Jailhouse Letter #2 Takes Us Inside Haleigh Cummings Case!!

First there was the first letter from Kristina Prevatt, aka Nay Nay, Misty Cummings’ friend who drove the girls and “White Boy”
Greg Page on a wild three day party all participants have told police involved sex and drugs, ending early Sunday morning the weekend before Haleigh vanished.
That letter, written to a Nay Nay ex and father of their baby girl and dated Sept. 18, revealed Putnam County detectives had confronted her with a sworn statement from a former inmate who claimed she was at a party with Misty the night the 17 year old claimed to be at home with Ronald Cummings’ children.
In his affadavit, the former inmate accuser said Haleigh had accidentally OD’d on Oxycontin, then got dumped in a black bag and tossed into a pond in the area–a pond like the one that PCSD drained Sept. 17 (possibly acting on the inmate tip after he bonded out mid-summer on cocaine charges.
Some top guns at the PCSD called the letter a “farce,” worthless, but other law enforcement sources tell me detectives on the Haleigh task force did indeed confront Nay Nay with those blockbuster claims, offering us a rare glimpse at the strategy investigators are using to peel away at the onion of truth–putting pressure on anyone and everyone close to Misty Cummings.
In the case of Tommy Croslin, it worked. He came up with new information–that Misty was apparently not home when he claimed he’d banged repeatedly on the trailer door at 10 p.m. and got no answer–after he’d been locked up for a few days on a whopping $50,000 bond for a minor alleged gun theft. Now, his mother, Lisa Croslin, faces a $100,000 bond in Nashville for an alleged $400 check forgery.
Nay Nay maintains she knows nothing about Haleigh’s disappearance, or Misty’s whereabouts that night, in her exclusive interview at www.artharris.com. And while some officials call the letter “farcical,” it was indeed used to press her for Misty information, while hammering national media for focusing so much attention on it.
But with so little public disclosure about the investigation, any scrap of information that shows how the federal, state and local task force is actively working the case becomes food for grieving families and a public starving for hope that Haleigh will be found or the kidnapper caught and punished–and further bonds police and their tireless efforts with the community they are relying on for the one tip, the one sighting that may crack the case.
Indeed, the letter, now two letters, are in fact reassuring that the task force is seizing every opportunity to grill and re-grill, and serves up one actual theory sources confirm detectives were pursuing in their assumption Misty Cummings has been lying about her whereabouts that night–claiming she was at the trailer asleep as she and her lawyer, Robert Fields, maintain.
The theory described in the letter Nay Nay sent her ex, Donnie Spells, also asks him to send money and reminds him of her alibi, suggests Misty took off after fighting with Ronald Cummings on the phone at 8:30 p.m., and didn’t answer his 20 odd calls until after 3 a.m. when he came home to find Haleigh missing, Misty home and him demanding she call 911. So many questions, that have to be asked, but have yet to be answered:
Had she just come home from a party when she claimed to be sleeping at the trailer with the children? Had she just awakened after a surprise party at the trailer? Did Haleigh wake up and say, “I’m gonna tell my Daddy,” and have to be silenced to to save Misty from the Wrath of Ron?
It’s pure speculation, but it’s one fear, sources tell me, Ron Cummings has shared with others, despite his public comments that he has not seen any hard evidence she was involved or knows anything.
“He told me he thinks Misty was home partying and let someone in, Haleigh saw something and said she was gonna tell Daddy, and that sealed her fate,” Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch tells The Bald Truth in an exclusive interview. Miller spent hours with Misty and Ron, as he set up the polygraphs that Misty cancelled once before finally agreeing.
Nor do the letters close the door on other unanswered questions. Did a sexual predator or someone else know Misty would be asleep, and prop the door open to slip in and steal the child? Did she prop it open to avoid waking the kids when she left and came back, only to discover the horror of a missing Haleigh? Is she protecting someone she fears more than confessing what she knows?
Fielding questions about that night, Misty “miserably” flunked a private polygraph and voice stress test, says Texas Equusearch founder Tim Miller who says she took them voluntarily; her lawyer disputes their validity.
Regardless of the letters questionable value as evidence, investigators tell me they offer a rare window inside Misty’s world, and the Satsuma netherworld of teens, drugs and wild times that put Ronald Cummings’ children at risk–and the kind of people they have to rely on as witnesses to an unsolved mystery that make this case so frustrating. “Interviewing these people is like trying to interview a rock,” one investigator tells me. “Only rocks are smarter.”
In the letters, Nay Nay describes detectives grilling her not just once, but again in the second letter about this theory.
If she wasn’t home alone with the kids, that suggests she:
a) may have left the children at home to sleep (figuring they’d keep sleeping or make sure they’d stay asleep while she partied, with some sort of sedative), or;
b) she took them with her and Haleigh accidently ingested a yukky tasting pill that killed her (unlikely idea say caregivers who say she hated taking meds) or that someone possibly gave her something so she wouldn’t tell Daddy.
Our sources tell us she was always a heavy sleeper, as were her brothers growing up, and the three day party binge leading up to that night fuels the possibility she could have slept through her brother, Tommy Croslin, banging on the door about 10 p.m. the night Haleigh vanished.
Now, there is letter number two, also obtained by private investigator Williams Staubs, aka Cobra, from a Satsuma source close to Nay Nay we also spoke with who confirms their authenticity. Number 2 offers more details of detectives’ confrontation of Prevatt. Whether this theory of what happened to Haleigh holds up, or not, both Prevatt, WBG and Misty have proclaimed their innocence, and sources tell me previously Page and Nay Nay were ruled out as connected to Haleigh’s disappearance.
Law enforcement, for months, has been hunting that one witness who is credible to place Misty outside the trailer where she has claimed she was sleeping, and possible immunity offers have been discussed, but so far no one solid has surfaced. If Joe the ex inmate were considered rock solid as a witness or purveyor of party info that could be backed up by a solid one, some experts suggest someone would be behind bars by now.
While we don’t know if Letters 1 and 2, change anything, they offer a fascinating look at the strategy detectives are using to pressure those close to Misty in the hopes any kernal of information can be squeezed, and we hear Misty is keeping up with the goings – on while on the road, distraught as other family members go to jail — lately her mother — and weeping that, at least for now, husband Ronald Cummings refuses to pick up her calls, our Satsuma sources tell us.
The letters also quote the purported inmate as saying Nay Nay’s car was used to transport Haleigh’s body, which, if true, would make it a crucial resting place for any possible DNA evidence. But neither the letters, nor law enforcement reveal what tests police may have run on the car they recently seized from the junkyard, as Nay Nay calls it, ‘CSI shit.”
Private investigator William Staubs says he urged investigators to seize the car months ago when he learned that another young woman had borrowed the car and told Nay Nay she’d gotten it it stuck in the mud in the woods. He says it was never done. Police could not be reached for comment about the car Sunday.
In an exclusive videotaped interview published at artharris.com, click on and listen how Prevatt details how she got angry at Brooks over the dent in her trunk. She says Brooks first denied she’d done it, then said it must have happened when she asked a friend to push the car out of the mud.
In our interview with her, Nay Nay related how Brooks rushed over to borrow the car upon learning authorities might be coming to test it. Nay Nay related how Brooks took clothes belonging to her and Misty from the trunk, then dumped possible cleaning fluid inside.
Investigators deny this was the car some claimed was pulled from the pond, and that the flatbed truck spotted with a car atop it along the road leading from the pond last week came from a neighbor who was having it towed. Submerged or not, we’re curious whether any DNA evidence might be still recovered from the car, after sitting in the junkyard, and whether any Amber Brooks has ever been quizzed about the allegations she used the car and cleaned out the trunk.

I’m shocked to learn that LE never did any “CSI shit” on that car until recently. That video you are refering to is old.
What we need is a timeline posted. I think what needs to be done is to go back down to Satsuma and interview the closest neighbors. If she had left surely someone saw something.
No evidence at the trailer to substantiate that anyone else was there except her brother and kids. He came by again at 10 pm and no one in the immediate neighborhood knew? He was bangin on the door and no one heard? This is Monday night, most people have to work the next day. I call BS. Who lives a stones throw away? REINTERVIEW THEM
There has got to be a connection with that dumpster close by. Bottom line the dogs hit on it. They are trained to smell human remains. I believe the person who killed Haleigh is alot closer than eveyone thinks.

I am not sure how much emphasis I would put on these letters because of the fact that these people are on drugs. That makes is hard to know what is fact and what is fiction.
To me, the way the Croslin family has been acting is more telling. I wonder if investigators have checked to see if perhaps it is Misty’s family that actually has something to do with Haleigh disappearing?
It is really odd that one brother moved up north right after Haleigh went missing.
It is also odd that at the beginning of all this, another brother never said he had gone to Ron’s to check on Misty. Now all of a sudden when pressured, the guy comes out and says he banged on the door and no one answered.
Another odd thing – Misty’s parents suddenly moved out of state. Right before the parents leave town, Misty’s Mama says her daughter and Ron are both hiding something. Now they have had her arrested so they can question her more.
I actually think it is Misty’s family that is hiding something. Perhaps someone in her family kidnapped Haleigh and Misty is too afraid to tell Ron?
Perhaps Misty wasn’t home but had left the kids sleeping and her brother went in the back door and took Haleigh and sold her for drug money. Or to pay a drug debt?
I just hope the investigators are exploring all angles of this, and not just Misty.

The more I listen to this taping od Simone Barret today..I think how much Amber would of hated Ron’s OTHER children and Misty could of easily conned her into helping her get rid of Haleigh…just a thought!

I believe that the letters are bogus for 1 reason. The people telling the story answer questions only when promised something. How long is Kristina Prevatt(a.k.a. Nay-Nay)going to be in jail and what’s her beef.If Nay-Nay was with “white boy Greg” when they dumped the body then they are guilty of conspiracy. Why doesn’t Putnam county law enforcement take Nay Nay to the pond or check out Greg’s car.Why doesn’t Nay Nay tell the cops where Misty is, she knows I’m sure. It is does not make sense that Misty would prop open the door herself to sneak back in, she could manage the door like all people and simply close it behind her. The only reason it would be propped open is to make way to carry something through the doorway. My issue is with Hank Jr did Police ask him to take a Polygraph? If not that would be absolutely baffling. If he declined that would be suspicious. If so was the question asked if he went to the home that night? Was he asked if Haleigh opened the door to him? That is a yes or no question and one I would want to ask given his claim of going to the home. Was he questioned by officers that are not hell bent on Misty just to ensure all angles are looked at? Did he walk to the home or drive? How long was he at the home? If he walked then I would look at how far of a distance could be covered in that time frame and do ground searches or look at predators registered in that area for the possibility of her being sold. As for letters like this, gossip, and bogus leads people should be charged for that type of thing, ultimately it takes away from Haleigh and could cause her to be held longer while Police chase bogus leads, not a nice thing to do.

This story is so sad.Misty surely knows what happened to Haleigh and everyone will see in a week or two I do believe.I think the PCSO has given all these people enough time to ALL come clean.And I think everyone of them who have held back any info should be charged.Everyone is so afraid,well imagine how this family feels.What are they afraid of being locked up and not being able to get high.A family has had it’s heart ripped out and they need closer and time to heal.These letters may not hold the WHOLE truth,but I fear they are not far off.God Bless Haleigh’s Family and I pray for the people who are working the case.

No Misty does not have a drivers license she’s to stupid to have one she can’t even read or spell.She’s a 6th grade drop out.But she does drive she said and other people have said Misty sometimes drove Haleigh,and her nieces and nephews to school or to the bus stop and I think other places.There was a van parked in the driveway the night Haleigh went missing.How do we know that Misty didn’t do something to Haleigh and then drove her somewhere? Where the police havn’t searched?.

Jailhouse letter about Haleigh case revealed
PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — Every piece of mail that goes through the Putnam County jail is screened by the corrections department.
One of those letters that was screened was written by Kristina Prevatt, a friend of Misty Croslin-Cummings, who goes by the nickname, Nay Nay.
The jail director told Action News the corrections department intercepted the letter because it contained the word Haleigh.
In the letter, from Prevatt to her boyfriend, she wrote “Someone told detectives I was with Misty, White Boy Greg and Haleigh and Jr. the night of Haleigh’s disappearance when you know I was at your house.” It goes on to say, “We were all over at a party at Chad’s house and Haleigh got a hold of some oxycontin and died. We suppossedly freaked out and Greg put her in a black bag in my car and we took her to a pond at the Mondex,” Prevatt wrote.
In the letter Prevatt told her boyfriend, Donnie, the story was made up.
Action News spoke with Donnie but he would not acknowledge if he received the letter.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office tells us there isn’t much value to the letter because detectives already searched the pond over the weekend and didn’t find anything significant.
They say they found out about the letter after the pond was drained.
They are calling the story in the letter a possible theory, and say they’re hopeful it is not true.
“It’s giving an indication this child is dead. Our hope is the child is still alive,” said Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Chief Rick Ryan.
Prevatt’s sister, Kelly Dodd, showed Action news a similar letter Thursday that was written to Prevatt’s family. It is addressed to ‘Nay Nay’s’ mom, Diane Prevatt.
“Me, Misty, White Boy Greg and Ronald’s kid were at Chad’s and Haleigh got a hold of some pills and died and White Boy put her in the trunk and we dropped her off in a pond, which is a lie,” wrote Prevatt.
Dodd says her sister is telling the truth. “I think she was at her baby daddy’s house,” she said. “I don’t think she had anything to do with it. I didn’t think Misty did either because Misty was my friend, I knew her personally, really well since she was 14 and I didn’t think something like this would happen,” said Dodd.
Thursday afternoon Hank Croslin Junior, Misty’s brother, was released from jail. He was serving time for a Grand Theft charge.

Hanky Panky is their guy. Just sayin’! I think that LE knows it too and are just waiting to catch him for sure. Momma croslin is trash and has always stood up for her boys even when they were sexually abusing misty. Its the culture. Momma croslin knows that Hank is no good and that he is involved. He made up that story about knocking on the door. It will come out eventually and LE is being patient. They know misty didn’t harm haliegh, but they know she is lying about something. Maybe leaving the back door open to sneak back in. Hank was there alright. Misty left the light on in the kitchen in case haleigh woke up. Hank was already there that evening grabbing on misty and went back to get him some more. but saw misty was gone, so he took haliegh instead. she died and he threw her in the dumpster. got in a panic, took her out, put her in the back of the van, dumped her somewhere and came back and parked the car in a different location. He scratched it down the side too wherever he went to dump haleigh. that whole croslin family knew he did something and that is why they all scattered like a bunch of cockroaches when the lights come on. they know its going down and they don’t want to be involved. momma croslin is gonna try and save her boy though. she knows he ain’t no good.

Yes hank very well could of propped that door open to get haley out because he knew it slammed shut. misty probably left it unlocked or maybe hank unlocked it before he left that evening, knowing he was gonna sneak back in. Either way, I think he is the one who took haliegh and she died. He is in a real panic now and will get caught.

I don’t know any of these other people but I used to know Joey Pytko. If he filled out an affidavit saying Haleigh is dead, then I’m sorry….she’s dead. He’s most definitely not the type to make up a story like that. Drugs or no.
Joey’s the type that if you’re watching a news story about this type of thing, he’d just get up and go do something else or ask you to change the channel. He doesn’t have the stomach for hearing about kids getting hurt.
The only thing left to do is beef up the searches for her body. I hope that the police are doing just that. Given the area, animals have more than likely gotten to her. Find her & don’t cut ANY deals.

It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the sky was so blue and clear. Two of my oldest and dearest friends and I took a long walk down by a river. We held hands and we asked the Universe and the Creator of us all to allow the truth to come out in the open. God knows where Haleigh is, and He knows who was the last one to hold her. My prayer is this, that who so ever knows the truth will tell the truth. My heart goes out to those who love little Haleigh.

Since junior said the couch was bouncing and man dressed in black took his sissy, kids don’t make up this kind of stuff has to be some truth to it. Maybe WBG or other guy was visiting Misty that night and Haleigh was not quite asleep they decided to give her some type of sedative so that they could party and because of her illness it was too much for her and she died. Then the boyfriend carried her out the back door and dumped body in lake or where ever. If Haleigh was already dead at home and dogs hit on dumpster, could of been something that was tossed at time with Haleigh scent. Also if Ron and Misty were arguing on phone that night, Misty would have been upset and not able to sleep. Misty has a lot to hide. On one interview she said she had gotten up to get a drink of water, and on others it was to go to the bathroom. It’s too coincidental of her just finding out Haleigh is gone just as Ron is pulling in the drive. Not buyin it Misty.

Art, this is a fantastic article summarizing the current happenings, while including some of our theories. I also think the police are doing a good job of trying to put this 500,000 piece puzzle together & find the missing pieces. It just takes awhile.
I think I remember Ron or somone saying they kept a key hidden outside. Is this correct?
If so could Amber have known this was a habit of Ron’s from their time together? Would Tommy or any of Misty’s family have known this?

The twenty phone calls Ron made that night raises many questions.
I am currently working with a couple who are divorcing. The man is very controlling & suspicious. He calls or texts the woman many, many times each day (sometimes 10 to 15 times per hour) to keep tabs on her or to argue some small point over & over. After the woman tires of arguing she stops answering or responding & turns her phone off.
I would think that Ron was likely giving Misty a good going over about disappearing for three days. He doesn’t seem the type to forgive & forget quickly.
Is it possible that Misty turned the phone off when she tired of arguing with him, so she could sleep? Did Misty have a cell phone?
I don’t know if there is a way for police to check this. On a land line, I think only the ringer on the phone would be turned off.
I know the twenty phone calls haven’t been discussed much on TV. But Ron doesn’t seemed to have been too concerned about her not answering. He stopped to buy beer when he got off from work instead of rushing straight home. So perhaps, like the couple I mentioned, this was a more common occurrence than we might think.

I will be very surprised if this case is ever solved, mostly due to the fact that everyone involved are all drug addicts. Misty having come off of a three day drug fest, and possibly another night of drugging while Ron is working, more than likely doesn’t remember herself exactly what was truly going on. Hence, her ever changing stories, as most of them are probably made up at best.
I truly believe the only reason Ron and his Mom are appearing to hold up for Misty, is simply to protect their behinds in regards to Ron’s custody of the children. Since this case is constantly in the paper and on tv, etc., it doesn’t bode well for Ron’s parenting skills that he willing has allowed his most precious possessions, Haleigh and Jr, to be baby sat by a known drug abuser. Plus part of the reason he had custody is the fact that he told the Judge that his Mother and GrandMother were going to be helping care for these children. Instead he has not 1 but 2 teenage druggies caring for what he professes to be his “heart”, Haleigh and Jr. If he openly admits this fact on tv and in the news media, he stands the chance of losing custody of Jr. Hence, he is giving the outward and public appearance of defending Misty of being a “good babysitter” rather than admit the truth.
So bottom line, how can a missing child be found, when all parties concerned are drug addicts, and lying and protecting their own hides, including the father himself? I don’t mean to imply that Ron is a current drug user, just that he himself continues to lie to all concerned. How can anyone feel the LE can ever begin to solve a case, with all this deception going on with everyone concerned.
I would like to make a comment about these letters. Everyone that reads these letters from Nay Nay, can come away with a different meaning as to what the contents hold, depending on how they view the person writing them and also on how deeply they have become involved with the case. My take on the letters is completely different than on anyone elses that I have read thus far, and believe me I have read on many boards peoples take.
People do tend to get too carried away with these cases, and start posting personal information about anyone remotely involved, including innocent people who just happen to live on the same street that Ron once lived on and I think this borders on invasion of peoples privacy. I don’t care if this information is out there for people to find, I still feel it is invading innocent peoples privacy.
Thanks for allowing me to vent my opinion through your site. I am sorry to say that the way this case is going, and with everyone interferring, I don’t see any way this case will be solved in the near future. I do not believe this case will break wide open within the next week or two. I do believe this case will be nothing but a dead end and never known what exactly happened to Haleigh. I do hope that I am wrong, but I don’t see it right now.
Poor Jr. needs to be taken away from Ron and his Mother and Grandmother, who have proven they are not capable of taking proper care of these two children, since one is missing on their watch and they are providing protection and alibi’s for the one who was supposedly baby sitting these two children at the time one has disappeared. DFS needs to be hounded daily until they do something to assure that the child left under these people’s watch is safely out of their hands.

When Misty’s mom moved to Nashville, is that close to where Crystll Shefield lived? I still believe she is nvolved in this somehow. Couldn’t it be that she(Crystall) had someone remove aleigh from the home that nite after Misty was asleep? And where is she now? Has her neighbors and home been investigated? JUst my gut telling me something is way wrong with this letter nd everyone is arrested and then all this so-called evidence and letters surface. I think they are all lying to tell you the truth.

I hope that LE reads this information.
This are the facts that I beleive play a big factor on Haleigh missing:
1. Misty’s questionable timelines
2. Ronald’s Alibi (at work)
Ronald going to work early? Is this his common practice or did he just do it on this date?
Ronald working over hours? Again is this common practice for Ronald or did he just do it on this date?
3. No force entry
4. Ronald bloody hand (from hitting door that was supposedly propped opened)
5. Ronald had a large bandage on the left side of his neck
Does anyone know why he had that bandage?
6. Van scratches and light damages
Did LE find out who, where, time, when and how those scratches got on that van?
7. Ronald’s questionable behavior and demeanor
8. Misty’s questionable behavior and demeanor
9. Ronald’s numerous attempts to reach Misty
Does not reach her until 3:00a.m., but instead on going directly home, he stops at a shop to buy beer and stuff? This is also the time that Misty reports waking up and finding Haleigh missing?
10. Tommy checking up on Misty (Reports that NO One is at home, light off) Bangs on door, perhaps that is the noise neighbors heard?
11. Damages to Nay Nay’s car (Brook borrowed)
When, date and time did she borrow the car, for how long and where did she go with who?
12. Cadavor Dogs hitting on trash container? Not one but 3 dogs hitting on the same container would likely indicate that at one point Haleigh was place in that container and moved before LE checked.
13. Fight between Misty and Ronald (Ronald has obviously demonstrated his temper by leaving an imprint of his fist on the propped opened door.) How long were they on the phone arguing?
14. Misty having difficult time with Haleigh not wanting to go to sleep. (Misty is young and caring for two young kids can be a challenge)
15. Involvement with Child Protective Services (Most people would not quote CPS guidelines for spanking a child unless they have involvement or actually work for the department.)
16. Possible OD on oxycontin
LE should get Ronald’s and Misty’s doctor’s name and address and find out if any of them has a prescription of oxycontin?
I heard Theresa Neves state that Haleigh would never take medication, especially something like oxycontin because it taste awful.
Art-I know that you have said many of time that LE has cleared Ronald as a suspect, but unless the truth about Haleigh doesn’t come out anyone can be seen as a suspect.
Just a theory:
As a result Haleigh did not take it on her own, but likely it was given to her by Ronald or by his direction before he left to work or from work( when Misty told him that Haleigh wouldn’t go to sleep.) Since they do not want to be forthright as to when Haleigh went missing. At 8:30 Misty and Ronald (phone) arguement(they say that they argue over Misty wanting to babysit other children) This arguement is likely related to covering up and what steps should be taken next. Ronald is aware of the container. (Dogs picked up scent) After the arguement Misty is NO Longer reachable. Ronald calls Tommy (What time did Ronald call Tommy?) Who else did Ronald call? Tommy checks on Misty at 9:45-10:00 claims NO-One was home, lights off. Did LE ask Tommy where was the VAN? This is likely when the container is emptied and Haleigh is transported elsewhere leaving scratches and dents on the van. The third time may involve Nay, Nay’s vehicle.
I really don’t see Misty doing anything without Ronald’s direction and approval.
I know that currently she’s out and about with a “friend” does not say much or mean much.

Wow. Am I reading that part about Tim Miller correctly? did he say Ron told him he thinks something happened at the house and they (misty or whoever) wanted to silence Haleigh??? and yet…he still married that girl? wth is wrong with these people?
Any great coverage again as usual Art. I am glad to see investigators are hammering people for information, they are really doing their jobs it seems, the whole thing with Amber Brooks borrowing the car after everything happened and claiming to ‘get it stuck in the mud’ and Nay Nay saying that she used chemicals to clean the trunk throwing out clothes and such really raises red flags, although I would have never suspected Amber as being related in all of this or in cohoots with Misty since they hated each other. I wonder if they are going to give Amber a polygraph too.

It seems that police may have done a very poor job and were outsmarted by a 17 year old kid.

this case is not complicated. The lies were straightforward and easily discerned. It may be that Florida LE did a horrific job investigating.

I just can’t see too many of the tips or leads being deliberately bogus. Who would want to be part of this mess that includes a missing child and two whole family groups of hillbillies? Not to mention all the drugs and sex and arrests. Sooner or later, hard info will come from a tip. That cement block propping the door open has always looked like staging to me. Do you know how heavy those things are? Ron said it had to have been moved some distance. A door can be propped open by anything, small chunk of tree branch, clothing, or what ever. The use of a cement block is meant to draw attention to the door and thus to the idea that Haleigh had been taken through the door. Ron’s pain that night seemed genuine, and that leaves Misty as the one who could have staged the scene. Did she have help? Probably. Afterwards, all she had to do is keep her mouth shut. Which she has done.

I am finding it hard to believe Ron is not in communication with Misty some how. ( IMO ) I believe this is a strategy of some sort to keep Misty from being brought in at a moments notice to speak with detetectives. Why? I am not sure. I could think of several reasons to their madness.
One of the reasons would be he needed to get Misty out of the home in order to keep little Jr. in the home.
If people still believe he knew more about Haleighs disappearance and Misty was covering for him this would remove doubt from their minds. People would feel that with these two being estranged then Misty would get angry enough to tell the truth about that night and who was involved. All in my opinion of course.
I am not sure about these letters that have surfaced. I hope they are not bogus leads for LE to chase. This would be wasting valuable time and money.
I keep praying for the piece that fits this puzzle. I pray that the correct person or people involved are put away. The drama needs to stop and the truth revealed! Haleigh needs to be brought home no matter what!

I still think that Le is dealing with two different elements that have bonded into one. I think misty may well have gone to a party, but Haleigh’s disappears is a separate incidence. She either gave her to person or person’s unknown and then attended a party, with Junior asleep in the van. She may have taken the kids and ran out for cigarettes just before 10:00 and then brought the kids home and then left again, when they were asleep. there is a total of at least 3 to 5 hours unaccounted for. Needless to say, it may well be the fear of who she left Haleigh with that causes the fear to continue lying. She holds the primary keys to that night. Also, in the beginning weeks of Haleigh gone missing, the story of maybe Haleigh got hold of some drugs and passed, was being passed around. Who’s to say this didn’t come originally from that, and a creative story had been developed. No one is going to know for sure, until Le has obtained all the answers. One thing that crossed my mind reading Nay Nay’s letter to Donnie and Her Mother, is there a privacy issue here not being addressed. In jail or not, something about sharing a person’s private mail without their permission rather makes me wonder..

Art – if Cobra has the letter from Nay Nay to Momy (sic), please have him try to figure out what was written beneath it or what was written on the pad before the Momy letter was written. You can make out the word “Misty” underneath the very first word “Hey” and the word “fight” at the end of the second line. Could it have been a letter to Misty?

I think that Misty did go to a party and Haleigh did get a hold of some pills and OD and after all that misty came home staged the scene by proping the door open and making the trailer look like someone came in… she then called ron after she made up the lie that haleigh was taken while she was sleep..i mean really she said she notice the light was on..why would someone prop a door open turn on the light (taking a bigger of being caught) to come in to take a child doesnt make any sense..and as far as the letter what idiot doesnt know the cops read letters coming in and going out..nay nay just blew the whistle but is trying to make like her part is a lie

It appears the players in this drama are deliberately sending detectives on wild goose chase….perhaps buying time for Misty and significant others to distance themselves as much as possible from probable crime scene.
Still can’t understand why…Misty, Ron, all the role players aren’t arrested….in Yorun Van Der Sloot (Natalie Holloway) case, several innocent people were arrested until they were able to provide information that checked out.
I am so afraid this case will get cold…forgotten….and the guilty escape without justice.

1. What about the red pickup her brother sold right after Haleigh went missing? Did the police check it out?
2. Why does Misty look to Ron for an answer during the Today Show interview? When she’s asked why she contradicts herself, Misty says she doesn’t know. But, before she answers, she looks toward Ron for help. Ron has kind of a funny look on his face too — very controlled.
3. I think the dogs hit on the dumpster because Haleigh’s body had been in there. Then, it was moved. That tells me the crime happened at the trailer. That also tells me the body was taken within walking distance, or someone picked her up to dispose of the body!

This whole thing is still amazing. You’re dealing with people who aren’t the brightest on the planet, who probably went all the up to the 6th grade. They spoke to cops directly, and weren’t lawyered up originally. How is it possible that they (Misty, specifically) have managed to not say anything of evidentiary value in all these months? How is it possible that there’s a reward for tens of thousands with people who don’t make that working all year, and no one has talked? This is the most bizarre case. Something is beyond strange here.

Misty had to go to that party if she was doing oxycottin for 3 days prior. She would of been dope sick after taking them all weekend and it would of been impossible to sleep. Also the pill have a wax time release over them that does not have a taste unless it was suck on or chewed which would break the time release and make them deadly even if they were spitt out after.

Hi Art,,today the 28th of September is my birthday. When Haleigh did not come home by her birthday, I had wished she would have been found by my birthday…I am beginning to believe she will never be found, due to the type of animals that are indigenous to Florida…I almost get sick when I think how someone could kill a sweet little girl, like Haleigh..Does anyone know exactly when Joe (the cousin) left Florida to go to Tennessee? This family (Croslins) are in cohouts in all types of criminal activities, and I am wondering if maybe he had a hand in getting rid of Haleigh….Have the LE even cleared this person….Why didn’t you enlarge the 2nd letter ,Art??? Didn’t the dogs lead them to the pond months ago and they never drained it then? Someone has had plenty of time to move her if so. Like maybe to the dumpster a while and then who knows where. I hope this is not the case however it seems like the police in flordia with this case and the Anthony case do not seem to be doing their jobs. How and why would a child be under mattresses that are on the floor? Misty did say she looked under the beds. why have they not arrested her at least for neglect. Also was she doing laundry with out laundry detergent. Another statement that Rons grandmother brought over clean laundry. Did they check to see if she knew what movies were in they were watching? Since the couch was reported to be bouncing was it checked for DNA? She also stated that she went to bed with no lights on there was no fingerprints the light switch? She reportedly had been on a drug benge did she owe someone money and give her for what was owed or someone take her for what was owed. How much money could she have? Drugs ain’t free! Her mother appeared on Nancy Grace at least was and seemed to be supporting her and didn’t she call her mom that night also? Now she is not supporting her maybe she knows something and dosent want to get into trouble now. Misty is also all over T.V. smoking cigarettes and littering why not fine her or arrest her for everything you can to put pressure on her. Also dosent Ron or didnt he have a gun dose he have a gun permit? Why were they involved with child protective services or what ever it is called? And if the kids were watching movies were the T.V.’s on? If so it would not be dark in the house were the dvd’s or casettes? if so were they rewound? I know ron’s mom said she once was on oxy cottins did she ever have any missing? Or ron or misty on them? Misty uses Haleigh in the past tense a lot. Also why dose Misty say she just woke up when she calls 911 also why call everyone else before calling 911? When she had been up a while. Also a couple of weeks ago on the show that comes on before Jane Veleze Mitchell the father of Misty had said that ron had to him and that he had witnesses that if he had $35,000 he could get his daughter home is there proof of that? I haven’t heard anything else about it who is the witnesses? If not why not start arresting all of theese people for false reporting especailly Misty? If Haleigh is scared of the dark like Misty said why not have lights on in the home for the child? Why in missing childeren cases are they people watching them not immediatley given drug tests, lie detectors, and held in jail? I believe there is more than one person responsible for the disappearance of little Haleigh….with that said, it make sense that the “stories” would start to unravel. These people are ALL involved in “heavy drug use”…even her father Ronald. You need a license to drive, not one to become a parent.

I’ve been watching all the coverage on this for months. I have a theory. Could Misty have gone out earlier and left the kids to sleep then came home and was passed out from drugs and/or lack of sleep so deeply that she did not hear her brother knock? She would feel guilty and worried that she was not truly watching the kids that night as she was supposed to be. Maybe being scared of Ron’s wrath if the truth came out that it would make her fail the poly as she would be still lying about something and may have guilty feelings. She does however seem truly confused and upset that haleigh is missing. Is it possible that she left the children there to sleep or was passed out then when her brother came knocking on the door haleigh woke up and scared that she was alone or wondering who it was…went out to look. I believe a 5 yrs old is bright enough to move a brick in front of the door to make sure she can get back in. Could someone of a preditor nature have seen the little girl walking late at night alone and stole her away. As for the letters from Jail…could someone then with connections to the real abductor be trying to lay blame back on Misty to cover up what really happened by putting pressure on people to make up the story of putting her in the pond and misty giving the child drugs to cover a story of drugs given by an abductor if a body is recovered? I see the posting about the alligators and I believe that it would be possible if she was killed that they would be expecting a body to be gone if dumped in the pond. The story “whiteboy” told could be a “just in case cover up” if any part of her ever turned up. Believe me though, I truly hope that she is alive and can be recovered some how. Hopefully if she did wander into other hands that they have just been scared to come forward due to kidnapping charges and are actually looking after her. Well, I think that Amber Brooks has something to do with Haleigh disappearing. Yes, I agree that Misty has the key to finding Haleigh, but I believe that Amber was the one who harmed her. Amber has a 2year old son with Ronald Cummings, which Ronald doesn’t claim and hasn’t seen since he was a baby. Well obviously, that has to bother Amber, that he will claim Haleigh and JR, but not her boy. Also, Amber borrowed Nay Nay’s car and got it stuck in the woods. This was possibly in the mondex where the pond was drained in order to find Haleigh. Amber also put a dent in the trunk of the car. When Amber got word of the detectives coming to search Nay Nay’s car, she rushed over to borrow it again and convienently clean it out. Including removing her clothes and some of Misty’s clothes from the trunk. Then she sprayed some sort of cleaning agent. It appears that Amber has something to hide. All along I have thought that Misty was responsible for Haleigh’s disappearance, but now I have serious suspicions about Amber Brooks. We will see how it all plays out. And we pray for Haleigh to be found soon.

You can tell that whenever Nancy Grace asked her a question about why she(Neves) and Ronald don’t take Misty to the police station she says Misty lawyerd up. You can tell that Ms. Grace is becoming “skeptical” of Ms. Neves and the whole family. Watchout Ms. Neves, if anyone else other than Nancy Grace became “skeptical” you’d be okay. Misty’s holding back information, everyone in LE (as well as 98% of the people following this case) seem to agree with that but if she wants to hide behind a lawyer, just move on.
NayNay has tried to send her boyfriend (via mail…twice) to go talk to Joe Pytko in regards to his affidavit. That’s tampering with a witness. The courts may not find him credible but why confront him if he’s not?
For Christ’s sake, she calls this a homicide investigation in her first letter to Donnie Spells.

If you were going to interview NayNay & attempt to get information from her, why would you mention any name it all?
The accusation includes 3 other people besides NayNay (chad, Misty, White Boy Greg)
Seems like it would be more strategic to throw the details out there and make her guess who’s doing the talking, correct?
If you think somebody might be guilty of homicide (accidental or otherwise) & you tell that person that there’s a witness & here’s his name, do you consider the fact that you’re putting that person & their family at risk?
Does it make it okay to put that person & their family at risk if they have a police record?
If you’re a member of the press and you get a hold of a letter that includes the name of a possible witness, do you release the name of that witness to the general public?
Could somebody possibly point me to where the smart people are that are involved in this investigation?

I think Misty left after the kids went to sleep, to party, and Ron kept calling to “check up” on her, and couldn’t reach her, SO, he called Misty’s brother and asked him to go over and see if she was there, and what was going on. (I think I read somewhere that Ron had just gotten hired, and couldn’t miss work.) . . . knowing that Misty would think that. Haleigh’s body was then taken to Tennesse …and dumped, OR they actually did put her in the pond and the gators have already doen their thing.
Another theory, is that Crystal Sheffield’s boyfriend at the time of Haleigh’s disappearance, arranged to have Haleigh “taken” so that Crystal could gain back custody, and also because Crystal owed back child support and was getting ready to face contempt for that. Maybe he and some of his thug friends took her and somehow she was accidentally killed and they had to dispose of her body. I agree with another poster, that there is something bothersome about Crystal Sheffield. For those of you who think this is far-fetched. . . I have had something similar happen in my own family. You would not believe to what extremes people will go when it comes to custody and child support. . . especially red-neck, drug users! Some Hillbilly People are very “clannish” and take offense at very odd things. And, most generation-welfare, pill-popping, trailer-trash rednecks could care less about their kids, only the money they bring in on a monthly basis!
The only 2 people I have any sympathy for in this whole mess is Little Junior, and Teresa Neves.

I live in a small town in the South and our local law enforcement, save for a handful, are as corrupt as the day is long.
Could it be possible that Misty, Amber, Nay Nay, Ronald, or others had ties to dirty cops with respect to drugs, partying, or sexual favors?
Why would the local cops in Fla. not want the help of Cobra? Why was this investigation so botched from the beginning?
Something is so amiss here. These folks aren’t that intelligent. This entire thing stinks to high heaven.
It’s my firm opinion that someone with the authority to do so is covering for someone who is guilty. The fact that Grandma worked for Sheriff’s office & what all Ron got away with speaks volumes.
