduct these interviews.
We have received 644 reported Haleigh sightings from various cities and locations throughout the United States.
Investigators have either personally determined that these were false sightings, or asked for assistance from local law enforcement agencies where the alleged sightings took place to follow up on the information. To date, none of the reported sightings have been determined to be credible.
FDLE processed the crime scene. Many items of potential evidentiary value were collected and sent to FDLE’s crime lab for analysis (i.e. for fingerprints and DNA). All of evidence has been examined and/or processed, but none of it has identified any suspect or additional leads as to who the suspect(s) may be.
We have searched thousands of acres, including all property south of Highway 17 near the Cummings residence.
We have had numerous underwater recovery and search teams search all of the water near the area of the disappearance.
Aviation assets have conducted several airborne searches. K9 assets have searched the area on several occasions.
Volunteer civilian searchers on foot and horseback searched the wooded areas near the residence.
As previously released, it is very unlikely that Haleigh’s disappearance is the work of a stranger.
Evidence and information obtained during this investigation indicate a strong likelihood that Haleigh’s disappearance is the result of foul play by someone known to Misty Croslin and/or Ronald Cummings.
There is no specific individual whom investigators have identified as a person of interest. Investigators still believe that Misty Croslin holds important answers in this case. She still refuses to provide any sort of detailed accounting of the hours during the late evening and early morning of Haleigh’s disappearance.
Furthermore, physical evidence at the scene contradicts Misty’s sketchy account of her evening activities.
Investigators ask that anyone with direct knowledge of Misty’s activities during that evening of February 9, 2009, or into the early morning of February 10, 2009, is encouraged to report that information to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Information may be submitted by calling Northeast Crime Stoppers at (888) 277-TIPS (8477), or e-mailing the information to haleigh@putnamsheriff.org.
The recent arrests of Misty Croslin, Ronald Cummings, Hank Thomas Croslin Jr., Hope Sykes, and Donna Brock, on drug trafficking charges have caused some media outlets to question the intentions behind these arrests. Sheriff Hardy wants to assure the public that these narcotic cases were not a result of the Haleigh investigation. Independent information was received by narcotics detectives that these individuals were unlawfully selling prescription medications. The State Attorney’s Office was consulted at the onset of the narcotics investigation, and it was recommended that the missing person case and the narcotics cases remain totally separate to avoid legal conflicts in both cases. The Haleigh investigative team was not made aware of the narcotics cases until January 20, 2010, just prior to all five individuals being arrested.
Investigators assigned to Haleigh Cummings’ disappearance have interviewed these five (5) individuals in the past, some on multiple occasions. However, investigators will take advantage of every opportunity given to speak with any individual who possibly holds information regarding Haleigh’s disappearance.
Sheriff Hardy realizes the importance of keeping Haleigh in the spotlight and the public involved in this case.
He appreciates all of the leads and tips that have been provided, and wants to assure everyone that each lead and tip is acted on by investigators. Sheriff Hardy wants to reassure the public, but mainly Haleigh’s family, that we will continue to aggressively pursue this case until Haleigh is found.

It says unlikely not that they are sure. It also sounds like they are saying Misty is not the suspect. Just holds clues? Sounds to me like the PCSO is lost. I hope I am very wrong.
February 9th, 2010 at 8:36 pm
Art do you believe they are using the term Foul play as in murdered or abducted? It states that there was evidence along with info that leads them to believe it was foul play. I hope I am taking this the right way. The evidence was found in the home not else where. I am also taking that the finger prints and dna does not match anyone outside of the home. Only those who live there or recently may have visited. Please correct me if I am percieving this incorrectly. GODS SPEED

Art, Is Cummings going to be released on “drug” charges like he has been for many drug related charges? This is a major concern for the public and for Misty, surely. After all, he has threatened murder. Cummings wants Misty to know that. She ain’t gonna’ tell on him until she knows he is sentenced to the Big House for a long time. If Cummings loves little Jr., why would he not consider loving him and help financially to raise Jr. (when and if he murders someone/s)? Guess he just doesn’t care, huh. Poor baby Haleigh and Junior should have been with their mommy. jmo

“NO STRANGER TOOK HALEIGH CUMMINGS.” SO TRUE, SO TRUE, WE AGREE! KEEP THE DRUG RELATED PRESSURE ON ALL OF THEM! HOWEVER, SHERIFF HARDY, PLEASE DON’T LET CUMMINGS GO FREE! WHAT A SCARY THOUGHT! JMO

Sheriff Jeff Hardy understands the public’s interest in this investigation, and everyone’s desire for the return of Haleigh to her family.
I hope if Haleigh is found alive she is not returned to either family!!!

I agree, it is not a stranger abduction..It’s going to take a fresh set of eyes, thoughts and ideas to break this case..LE is at a stand still..That one tip could break it, but the party/s involved are scared of retaliation if they tell what they know..If Misty and Ron are solely responsible, Misty will never tell for fear Ron will kill her, as he has promised. I think this is heading for “cold case file”..
I wish I had hope, but I just don’t anymore..
IMO
February 9th, 2010 at 11:33 pm
Art, I am not one to try and decide guilt or innocence, but after hearing that Misty said she didn’t want to baby sit the evening I can’t help thinking that perhaps her and her 3 day party friends could have had a drug debt and planned to trade Haileigh to pay or put up collateral for drugs. Maybe at the last minute she got cold feet and tried to back out by not babysitting but Teresa insisted and she couldn’t get out of it. Then she or all of the party trio staged an abduction. That is why Ron keeps saying 2,3,or 4. I don’t think he is directly responsible but when you have drug conections you are always putting your kids in the line o9f fire. this has just been on my mind, thought I would run it past you, thanks!

Hi Art,
Thanks for keeping us posted on Haleigh’s case. The above LE statement comes across as though LE is completely baffled and has not significantly narrowed down the list of suspects. Someone ‘known to Misty or Ron’ includes those two, their family members, their drug world associates, and could easily encompass 50-60 people.
Art, in your opinion, does LE still have a very long list of possible suspects or is LE merely playing their cards very close to the vest?

I think this is all very true, I don’t believe a stranger took Haleigh either. The one thing I do not understand, is that if Jr. saw a “man in black” taking his sister, why did he not yell? With Misty’s ever changing stories, it is so hard to know what is true and what isn’t. I know that Misty did not want to “babysit” that night because she was wiped out from her weekend of sex, drugs, and debauchery, she called Teresa Neves and told her so, and asked her if she would. Apparently she said no. I also have read that Misty’s sister-inlaw, offered to watch the children at her house if it was okay with Ronald(obviously it must not have been okay with him) Had anyone listened, had anyone truly cared, they would not have left the children with Misty on that night, for their own wellbeing and safety. I am beginning to take stock in Leonard Padilla’s theory as to what happened that night, therefore, Misty is not the only one to blame, and LE should look into Ronald’s “drug affiliations” more closely. Misty is not being truthful, but I also don’t believe Ronald is either.

I hope and pray this little girl is safe, somewhere but I really doubt it. i hope if she is dead, she can be found and laid to rest.I believe she’s in heaven and no one can ever hurt her again. Some one knows, and how you can live with yourself it is beyond me.If it were your child you would want to know what happened to her, whoever you are!!!!!!
February 10th, 2010 at 12:33 am
Fact is PCSO has continued to work diligently to find the person responsible. They should not be scrutinized for what the “public” believes they lack. I have faith this will come to a resolution.
February 10th, 2010 at 12:35 am
Art,
Maybe you can help clear something up for me. Misty’s cousin was cleared by LE a long time ago, can you explain why?
Here’s what i recall hearing and i am wondering if i got something wrong along the way. Misty’s cousin and Ronald had a fight where there was a gun involved. A gun associated to that fight was found in a ditch nearby. Her cousin left Fla to go home to Tennessee the same night Haleigh went missing.
On national tv, Misty was talking about her cousin. She sounded like she was saying she wouldn’t put anything past him and that she didn’t like him. It seemed like she was insinuating he did something, and that is the closest she has ever came to even giving a theory as to what happened.
Also, in the first few days Ronald made a statement that went something like “please bring her back, she’s a child she’s not a thing, don’t take your anger for me out on my daughter”, as if he thought someone took her for revenge.
I’m just curious if i got it right, that he did leave Fla the same night. If so and he was either helping Misty if she did something to Haleigh or if he was getting revenge on Ronald, Haleigh would have been a long way from Satsuma by the time 911 was called. That might also help explain the incredible coincidence that Misty just happened to wake up 15 minutes or so before Ronald got home from work, giving him more time to get away from the area.
So, are they absolutely sure he didn’t have anything to do with it? They seemed to clear him rather quickly. Not saying they didn’t do a thorough job or asked the same questions i am,but he was one of the few people they admittedly had problems with.
Sad it’s been a year and Haleigh has not been found yet.I am so glad LE is still on this case.

As I write this, its 11:30 pm, Feb 9th 2010.. I sit, a mile plus away from the scene of this terrible crime, and wished there was a away to be there a year ago, as this all unfolded.
The statement that this press release makes, is powerful, even if it is only one line..
..As previously released, it is very unlikely that Haleigh’s disappearance is the work of a stranger…
While I do understand the need to protect the inoccent and punish the guilty, Anyone who has read my prior posts knows I am of the firm belief that there are other ways to get the answers, and punish those that are truly responsible.. for the crime and more over, hindering and investigation..
Misty crying about being in protective custody? Ron Deflecting the fact that he was dealing drugs.. WHILE he had custody of Haleighs little brother.. When he gets arrested, of course he grants interviews, Hell I am surprised Art wasnt given access.. Was he dealing drugs to raise the REWARD?
Tell you what.. Move them from protective custody to general population.. And make sure the PA system is working as they guide them in..
” Ladies, attention please, we have a new guest joining you, somewhat famous.. This is Misty Croslin, the young lady that was the last person to see Haleigh Cummins.. Now you women with children of your own, you play nice..”
And then, let her beg to tell what she really knows..
February 10th, 2010 at 1:33 am
If they have so much physical evidence why is she not on charges of this crime? What exactly is the issue with the time line”not detailed enough” Its the same old song and dance. FBI Profilers like the one that said in regards to the eight year old killed by a woman”woman rarely commit these crimes” Or the couple who takes a child”Were sorry were learning” A colonel who turns out to be a murderer “It’s unusual for someone like him and with no record” A father of two turns out to be serial killer no record ” that is out of the norm” IMHO Predators are like viruses and those who read them, spot them, can catch them by tell tale signs are the vaccine. They do like any virus they morph to out do the vaccine put on a better mask to fool better. If you say they are likely to have records then they will try harder not to etc etc. IMHO their not one specific kind of common traits their commelians of what ever kind it is they need to be instantly in the moment to out fool everybody.
God Bless Haleigh and all her families

I should’ve said ‘rotten-egg well water.’
February 10th, 2010 at 2:40 am
I have never heard why it took the bio mother all those hours to get to the house where her daughter lived, being informed that they feel someone took her daughter from her bed..
How many parents would of drove as fast as they could to get to the situation at hand, nothing could of stopped me..
February 10th, 2010 at 2:52 am
Thanks Art!
It’s understandable, separating the drug case from the Haleigh case. However, the people arrested are the people involved in Haleigh missing. I bet that the only finger prints, etc., that were found in that trailer were Misty’s and Ronald’s? Or the Cummings and Croslins.
One year later and still no Haleigh. All the evidence point to Misty and Ronald, and what about the cadaver dogs hitting on several areas near the trailer? `Was that disregarded by LE?
Art-Do you know why LE never charged Misty or Ronald with child neglect leading to child endangerment charges? And, why didn’t LE charge Misty with obstruction of justice? Again thank you!
God Bless Haleigh!
February 10th, 2010 at 2:58 am
Thought I saw Haleigh on the Food Channel, in one of those diners, drive-ins, or dives…I’m not kidding…although certain it wasn’t her.
This is the photo I was searching for last night, or more than likely early this morning.
Then I was trying to find a picture of someone with a small bite…after all, she did ‘back hand’ a child.
Most people find it really hard to intervene, and it’s not just because they’re worried about getting sued…it takes a lot of guts.
February 10th, 2010 at 3:01 am
Oh, by the way…bet you’re rather relieved that you had another night off to catch up on your reading.
Watched NG tonight, caught a rerun, and instead of making an even bigger mess out of a pile of garbage and hauling it away to ‘lock it up’…might be cheaper to just build a warehouse around the pit…and secure ‘that’ location, location, location.
February 10th, 2010 at 3:07 am
Well i am glad to hear, this report.
February 10th, 2010 at 3:37 am
J,an Kathy, you both bring good points up. i will say thi.,An many may not care for it.But other than being druggies. I have wrestled with this a long time. But i think many are barking up the wrong tree, when looking at Misty,an Ron.If she ever is found,an its found out who the nut is who took her–Many will be shocked. I have cried,an prayed over this a many a night. No fights please lol,its a strong feeling i have had a long time.If wrong,i will be the first to say so.
February 10th, 2010 at 3:44 am
very unlikly, that leaves a space .that it could have been a stranger they just dont know.
February 10th, 2010 at 3:51 am
I just can’t get past the way the doors were open. For someone to bring a cinder block to the scene they had to know about how the doors shut. Where else would it come from if someone didn’t bring it there?? Ron said he locked the doors before going to work and Misty said they were locked when she went to bed. How did someone get in if those doors were locked? If they came in a different door why not go out the way they got in? Tommy said he went there and knocked loudly around 10pm and didn’t get an answer so he left. How did someone know they would all be sleeping so bring the block to prop open the door? We have learned that people do that to carry something that requires two hands, they don’t have to fool around with getting a door open if it’s propped open. So, someone had to know where Haleigh was sleeping, had to know they could get past Misty a few feet away, had to rely on Haleigh not making a sound, had to get past locked doors, had to prop open doors which could easily wake someone up, TURNED A LIGHT ON, all this knowing Misty wasn’t going to wake up?? It’s pretty obvious why LE doesn’t buy her story and amazing that Ronald does. From the very beginning he assumed Haleigh had been “stole”, but how does Ronald explain all these factors?
February 10th, 2010 at 4:27 am
I just thought of one place someone can find a cement block…underneath any trailer. They use them for support. How deep of a hole would one have to dig to avoid the dogs detecting anything? I know this thought is as big a long shot as any can be, but i noticed the skirting in the back of their trailer was not in tact. Was the ground underneath the trailer fully checked out and could someone have been able to dig a deep enough hole under a trailer to hide a small body? Far fetched i know but it’s been a year now and you never know when a casual observers guess might end up helping somehow. She had no car and not much time, it doesn’t hurt to check out every possibility even if it’s a long shot, if they haven’t already. I must just be tired, because who would be stupid enough to bury a body right under everyone’s noses, hoping they won’t look? But then again..Casey A’s daughter’s body was found 1/4 mile from home so ya never know.

I found this aricle to be interesting, especially where GS states “On Feb. 9, the night after Croslin returned to Cummings’ mobile home from the weekend of partying, Sykes dropped by. She said she was upset that Croslin had gone off and left her grandson without anyone to watch over the two kids.”

“Bring this case to a logical conclusion”
Thank you, Art, for your continuing coverage on Haleigh’s case. I pray for Haleigh and her family as we begin our second year of not knowing hwere this little girl is, or what happened to her. I pray that the people responsible for her disappearance find their conscience and come forward with the truth.
February 10th, 2010 at 10:09 am
Lynn–Re charging with lesser offenses…those are tougher to prove and might not amount to much, plus very hard to get the kind of high bonds to keep her in jail and make her sweat unless she’s caught red handed with something like trafficking that carries mandatory minimums…a state attorney is unlikely to greenlight a case he can’t win…This one he can, with consequences they can use to bargain…Art
February 10th, 2010 at 11:44 am
The jail video was interesting. The “little girl” cried to her parents, yet her forehead never crinkled the way crying makes it. Hmm. Her dad: “we don’t have the gas money to visit you” was comical. They all have existed off the tax payers of Florida and work hard at not working.
Misty then speaks to her brother and there is no crying, just manipulation. She is pressing him to get HIS WIFE’S family to cough up money! The apples don’t fall far from the trees.
She has also refused to get a job, or even do homework to stay in school. She just wants to get high, and now her brother’s in laws should take THEIR hard earned money and post bond??
This is one entitled little….
By the way, the statistics of killers who call 911 is mindboggling. Remember Misty reported three things, in this order, showing what was most important to her. She told the 911 operator:
1. She was asleep
2. The door was open.
and, 3, by the way, a child is missing.
Misty is responsible for the death of Haliegh Cummings OR she would have come clean a long time ago.
By the way: A person who blacks out WILL NOT FAIL a polygraph because their body will NOT react to what THEY DO NOT RECALL.
Art, please tell Nancy Grace this basic little fact of polygraphs.
February 10th, 2010 at 11:44 am
Kathy L. That’s a very good point. Surely they checked under the trailer for evidence but I don’t recall hearing that they did. Also, under trailers and especially one that is skirted, the ground stays moist and would make it easier to dig. Hopefully, the skirting was completely removed and they let the dogs out to run underneath.
February 10th, 2010 at 11:59 am
so why does Nancy keep canceling on this case? And will she be doing a 1 year anniversary show tonight???
Thanks Art!
February 10th, 2010 at 12:16 pm
Why did the Cummings have a wheelchair ramp leading to their back door? Who do they know that is handicapped or requires a wheelchair? Did the previous owner or occupants of the trailer require a wheelchair ramp? On a daily basis, did they enter the trailer using the front or back door? These are just some questions going through my mind.
I agree with the poster above. Someone propped the outside door with a block and propped the entry door with dirty clothes. Because, they knew the entrance door would partcially close (not latch, as in quiet). I also, think the outside(storm door/screen door) door was propped open to keep it from slamming shut (as in making noise). I agree with the poster above. WHOEVER it was knew the characteristics of those doors.
I am not sure if the angle of a person in a wheelchair being responsible or being involved has been explored. Just wanted to through this out there.
February 10th, 2010 at 1:44 pm
Looks to me like the police working on this case have gone to extra lengths to find Haliegh or find out what happened to her. That little girl haunts many of us and I know I’d like to have some closure and I’m not close to the case like they are.
As a recovering addict I can tell you a jonesing addict will do anything to get their drug of choice. I don’t put anything past any of them and Grandma Teresa will do anything to keep her son out of trouble and keep him happy. Looks like maybe there’s some emotional incest going on between Ron and his mom, which is common with a dysfunctional family. What can I say about Misty and her family that hasn’t already been said, they are pathetic.
I wonder if Teresa working with the police had anything to do with the judge giving those kids to Ron. Boy did that judge screw up.
I’m so happy the little boy is with his mom. With lots of counseling Crystal can give him the mother’s love he so desperately needs but they will need counseling and support. Twelve step support will help both of them. Some alanon and if Crystal has a drug problem for God’s sake Crystal get a sponsor and stay close to her.
February 10th, 2010 at 2:53 pm
I donot think ron is all that innocent if he was he wouldn’t have married misty i think something happened before Ron went to work. I think Haleigh got in to Rons drugs and OD or they were fighting and Haleigh got in the middle and got hurt. Ron may have fool people with is 911 call but it sounded fake to me. When Misty got robbed there was real fear in her voice and in jail there’s real fear in her voice, there was not any in her voice the night Haleigh went missing.
February 10th, 2010 at 3:09 pm
Here’s what’s very odd to me. Early on, it was speculated that Haleigh was taken by someone she knew. This was explained by saying that she allowed someone to change her shirt, and they also took another item of hers (assumed by many to be a nebulizer). But – this is contradicted by what Jr supposedly said, that a man in black took Haleigh, as opposed to someone that he knew. So, was it someone the kids knew or not? Or was Jr asleep and he was steered into the direction of saying it was a man in black?
February 10th, 2010 at 4:52 pm
H Art,
I have just lost some hope here. With no sign of Haleigh for 1 year now……well, it leads me to think that her body was dismembered somehow by human or animal, maybe mangled so badly that it is too hard to find. Rembember when the lake was drained? You know an alligator…….. I know this is awful to think of, but think of this…. If Haleigh is alive, she is so secluded that she hasn’t been found. If I remember correctly, her inhaler was missing from the home. Well if it was, that is indeed hope. I’m so confused. I want to think Haleigh is fine, but who would hide her for this amount of time? Regardless to keep her alive, you must at minimum feed her. If someone does have her, well lets hope they can get her more inhalers. I mean people in that area seem to be able to get perscription drugs illegally, let’s hope they can get their hands on inhalers if they have Haleigh. This just seems to be retaliation for something. Who would take a little girl but meniacs? Misty should just come clean. I hope that jail is just awful for her and she cracks soon. How can drug people outsmart the authorities like this? Oh and then there is the Theresa Neves walk in the woods and that whole thing with the hog pens. I still think the authorities have more than we know. And I hope So. Please, Little Haleigh has suffered enough. We need Haleigh back and not nessisarily with biological parents either. God bless Haleigh!!!!
February 10th, 2010 at 5:17 pm
KATHY L: thank u!! I thought I was the only one with the same theory. Another important point: After “COUSIN JOE” left Florida, {which Misty stated he was “just visiting?!”, and went back to Tennessee, it was only about 2 or 3 days later that a Haleigh sighting was reported in TENNESSEE, in a restaurant parking lot? Hmmm, how could that just be a coincidence? As for the back door, remember Ronald insisted that HE was the only one who had the key, and that it stayed locked ALL THE TIME, and it had only been used maybe 2 times. {he did say that the owner/landlord also had the original key} Ronald even said that Misty didn’t have a key, and I believe that!!! He seems like the type that is so protective of his children that he would not let anyone have a key!! I also noticed that both Ronald and his mother, Ms. Neves have both stated “whoever took Haleigh, I don’t care WHO IT IS, ETC..”. IMO, why would someone say that, unless one is referring to someone who would expect any preferential treatment, ie.,even if they are a friend/family member, etc..? Also, a person is capable of holding a cinder block by themselves, while holding open a spring lock screen door,…the door itself was a spring lock too, so someone would have to know that; wasn’t there a pile of clothes on the floor to keep the door opened.. My theory has been all along that the cousin was trying to get revenge on Ron, and did so by taking Haleigh …there were no signs of a struggle, obviously because Haleigh knew her abducter, and therefore trusted him. Perhaps when she was reported missing, and the story exploded all over the media, this “Cousin Joe” realized his hideous act, [I bet he probably ignorantly assumed maybe it would just be b/w him and Ron, like "hey, I took your kid", He was probably loaded on pills, [certain pills make u think u can do things that u would ordinarily never do in a sober state, like u think ur superior, or capable of anything.] especially Xanbar, Lortab aka L-10s, and oxycontin, which is the most popular one to “snort” now. OMG, can u just imagine what could have happened? Maybe Misty got loaded AGAIN after Ronald left for work,..and therefore doesn’t remember everything, and was literally scared to death that Ronald would know she was wasted while watching the kids, and so began to make a story up. Whether or not Misty does pills, Ronald seems to me like the type who absolutely wouldn’t allow anyone to use them around his children. His love for his children and dedication to them is obvious, and he probably “laid down the law” with Misty, with strict rules to follow. I also believe him when he stated to Geraldo Rivera “I do not use drugs.” Notice how he uses the present tense….and any past records [which he has never denied] coincidentally stop around the time his daughter was born. I just don’t see how anyone could suspect him. I guess me and NG will continue to be the only people on “team Ronald”! ART: how about we all take a trip to “visit” cousin Joe in TENNESSEE, it would really be great if we could take Ronald with us. I’m sure he would love to pay him a “visit”. Sorry for the sarcasm.
February 10th, 2010 at 5:29 pm
I think Ron and Misty have everything to do with it.
I’ll never forget the chilling statement Ron, or as
I refer to him as, Gomer Pyle, made to Geraldo!
GERALDO RIVERA : You believe she’s alive then?
RONALD CUMMINGS : I’m always gonna believe that my daughter’s alive until they find her. (emotional)
I knew chances were slim Haliegh was alive, but when he said that, he put the nail in her coffin for me. Haliegh
disappeared right around the eve of the Caylee Anthony memorial. I think when this case is finally zipped up,
it will be hauntingly similar to the Caylee case. It explains to me why Ron wanted “help” from George Anthony
about as much as striking his own toe with a sledgehammer!
Ron was all like… BUH-BYYYYYYE George. Thanks but noooo
thanks.

I just can’t help but wonder of Misty had people at the house that night and she was given that date rape drug. It would sure account for “missing hours” in her memory.
That said, it would NOT excuse her from naming names of the people who were there if that happened.
This continues to be such a sad, sad story.
Thanks Art for continuing to let us know what is going on.

Kathy L- Good insight. The door has bothered me too. The light being on as well. The cinder block was supposebly from a pile of them not too far from the trailer; If I remember correctly.
This case is heartbreaking. I wanted to go to the vigil, but all I can do is hold my child and pray that lil Haleigh is safe; where ever she may be. I am holding out hope that she will be safely returned. God gave the Duggards a miracle when Jaycee came home; it does happen.
I am hoping that ron and misty will tell the truth about what happened to Haleigh. I have always felt that they knew more. May GOD bring us some peace in Putnam County. Bring this beautiful Angel home!
Thanks Art for continuing your coverage of this case. We appreciate your reporting. And a lot of us do have all of our teeth here in Putnam county; Lol;)

Kathy L,post#13 thinks the same way I do. I have always wondered about Misty’s cousin from Tennessee. He was fighting with Ronald about a stolen gun on the same night Haleigh went missing. He left town the same night Haleigh went missing and the frist plea that Ronald made on television he said someone stole his daughter. He said she was not property. I thought that was a strange way to plea for a missing child. I hope they checked him out real good.

Pat–I’ve spoken to Joe Overstreet mother, and investigators have quizzed him at least twice. Nada so far, even though he’s the Croslin family’s favorite suspect. No case against him so far, sources close to the case tell me. Art

I cant get over the way the state of Florida lets these types of crimes linger in the ballances and it seems to me that if the cincinatti police have half a case they will hold you on so many different charges no lawyer in the land could get them out. It seems to me that these deffence lawyers are not human when it comes to a five year old victom and dont care what they have to do to get these criminals off of a charge that they know for sure that their cliant is guilty. God bless you Haleigh .

Ronald stated he was the only one who had a key to that back door. The handicap ramp is irrelevant, the home was a rental. The back door/key/cinder block stuff is old news…that’s one of the reasons it was immediately assumed this was someone who had knowledge of/and or ties to the family or friends.

If I hear Nancy Grace take up for Ronald Cummings one more time, I will not be watching the show. She makes me sick with “Ronald is the only one that mentions trying to find Haleigh”. He knows more than he has ever said. He did not care about those kids. Just a young girl to sleep with, that’s what its all about with him. What is he doing for sex and drugs while he has been in jail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Concerning the cinder block.. Ron said early on there were blocks at the back of the property, but he never went back there..IMO Haligh’s fate was done by someone who knew there were cinder blocks in back of the property..A person in a hurry to kidnap a child isn’t going to run around the property looking for a cinder block, especially one that isn’t in direct sight..A stranger wouldn’t know how the two doors operate, so I agree with LE, “This is not a stranger abduction”! Now they have the task of dealing with everyone one associated with Misty and Ron, including family, friends, co-workers, drug associates. This probably includes around a hundred people. One would think just one of them would confess what they know, but since this isn’t happening it leads me to believe those closest to Haleigh knows what happened, Ron and Misty.. IMO

Please Please look at Amber Brooks @ Kristine Rene Pravatt again. Art.
I really feal that these two may be more involved than we know. To bad they weren’t arrested on drug charges too. Wasn’t it Pravatt who got her car stuck in the mud. How close is the pond were they were looking for Haleigh @ where Pravatt got her car stuck. I also think this has something to do with Ron and his women being jelious of each other. Who were these girls hanging out with that night. There has to be some guys involved with them. I just feal it has something to do with getting back at Ron & Misty. Didn’t Misty tell Amber I got your Man and I will have your kid next. Just to close to home. Maybe Misty was out parting @ doing drugs, with Kristine Pravatt they night Haleigh went missing. Some one had to drive Misty home and that person or person’s took Haleigh, are they saw the children and came back later when the girls went home . Would Pravatt let these guys drive her car. because she was also to dope up to drive. Misty was so doped up she doen’t remember but does vagely remember their being four people in the house. Maybe the letter makes more sence. The one that say’s Haleigh O.D. and they put her in the pond. These people gave Haleigh the drug to keep her quite, she O.D. just like the letter says. Check these girls and what guys they were hanging with. I just feal that it has something to do with drugs and a complete disklike for Ron. Also does Jr. remember going anywhere that night. Are did Misty put him to bed like she say’s and then leave.

I firmly believe that Ron and Misty know what happened to little hayleigh. Why else would ron have married her and still keep her under his control. I believe that he is a bully and misty is afraid of him. It is quite obvious that Ron is controlling and manipulative guy, just a bully. remember how crystal was/is afraid of him. And what is with his fasination with little girls? crystal and misty both being in their early teens when he was/is with them! And wasnt their a time span while he was at work when no-one seen him? just because he showed up for work doesnt meen he stayed there! I believe that misty knows what happened and so does Ron. I think that misty is too afraid of Ron to tell all the real facts. You wait and see, Ron is somehow involved in all of this, he hasnt cried real tears yet, he just puts on a show for the cameras. time will tell

This is a very sad and perplexing case. Although it happens far too often, I do not want to believe that a parent would harm their own child. No child deserves that, but no child deserves to be put in harm’s way by being born in to a life surrounded by crime, drugs and dysfunction. Sadly, it sounds like it was not only HaLeigh and Junior who suffered this fate, but Ronald, Misty, Tommy and Crystal as well.
Unless a total stranger came into the home and took HaLeigh while Misty and Junior slept (it is possible), then HaLeigh’s family needs to take responsibility for the disappearance of this child. Whether they were directly involved or not, the life style choices they made played a very key role in this situation.
It is not unusual for a parent to be in a state of denial when it comes to their children. No one wants to admit that their children aren’t perfect. It is time to take the blinders off here. Mother and Grandmother need to let Ronald know that while they love and support him, it is time to stop playing games. If anyone can get the truth from Ronald it is these two women. If they do or have already done so, I hope they do the right thing for HaLeigh’s sake.

Art, The cinder block? Wasn’t it holding the screen door open? The ramp was used for the children to go up and down with their trikes, maybe. ?
On the way out, Haleigh’s pink shirt that she had on (Misty said) was taken off by Haleigh’s ?????? because it could have snagged on something in or near the river bank. Just thoughts and ?s. Keep up the good work, Art. Nancy isn’t as “dumb” as she allows us to believe. She has a “show” to run!!!! Still think she should start gettin’ on Cummings’ @@@. That will happen and soon. Does she think that we can’t see through her? She won’t even say much about Cummings selling drugs, arrested, when Cummings should have not been drugging and trying to find Haleigh!!!! Sure he keeps talking about Haleigh just to get the attention off his sorry @@@. Sorry mom, he is your son, and a lot of us believe he is guilty as h@@.

“….and everyone’s desire for the return of Haleigh to her family.”
Her dad got ‘awarded’ legal custody, he’s divorced (twice), has a bad temper and a fowl mouth, and he’s an addict and drug dealer, and he’s in jail….I don’t think he’s a NARC!

There are only 10 numerals, there are 27 letters.
So, doing ‘the math’ tells me the potential of combinations.
Especially considering ‘the sounds’ that ‘extend beyond the twenty-seven, and the ‘keys.’
lol it’s 8am and the heavy fog is lifting.

Personally, after reading most of these posts, I think her brother is the culprit. He puts himself at the scene. Knows Misty is unconscious. Just because he “says” no one was home doesn’t make it so. He would obviously know the operation of the doors and HOW to keep them quite. Would probably be able to get Haleigh out without making any noise. He could have told her he was taking her to her Dad. Even at 5 years old Haleigh would be aware of the discord and behavior of Ronald and Misty. She would make sense in her little mind that she was being taken elsewhere to protect her. How similar looking are her cousin and her brother? She may very well know it was her brother and substituted the disliked cousin in her version of the “dream”. It wasn’t any “dream”, not when she states that the door was propped open in the dream. She was actually seeing the door propped open. How much does anyone know about her brother. Has anyone interviewed people to investigate his comments or behavior around children? Anyone check his home/computer for child porn? Anyone interview relatives for inappropriate behavior toward them?
