Haleigh Cummings: Anyone Else to Care About?
Art Harris, guest on Nancy Grace Show Monday night, Jan. 25

HLN’s Nancy Grace Show has invited Art Harris of The Bald Truth (www.artharris.com or Baldtruthtv.com) back on as a guest Wed. night, Jan. 27, and Friday night, Jan. 29 to update viewers on the latest in the Haleigh Cummings mystery.
Of course, we’re under no illusions…Tiger Woods…more mistresses and sex rehab…a new missing child, or another big, breaking crime story could bounce Haleigh, an unsolved mystery that would likely draw more interest if the missing child had parents to cheer for, instead of a thuggish 26 year old papa who loved her, but also had a penchant for guns, drugs and much younger teenage girls.
He was stripped of custody last week after winding up behind bars on drug trafficking charges, with ex-wife and Haleigh’s ex-stepmom Misty Croslin, the accused mastermind. Haleigh’s mother, Crystal Sheffield enjoyed only visitation until she passed a pop drug test and a judge awarded her responsibility for Haleigh’s 4 year old brother, JR.
To sustain media interest in a missing little girl, it helps if she has educated, articulate parents to express anguish, with motives no one can question and no record of using or misusing illegal drugs. But you can’t create a perfect drama without actually casting the true crime movie; news execs and show producers have to play the real life cast they’re dealt.
That’s the way news works in an era of 24/7 cable, where no matter the network, murder means business, and shows that scream for justice demand a story worth screaming about, like a beautiful, missing little girl with a hands-on-hip attitude and a smile that grabs you by the heart — and won’t let go.
But producers also need a news “peg” to justify covering a cold case like Haleigh, with no official suspect, no witnesses, no weapon and no body.
This week, almost a year after Haleigh vanished from her Dad’s trailer — they got one– law enforcement delivered a major drug bust that put the now 18 year old baby sitter turned stepmother (and key to the missing child case, say police), Misty Cummings, behind bars on six counts of dealing illegal painkillers with a possible maximum sentence of 180 years.
Legal experts figure her nearly million dollar bond will likely be challenged as excessive when it comes down to the stash cops seized: not kilos of cocaine, but 339 prescription painkillers with a street value of $3,900. But the bust–and the whopper of a bond — made headlines and drew major media back to the crime scene.
We’re not dissing the busts as peanuts; police also locked up others on major drug charges: Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings, his cousin, Hope Sykes, Misty’s brother, Hank (Tommy) Croslin and Donna Brock, the former volunteer who Texas Equusearch cut loose last fall, only to get sucked into Misty’s Satsuma netherworld as a confidante and rogue Sugar Mama.
According to police reports that were released Tuesday and obtained by The Bald Truth, the six busts — sales by Misty and others to an unidentified undercover cop caught on audio and video tape yet to be released — apppeared as righteous as a drug bust can be, say officials.
“They’re good cases,” Lt. Johnny Greenwood, spokesman for the Putnam County Sheriff told me. “Illegal prescription drugs are an epidemic. It’s not only killling our county and killing our state, it’s killing our country.”
That’s what it took to put the missing child back in the spotlight where she deserves to be–the same illegal celebrity drugs we regularly hear about in celebrity deaths–Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Jackson.
Ironically, in Haleigh’s case, the same wayward characters so easily suckered into trading pills for cash from an undercover cop, actually keep network news cameras at bay when Haleigh news is slow. It’s not Haleigh’s fault.
I mean who else is there to care about except Haleigh (and her little brother, JR)? Heroes and villains define the world of television crime, and when the public falls for the good guys, that can help keep a case alive in the media, feed the ratings beast and keep pressure on the bad guys, or girls to slip up, make mistakes, get caught.
With new public empathy and understanding, the door is now cracked for local law enforcement to keep the media around as allies, let the perps watch the local news–even Nancy Grace, the HLN show Misty confidante Donna Broke told me had Misty so regularly infuriated that she would rant at the television. She watched it every night, Donna informed me in our long talks while they were road-tripping. She heard every phone call with Ronald, and shared their rifts on background, as she played undercover mama and played Misty for information about Haleigh she had offered to share with TES, then police when she went rogue. But that was then, and we are now.
Still, a few sources close to the case tell me they believed our steady reporting of the Misty-Ronald conflict kept her on edge, while debunking the Happy Daze spin some outlets bought. Meanwhile, my sources tell me police were following her every move, even as network morning shows pumped her ego, and she went from the Today Show trap, to the CBS Early Show disaster.
All the while, Misty confidante Donna Brock is telling me she’s reading The Bald Truth, watching NG nightly and smoldering over reports about her Ronald rift, especially when Brock was whispering he wasn’t picking up her calls and once told her not to call back.
Yet, at the same time Donna said she was also feeling upbeat, overconfident, even as she felt increasingly cornered and alone. Donna also told several people she smoked pot with Misty, and now we know, allegedly did even more to feed her own cravings and make a little money. At least that’s what Misty told an undercover cop Jan. 8, according to a police report, that Donna needed to make some money off her prescription painkillers, and asked Misty to deal them.
Eventually, sources close to the case told me, investigators figured she’d run out of options, run out of money, screw up and commit a crime they hoped would put her in jail — and finally give investigators an edge to learn the truth. Only the Haleigh case investigators were kept in the dark about the undercover drug sting in progress, so state prosecutors could make sure no defense lawyer could use the dual probes to get the Haleigh case or the drug case tossed.
“You can always use an entrapment defense, that had it not been for police actions to lure in a defendant, the client would not have even begun to think about committing a crime,” says Ray Giudice, a former prosecutor turned legal pundit, notable for his flaming red hair and fiery banter on air with hosts like Nancy Grace. “But it’s a tough defense to win, and in this case you will have to overcome audio and video tapes of the bust.”
To keep the pressure on, and flush more rats out of their Satsuma sewer, the media could play a role, if police decide to use that avenue. There’s always a fine line between keeping the media at bay–as this sheriff has done for almost a year– and the public informed, but successful police work entails understanding how to feed the media without creating a feeding frenzy.
In Haleigh’s case, the story is also handicapped in drawing regular coverage by the locale; urban news demos are anathema to a rural Florida backwater setting evoking Dueling Banjos, and a cast of characters that makes Jerry Springer guests look highbrow.
All the more important to allow some of Satsuma’s finest into the spotlight: why not allow a TV show tag along with Sheriff Jeff Hardy, a day in the life of the new top cop on the block for a year now, who inherited a missing child case and convicts on the loose. Talk about trial by fire. With the bust fueling his popularity, maybe it’s time he grabbed that wave.
He can still do the sensitive police work in private, but law enforcement needs to consider that television needs good guys and bad guys to rivet viewers night after night, pump ratings, someone to hate, and someone to love. Casey Anthony may buck the formula, with few publicaly appealing characters in her camp. But at least her locale is upscale suburbia, and she’s playing wild cards Haleigh doesn’t have: an articulate (if personality disordered bad) party girl Mom, the body of a victim and a crucial ratings companion — enough forensics to keep CSI Orlando on the air for years.
A little brother, could do it, if he were older, perhaps, or at least old enough to be able to testify — and identify — the mystery man in black with squeeky shoes who made the couch in the trailer bounce.
Short of that, it’s up to investigators to keep using every tool, and start bringing the media back in from the cold and into the fold. They know who they can trust, and now that they’ve seen the power television has, and its appeal to the players behind bars, who may be going through tube withdrawal, along with the drugs. Why not use it as a force multiplier, and bring the case to a close even faster.

Art, I want to say first of all, I love your forum, your articles, and the opportunity to post here. I also think the world of Spunky. I want to commend the sheriff’s department for their good work in getting these drug dealers off the street, and behind bars, where they belong, drugs are a terrible problem in every city in our country, and Florida seems specially bad. All that being said, can you confirm, once and for all, whether Junior actually did actually describe a man in black with squeaky shoes that made the couch bounce? Who did he tell this to, and when did he tell them? How seriously were his comments taken? I really believe there could be some important clues in his statements, and wonder how closely he has been questioned by LE. I figure one explanation for the squeaky shoes is that someone walked through the grass in the yard up to the MH, through the dew on the grass and that made the shoes squeak, which means it would have had to be in the wee hours of the morning.
I hope sitting in jail cells, isolated, with no tv, etc. gives these “players” some time to reflect on what is in store for them in the future, and if one of them knows something, I hope this is what it will take to break them and make them confess. In the meantime, thank you for your committment to covering Haleigh’s story.

Hi Art,
Thinking about Haleighs Family. What can you tell us about Ronald and his Mother Theresa? Does Ronald have siblings?
Where is Ronald’s Father? What is the story with Theresa? Does she still work at a Sheriff Department? Why is it she seems to say the right things but, then why is Ronald the way he is? Meaning who raised Ronald? Still don’t understand why Great-Grandma had Jr and not Grandma Theresa? And Lastly how is JR now that he is with his biological Mom? Wow, this Child has been through allot for his young age!

Nan–
Thanks for your kind words…especially for Spunky; she’s truly brilliant, understands the media from two decades working in it and has done an amazing job keeping the forum thoughtful and together and terrorist trolls at bay…With the help of a legion of honorable bloggers we also appreciate, I give her great credit for sanitizing the web and keeping other children safe by withstanding months of attacks by one very evil blogger named Hobbit we couldn’t quite figure…Until, like many out there purveying lies and hatred we choose to ignore, (who also have a past with a few screws loose), we learned why he kept stalking and harrassing her and others and was so reluctant to share his real name–seems Hobbit is none other than Ricky Lee Lincoln, a convicted California sex predator who served eight years in prison for raping two step-daughters.
After his release, it appears he may have taken to the web to get his jollies by rallying behind missing kids and their families — in this case even developing an e mail relationship with Crystal’s mother (we have the e mails) and communicating regularly with provacateur pals on the ground in Satsuma (like Pirate) and the net…and after Spunky had the spunk to help expose him, he had the gall claim his sex crimes weren’t “as bad as they’re making it out to be.” Wonder what missing child case he’s infiltrated now. I do know our digging got cops to pay him a visit, and put him on notice…he quickly folded his tent, and embarrassed web pals quickly zapped records of their twitter accounts and correspondence with him. These are the kinds of folks who were attacking our fantastic readers, so yes, Spunky has done gutsy work to try to keep people honest in the wild, wild web, and we appreciate that.
In case you missed it, a few official details about Ricky: LINCOLN, First Name: RICKY, Middle Name: LEE.
Last Known Address: 2129 LIVE OAK BLVD # 111
YUBA CITY, 95991
County: SUTTER
Zip Code 95991
Date of Birth: 09-05-1955
Sex: MALE
Height: 5’4″
Weight: 220
Eye Color: HAZEL
Hair Color: GRAY
Ethnicity: WHITE
THE REGISTRANT MAY HAVE SUBSEQUENTLY RELOCATED

As for JR, my sources tell me law enforcement was sensitive enough to use an expert child psychologist trained in interviewing traumatized children, and that while the information was useful for the investigation, it’s legally questionable whether it could ever hold up in court as testimony that might put any “man in black” or an accomplice away because of JR’s age. I keep hearing that Misty may not remember things like what happened the night Haleigh went missing, because she was on that 3 day drug party.
Art-Perhaps if LE starts taking a different approach on their questions, such as telling Misty that she is looking at a very long Prison sentence on drug charges., so she might as well tell them the things that she DOES REMEMBER the night Haleigh went missing. If she responds, I don’t remember anything, LE should drill her into telling them why or what she took before going to bed. LE should be letting her know that other charges may come into play once one of the other’s reveal information, this could even mean that she may be facing the death penalty.
Art question: Could LE add the charges of child neglect leading to child endangerment on both Ronald and Misty?
Misty and Ronald are both drug addicts before and at the time Haleigh went missing. Ronald was negligent leaving his children under the care of a druggie.
I still believe that Ronald had something to do with Haleigh missing. His characteristics and behavior are those of a narcisistic, self-centered, manipulator, and now he has lost control over Crystal, she has custody of Jr., He has lost control over Misty, and of himself. So in time in my opinion, once reality sets in that he will be in Prison for a long time, as a plea to serve less prison time, he will try to place the blame on Misty for whatever happened to Haleigh.
By the way how does Misty pay for her attorney, she admits to doing NOTHING for a living?
Who is representing Ronald, is it still Mr. Terry Shoemaker or was a public defence attorney appointedd to him?
God Bless Haleigh!

Art! I sincerely do not appreciate your characterization of Putnam County, its residents, and its Sheriff.
Please have the person or persons writing for you do a bit more fact-checking. Jeff Hardy did not “inherit” a missing child case. For pete’s sake, he was in office on January 1st.
What is everyone’s fascination with former websleuths member Pirate? She “ain’t all that,” in my opinion. For crying out loud, there is a missing or murdered child here and you want to dish about someone who couldn’t possibly have kidnapped or killed Haleigh that I am aware of. My sentiments regarding the Lincoln guy are similar.
Spunky. Well, that’s a whole ‘nother story but this is neither the time nor the place for my thoughts regarding that person.

Art, I look forward to seeing you Friday night. I’m not a fan of the show, but will watch you on it.
In the previous article, posters asked some solid questions regarding the show; questions I hope you don’t answer, in particular, why NG seems to be so hard on Crystal Sheffield.
I think answering them is counterproductive and could lead her to not having you on the show.
Although I firmly agree with the posters, I think if you are not on the show, the case begins to fade from public view and justice for Haliegh may not be realized.
Your posters are passionate and intelligent. I’m glad that you are keeping this story alive.
As much as I would like to hear answers about NG show, I’d rather keep this story alive.
Thanks for keeping the story in the media. Misty may be forced to come clean, eventually. She failed the polygraph which means that the substance abuse has not left her without a memory of what happened to the child. Had she simply been drunk, the alcohol may have impeded her memory, but the oxy use did not. This is why she so strongly failed the polygraph.
I’d love to see you give us more information on Brock, the former Texas Equasearch volunteer.
Any upcoming interviews with Tim Miller??
keep up the strong journalism!
January 27th, 2010 at 1:15 pm
A tearful article. When one thinks of being born in the same country yet worlds away. Some rise above the challenges they have been given. While others go into the sinkhole bringing their children along for the ride. I see that happening here. Jr being the innocent child while having empty minded parents. They definitely reinterate the commercial with a frying pan and the eggs cracking “This is your brain on drugs.” Haleigh nor Jr have ever had a chance. The more I watch this slowly unfold I do pray another family has her and is good to that baby. Never should a child be taken. Never should a child be exposed to this kind of environment ( both bio mom and bio dad). Once I prayed for her safe return. Now I wonder what would she return to? Just to be put in the same position again? I have tried not to be judgmental but all of this is to much. Bless Jr and pray for him. His battles have just begun.
January 27th, 2010 at 1:58 pm
regarding the “keeping of a secret” that NG thinks is impossible (did she really work with addicts before??)
Tim Miller has a different opinion. He thinks she can hold the secret as long as she fears for her life.
January 27th, 2010 at 2:23 pm
Art, great reporting!
I see you will be on NG this week and hope you can share any new information. So many questions, and little answers.
Any children in the car when all these UC Drug Operations were going on. And if so, will LE be adding some charges?
Any info regarding who lives on Tropic Ave and was this ever a party/drug house.
Is LE going to do anymore ground searches?
Will LE-The Jail, release the jail visits and phone conversations to the public?
Will LE release the audios from the sting operation?
Is LE looking into Nay Nay’s jail letter again? About the party at Chad’s house the night Haleigh went missing. Nay Nay denies this in her letter.
Do we know who Chad is and where he lives?
Has LE searched that home?
Has LE questioned Chad if they had a party there that night Feb9th and if so who all was there?
Did Donna B. ever tell you about the alleged taped conversations she had with Misty? (Per a third Party that said they talked to DB, said That Haleigh is dead, and that the body was first burned up before being disposed of. The area of the red rose was also mentioned as to where Haleigh’s remains/ashes would of been found. Per what Misty said to Donna.)
Thanks Again for keeping Haleigh’s story alive…Praying she is found soon! Will be watching you tonight!
January 27th, 2010 at 2:54 pm
Something in the police report about meeting Misty at the railroad tracks on Buffalo Bluff Road-Is this the same spot that the bloodhounds followed Haleighs scent to-same area?
Someone said they have no T.V in Jail. Someone should let Misty watch Nancy Grace if it bothers her so much. Oh and Typo- Donna Broke- is that a joke? cause she took the public defender or a typo? I think it is a typo.
January 27th, 2010 at 4:11 pm
Spinky is not he one who busted Hobbitt. Sorry Charlie, she doesn’t own that credit but we know how you are Art.
January 27th, 2010 at 5:26 pm
Art, I will definitely be watching you on the Nancy Grace HLN news tonight for the latest information on the Haleigh Cummings Case. Wow, you guys ROCK ! Good job at getting the perv identified and blowing his cover. Seems like he should go spend some more time in lock up. Thought that would be a violation of his probation. Sounds like he was trying to get to another child via grandma. Hope the Law tracked down his buddies too.
Feels like the Law is getting closer to bringing Haleigh home and finding out just exactly what happened. They all deserve a medal ! Great Teamwork!
January 27th, 2010 at 6:06 pm
I guess if you all made it any more real nobody would watch.
Ain’t that kinda funny ’bout “Reality TV?”
Even “The Food Network” is all about “Iron Chefs” and selling or peddling their goods at Kohls…
So, I watch Nancy and Jane, once in a while usually trying to escape the ads for auto insurance and all that other stuff when I’m changing channels…but then when it gets too real and your so far removed from doing any ‘real good.’
I come here and type.
January 27th, 2010 at 6:08 pm
Correction:
(your should have been a contraction…actually should have been I’m)
January 27th, 2010 at 6:18 pm
Those ‘Nelson’ or ‘Neilson’ ratings are kinda like this ‘NET.’
‘THEY’ compile data and statistics and send you advertising for stuff ‘THEY’ think they can sell…and the whole deal is getting those advertisers to believe the rate they’re charged is worth it going up, up, up!!!
I’m a fool for thinking and hoping that that little girl might actually still be found alive.
I came here once upon a time searching for the truth, and so far I’d say, or rather type, that’s a matter of faith.
So, keep on keepin’ on…and hope you’ll have some influence over the ‘usual choices’ for commercial intermission breaks.
January 27th, 2010 at 6:21 pm
You all…not you’ll…but ya’ll…or ya’l
Reminds me of Yul Brennor (sp?)…well he was bald, too!!!
So, at the very least I’ll still try my best to give you a laugh.
January 27th, 2010 at 6:56 pm
Thanks for all you do Art. Since the start of this case every time I google for updates I get taken to a different article of yours.
Whoever said Ron would come out smelling like a rose-I do not think there is ANY way that will happen, after reading the police reports. I just hope we find out about Haleigh-sometimes. Sometimes I would rather think someone removed her for her own good and she is off somewhere with that spirit living a better life. But she deserves some justice.
Somehow I doubt she will get it. I wonder if Robert Fields knows what happened.
Art, what is your impression? I know you are not a mind reader, but you have an impression on this?
Thanks Lisa
January 27th, 2010 at 7:01 pm
Thank you soooooooo much Art. I am praying this will justify Haleigh. I only care about Haleigh. She is the only victim. It is time for God to send down his wrath upon everyone that had anything to do with Haleighs disappearance. I have always thought Misty had knowledge of what happened and as time went by I started believing that Ron knews too. I still feel that they both know. I know LE cleared him back in August, but I have always suspected that LE did this so he would let down his guard. GO LE!! GET JUSTICE FOR HALEIGH!!! Thank you again Art. I will be watching you tonight on NG. It was nice to know that their marriage could not prevent charges of being with a minor . I still believe it was so they would not have to testify against one another. They just did not know about the exception to the law. I remember Nancy and Sue Moss talking about this very law during the Caylee case referring to whether it would apply to family members. The answer was no only to spouses, but they never mentioned the exclusion to the law. It makes me wonder how much info Misty and Ron used from the Caylee case?
January 27th, 2010 at 10:00 pm
I don’t know about this Spunky stuff but it sounds he should be in jail. Each bias spin made by Police with things like the the very questionable “Tommy Croslin” statement, trying a case in media before it has even come close to trial under minds their professionalism and jeopardizes confidence people need to have in them. Each spin they make each deal they make with abusers places the case for Haleigh at risk, they lost me at Tommy. When Anne Pressly’s Mother made several calls to her daughter that morning and did not get a response she went out to her daughter’s home. She knocked on the front door, no answer. She didn’t go sit in a car and wait around. She went to the back and found an unlocked door and went in to find her daughter severally beaten who sadly died a few days later. The reason she went to the back door is because that is what any human being would do, especially when repeated calls have been made inquiring the where abouts of a person or persons in the home. A family member is going to feel more comfortable with searching more in depth around the property as apposed to calling a neighbour who does not know them. A stranger may hesitate going around back but some one who knows the family will go around the home, it’s human nature, instinctive. He either was not there or he went to the back door why are the Police going in slow mo to find the truth about that, obstruction is illegal is that not leverage? Misty is never going to speak to these guys. What the world is asking is for a 17 year old girl to clearly see that the only world she has seen is filled with lies and deceit. That her life has always been 2nd fiddle to their drug issues. That the people who created her placed her life down the Totem pole in priorities. They maybe pos to some people but to her they are everything she identifies and understands about her self and her life and she is a child. I would give this one some time but these strong arm back in the day brow beating techniques are the way. JMHO
God Bless Haleigh and all her families
January 27th, 2010 at 10:21 pm
Give me a break. This guy Ronald is screaming behind bars that he will kill anyone that was invloved. But don’ ya think he would have done something to Misty to get info. His drugs and habit are hooked to her, what a mess… Hard to beleive this is real….
January 27th, 2010 at 10:31 pm
Thanks for this site. I was acually watching Nancy Grace again until tonight when Nancy started that phoney looking crying about her man Ronald Cummings. Talk about co-dependency.
I worked in treatment centers fo a long time and am myself recovering, that said I can truthfully say Nancy needs addiction 101.
I used to love that woman and waited with baited breath everyday until her show would come on, that is until Ronald Cummings and his momma came into the show.
Seeing the prejudice Nancy showed Crystal and the way she worshiped Ron and his mom made me sick and tonight seeing what she did on her show disgusted me.
So after watching a few of her shows this week because of Haliegh I’ve decided not to watch her again and come here or watch Giraldo, Larry or Jane. I really don’t like to be disgusted.
January 27th, 2010 at 11:51 pm
Thank You Art for staying on this case. I guess my question is this; children have imagination, but, I my gut is telling me that little Jr. maybe telling us something important here. I do not have the skill nor knowledge about this kind of stuff. But, to make something up so specific just seems he maybe giving us very important information..
What do you think?
Thanks again Art.
January 28th, 2010 at 12:13 am
JLM I think JR saw something, and it’s worth noting and keeping in mind as other details come out…the expert who interviewed him may have given him paper to draw, don’t know. But that is a common technique to encourage recall of feelings and impressions kids can’t articulate because either they are too young or too traumatized. Art
January 28th, 2010 at 12:24 am
I think LE is seriously trying to rid the town of drugs.. If arresting those who could be involved in the Haleigh case brings them closer to finding out what happened to her, it’s a good thing..I disagree the bust was solely for the purpose of getting a confession/s, as Ron implied to the reporter on NG tonight..Illegal drugs are serious business, and one of LE’s hardest tasks to clean up…in any town.

Bill–
Didn’t say Spunky was solo, but one of the first to alert me…and one of his targets…pls send in others with e mails sounding the alarm and will be delighted to sing their praises. Did you ever converse with him? Curious how you think he went so long without being exposed? Anyone protecting him? Art

Great work Art & Spunky!
I don’t know who Spunky is or how or where she fits in with all this. I am guessing on a forum. But she sounds like a gem. I never cease to be amazed at the gullible adults who treat anonymous bloggers like they are celebrities, try to make friends with them, & even send them money. (I’m not referring to Crystal’s mother. She was/is in a terrible desperate situation as is all of Haleigh’s loved ones.)
Even though I would be surprised if a random pedophile abducted Haleigh, your post above shows what a perfect dysfunctional family this would be for a pedophile to prey upon. It also shows how pedophiles follow cases like this & perfect their evil plans. I am constantly frightened by how lax many people are with their children.
Unfortunately, your post also highlights that most dysfunctional parents don’t read blogs like yours or watch cable news shows like Nancy Grace to learn the dangers they may bring to their children until it is too late.
Keep up the good work Art, Spunky, & Florida/Satsuma Police.
January 28th, 2010 at 1:00 am
MARY–
Illegal prescription drugs are the biggest killer in Fla., FDLE special agent Dominick Pape told me the other day, and that’s their main, at least public reason, for chasing down the Satsuma sellers. Today they made another drug arrest, unrelated to this, so they are on it, it looks like. Art

Art:
Good for LE..I know they work terribly hard in my town to clean it up, but it is a continuous battle..
January 28th, 2010 at 1:52 am
The Jailhouse letter did not really say anything except that police had a theory or maybe an informant-maybe-and they used the information to try and see if Nay Nay knew anything. I read Chad was in a wheelchair-so I would assume his medications were at a level he could reach, but Nay Nay did not say this happened, she said police said it did and that it did not. Besides Art says they are done with Greg Page, and he was the focus of the letter.
January 28th, 2010 at 4:44 am
Art,
Does LE REALLY feel that the drug bust of Misty et al. is the break they’ve been waiting fo9r? What I mean is, do they really feel that it will give them sufficient leverage to garner crucial information regarding Haleigh, or are they overstating their position? What fo you think?
January 28th, 2010 at 4:53 am
Art,
Also, thank you, thank you, for all you’ve done to keep Haleigh in the spotlight. While her father only seemingly cares about himself, you’ve done everything in your power to help Haleigh. Bless you, sir. YOU are the reason that closure will be brought. Like everyone else, I pray it is a good outcome, and I pray for Haleigh. But most of all, I pray that you will be rewarded somehow, some way, in kind for keeping the case alive in everyone’s minds, but I can think of nothing that would come close to the accolades that you deserve. Thank you again.
January 28th, 2010 at 2:11 pm
Dear Art Harris!! Good grief, Nancy, or perhaps I NEED to say Nancy Grace, since she got SOOOOOO upset when you refer to people by their first name, plezzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!
ART HARRIS, you ARE just THE best”est”, keep up your EXCELLENT work, may you continue to find out allllll the truth re: Heigh and everything else that NEEDS to be reported!! Gooooooooooooo ART HARRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

January 28th, 2010 at 2:20 pm
Art,
Glad Butterbean is with his bio Mom Crystal again. Wonderful that she was drug tested and it was clean. Hope they continue to monitor.
Shame Ronald and Misty weren’t monitored with jr. in their care especially after Haleigh “went missing”. Under the spotlight of LE and media hype,I cannot understand how the system would fail this precious child who remained on the front line of drug dealing thugs for almost a year, after his sister vanished under highly suspicious circumstances!!
It’s also obvious to me that Ron’s Mother (TN) and Grandmother failed JR. big time, by turning a blind eye!!!
TN can continue all she wants to try to garner “sympathy” for her immature son Ron all she wants however the only sympathy I feel is for is for the children!!
I’m horrified by Ronalds continued bizzare behaviour behind bars Re: threats of killing. His outrage, anger and penchant for dating YOUNG girls baffles me as well. Ron’s exactly where he belongs: behind bars!! He victimizes and then moves on again and again—> to very young girls, placing his own children in the care of his teenage lovers. Ronald is as negligent, as the person or person(s) responsible for Haleigh’s disappearence.
I pray the latest trafficing charges and the looooong sentences the players face…will open a pandora’s box of information/confession(s)—> leading to where precious lil Haleigh is.

Ooooooops! I did not spell little Haleigh’s name
Keep calling Ronald, Misty
, Tommy and everyone else by their first name, orrrrr does Nancy Grace want you to use each person’s first name, middle name & their last name as well????!!!!
I like Nancy Grace’s show very, very, very much, but when she SNAPS(SSSSS) at you, ART HARRIS or Mark Klass, it’s just awful!!!!!!:(
correctly.
Goooooooooooo ART HARRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Art, Do you know what Junior told LE? I mean we know what his mom said he told her. But things can get mixed up in a little mans head. Do we know what Junior told the psychologist that day or the next day? Because seemed to me he had already told LE and the Cummings already knew something before Sheffield sort of let the cat out of the bag on Geraldo. Ron Cummings said if someone took her because they lost a child. I read somewhere that what Junior said was it was a woman that took Haleigh-Not a man in black. Easy for a small child with a poor memory to get oonfused because police wear black. Did someone in the Cummings family or LE tell you Jr said a man in black or a black man in black took his sissy?
January 28th, 2010 at 2:26 pm
They did sort of focus on some women at first so I thought maybe this was valid? Do you know?

SORRY ART, BUT CMON, THERE ARE ILLEGAL PRESCRIPTION DRUG RINGS EVERYWHERE. This might sound harsh, but what these people were doing, the amount of drugs, money exchanged, etc., is not ANY DIFFERENT than what goes on in all cities, small towns, and yes, the beloved suburbs with the beautiful homes, and “perfect families” who consist of “perfect parents” and “perfect kids”..I honestly have a hard time believing how naive all of you sound, with the comments and descriptions of the “satsuma gang”, and MISTY being referred to as a leader!! LOL, who is she, Al Pacino in Scarface? WAKE UP!! I live in an area that is considered mid to upper class, and everyone “appears” to be living the American Dream, and I have seen 15yr.old kids doing the same thing! This is an epidemic, and there are drug rings everywhere, and sometimes, thankfully, these drug rings are successfully infiltrated, but it isn’t in the media like this. DUH? Gosh, does anyone think maybe it’s so LE can help uncover some NEW LEADS?!Hmmm, I guess that’s why an undercover cop was brought in to help track Misty,Tommy, Donna, etc..What a novel idea!!Maybe then, LE can keep a consistent eye on the people surrounding this case?!!SO WHY IS THE MEDIA AND PUBLIC ACTING LIKE ITS SUCH A SURPRISE? Listen to what Ronald Cummings is saying; This is not about drugs, its about HALEIGH! And Art, I would like to add, imo, I still firmly believe in Ronald Cummings innocence. Do you really think he would place himself in such a situation for any other reason except to FIND HIS DAUGHTER? Listen to his words, they speak volumes!!! Ronald Cummings is smarter than the media gives him credit for, and instead of wasting time judging him, they should just stick to the story. Also, why are people so shocked by his words that he would kill/go to prison/sacrifice his own life for the justice of his daughter? Deep down inside, isn’t that how everyone of us would feel if our child was missing? Atleast RONALD CUMMINGS is not afraid to say what he feels, nor care what anyone thinks of him…

Art, Nancy thinks what happened to Crystal won’t happen to her. opinion only
It can if she lives in “Florida,” her husband took her twins, filed a TRO (Temporary Restraining Order/Injunction) with the court and says mommy takes too much cold medicine which prohibit her from making good decisions with the twins. She would be served with a TRO (NG knows the law)and not be allowed to see her twins until her day when she goes to court to ask for her babies. She would then wait until court date that takes days or months. If lucky, with money to a good lawyer, she might get visits until final court date. I have seen this happen in Florida! Jacksonville, to be exact. So, NG should stop the Crystal bashing! Now, she should ask Ronald Cummings, “What kind of work do you do?” “Nothing, “you do what? nothing?” Why were you selling dope since your baby disappeared? I don’t know; I was at work is not a good answer, Ronald! Art, are we off base when we see that this is reality–in news media, newspapers, and with our best reporter, Art Harris? You are good, Art. We know how NG’s show works we believe–Producer at CNN/HLN and others who vindicate her rankings! She needs a paycheck. She somehow drags us in with her drama with Baby Ronald! Do others feel the same way as some of us? Good work, Art

As much as I hope, I await the headlines that will read “We Finally Found Haleigh!”
“BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE”…(that missing 4 letter word)…and a source…that will always be plural.

Typ O…BROW BEATING TECHNIQUES ARE NOT THE WAY. Apparently I am completely confused on Spunky. Who ever the weirdo is he/she deserves to be in jail.

I could in-vision really imagine some Foxy show that told us the truth ’bout “All That” manufactured news…
Oh Happy Day!!!
Yet the wizards behind ‘that curtain’ ain’t about that.
All have been caught up in this net…little monopoly game.
Feathers flying, wings on a prayer, birds flocking together…
Some never learning how to fly right, or how much time they have left to sing a song…tweet, tweet.
“The Early Bird Gets the Worm”…so if you can’t sleep…know you didn’t need it ’cause you didn’t earn it.
There’s a great tale told of a little one born that got nailed to a cross…and there’s another story that says he got nailed there in myth on purpose ’cause he was up to no good, I guess.

Art, Great Job as usual on Nancy but I am not sure I understand why she defends Ronald so much, she is assuming that the mother lost custody because of something she did wrong, well they BOTH did some wrongs (IMHO) and Nancy is assuming the courts make fair and just decisions in family court hearings, which just isnt always so. I know personally the wrongs family court can do to a mother and I hope Nancy reads this because whatever decision the court makes is NOT ALWAYS FAIR. In my opinion both parents had problems and yes I do believe Ronald was a bigger addict and was into worse things than Crystal from what Im hearing. So I do think the ONLY reason that he got custody of JR was because CRYSTAL TOLD THE TRUTH and admitted she did some drugs and Ronald lied to the courts, (he probably did more drugs in MOO) and that is why he got custody, if they would have hair follicaled him he would have had much explaining to do (again my opinion).
So do please tell “ms. nancy” that courts DONT ALWAYS make the right decision.
Your articles are great ART and I am soooo HAPPY that you keep Haleigh in the news! There is not one day that goes by where I dont say a prayer for her!
January 28th, 2010 at 10:37 pm
OH YEAH, I do not beleive Misty will sing due to her attorney advising her, and also because she is afraid of life in prison. I believe the only way they will get ANYTHING out of her, is offering her a short sentence and some sort of immunity and I cant see that happening.
Prayers for Haleigh…

Did the judge ask Ronald Cummings what he did for a living?
And did Ronald Cummings say “NOTHIN”? Nancy Grace disgusts me by constantly making fun of Misty when she answers “nothin” to the judge who asks her what she does for a living. Ronald does not have a job EITHER.

Anything NG can do OR say to make someone look worse than they really are is HER GAME.
NG said, “For all I can tell Art, she is out working at truck stops and 7-Elevens ALL OVER THE STATE OF FLORIDA
selling dope”. My ….how NG talks and says things that
are untrue. No wonder she was fired from the Fulton Co.
District Attorney’s office in 1997. Anything to win a
case.

Barry–
Don’t sell Ron too short. He was working at times for his aunt’ s tree service, getting paid in cash and not declaring it … wonder if the IRS will come after him for that and his drug profits?
January 29th, 2010 at 9:00 pm
Megan,
Are you Ronald’s new girlfriend.
January 30th, 2010 at 12:12 am
He could also face big trouble if the Gov’t finds out Ron and Misty were getting food stamps while receiving income, regardless how it is acquired..Not sure if Ron had a card, as he was using Misty’s to feed his girlfriend..Food stamps amount are based on income. They could be forced to repay monies received from food stamps, and/or face more jail time..

Carol: No, but I guess I’m the only one on this blog who actually listens and doesn’t judge. I have never stated anything negative about anybody else in the case, just my beliefs and MY OWN opinions.
