It’s the first time I’ve heard Misty Cummings explain why she says she washed the blanket and put it back over 5 year old Haleigh Cummings before she put her to bed at 8 p.m. Feb. 9, then went to bed herself.
“It smelled like pee,” she says under artful questioning by private investigator T.J. Ward of Atlanta, who administered the layered voice analysis test two weeks ago at the request of Tim Miller’s Texas Equusearch and Misty herself. “Who’s going to cover up a kid with a blanket that smells like pee?” she asks Ward.
The Bald Truth is posting exclusively a copy of Misty’s signed consent form, and the actual voice analysis report, including graphs of Misty’s voice that Ward says shows a lot of stress –and deception — in its peaks and valleys.
Misty claims she washed the blanket, although husband Ronald later said there was no detergent in the house; his grandmother, Annette Sykes, has said she dropped off clean clothes that day.
Voice stress testing is not as widely accepted as reliable compared to traditional polygraphs used by law enforcement as an investigative tool, but Ward says it’s unique –and gaining wider acceptance with outfits like the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department — and can reveal degrees of truth or falsity in real time as an individual tells a story.
“I just asked her to tell me the story of what happened the last day anyone saw Haleigh alive, Feb. 9 and 10, and let her ramble,” Ward tells The Bald Truth in an exclusive interview.
“Then, when I started seeing deception, I started asking questions. I could see when she started having probems, and could follow up in real time. It’s different from a polygraph in that it’s more like a conversation. And it works with audio or video tapes as well.”
As Misty spoke, Ward interrupted to ask about 25 questions, he says, compared to the 6 question polygraph test Misty also took with a private examiner. Like the lie detector test taken by Haleigh’s stepmother, the 17 year old former babysitter showed deception on the LVA, says Ward. “She’s not telling the truth.”
Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch has said Misty failed his polygraph “miserably,” showing upwards of 99 per cent deception.
Ward tells me that Misty also appeared to be lying throughout his testing, but did appear to be more confused than lying when he asked who took Haleigh; Ward agrees with law enforcement that she appears to know more about Haleigh’s vanishing than she’s revealing.
“We think she’s scared to death of Ronald and what he might do to her if he finds out what she knows, or she reveals what she knows,” a top law enforcement official tells me in an exclusive interview.
But Terry Shoemaker, Ronald’s new attorney says that despite the negative blow back from the tests like the LVA she took voluntarily, her husband stands behind Misty 100 percent, reported News4Jax.com.
“He has no reason not to believe his wife at this point, and he’s going to stand by her until something else comes up,” Shoemaker said, according to the Web site.
According to Misty’s party friends I interviewed on videotape posted on artharris.com, Kristina “Nay Nay” Prevatt, and a young man who goes by the nickname “White Boy” Greg, Misty left Ronald on the Thursday before Haleigh vanished after a fight for three days of sex, drugs and parties.
In her interview with Ward, she mentions she was gone for the weekend, but doesn’t mention her revenge romance with WBG that has become an underlying irritation for Ronald, he confided to me over sweet tea and fried grouper at MeMa’s café several months ago.
That revenge fling she confirmed to investigators after a fight with Ronald lead to her calling Nay Nay to come pick her up.
Regardless, Misty struck a chord of poignancy with me the first time I interviewed her after her Today Show debacle, describing her hard life, absentee parents with their own problems, and told Ward she was molested by a cousin, as well as one brother, and that her sad life didn’t’ look like it was going to get any better. You can’t help but feel for the kid. After all, as she says, “how much can a 17 year old girl take?”
But cops tell me they aren’t buying Misty the victim. “She’s as manipulative as they get,” confides one investigator.
“During our interview, she was definitely playing the victim,” says Ward:. “She tried to manipulate me a couple of times. I saw it on the test. If she’s crying and it’s not real, it shows ‘manipulation.’”

With all this hub bub and weight put into lie detectors I went & did my research, I had always heard “never submit to a lie detector test, they clear the guilty and convict the innocent” I have never been in a situation in which I have had to actually make the decision. I researched from the makers of the machine itself. The test measures several things, all of which can be fooled and quite successfully has been, CIA Agent repeatedly tested passed when in fact he was a spy. Nerves, fear, and even health can impact the results, the makers their self state it is not a lie detector that name was given by the media and it is not meant to be used as a tool to guarantee the results show a lie. There are other factors that can cause some one to fail, what they may think or assume depending on what level they believe it, and what is fact. Also there is the issue of things that don’t have anything to do with it but the one being tested may not want that out before the whole world. After doing my homework on the test and reviewing several cases where it cleared killers and rapist but convicted innocent I do not believe I would submit to one. Give some privacy to the families in these cases. Wait for the facts when they finally get a leader that is willing, strong, and smart enough to see the unimaginable, think the unthinkable, peel back the layers, then the answers will come to light.

The real ‘birth’ mother of Haleigh just seems numb.
Guess she never made, or earned enough money to get screwed and impregnated in the first place.
And what about a fine husband like Ron?
If this ain’t a lesson on having a kid no one really wanted in the first place, I really can’t imagine a finer example…

Art, I believe I remember Ron stating that They woke up late and Haleigh had spilled something on her outfit that morning and she had to change her clothes, in which made him in a hurry to get her to school on time. I believe it was his neighbor Jerry Santos he made this statement to. Now Misty says it was because she wanted to wear the out fit from GG Sykes home and this is what made them run late.
It seems they’re using thats our story and we are sticking to it motto, irreguardless what has already been disproven.

At the very least we have learned that Ronald & Misty are unfit parents. Their arguments, the fighting between Ronald & Misty’s family and the drug use show they are not fit to raise a dog much less a child. Why in the world has the State of Florida not stepped in and taken Junior out of this home. It makes me sick!

With the temperment that Ron has I would suspect if he believed Misty knew where Haleigh was he would have already beat it out of her, providing he wanted this child back. More than likely Ron himself is the cause of his daughter “missing”. I still believe all the Cummings know what happend to her and if Misty family knows they will be talking soon enough. Somebody needs to dog Ron a Misty till Haleigh is brough back …and I don’t meant to Ron and Misty!

I will say to the naysayers that technology has really improved over the years. So theres alot to be said about mistakes made in the past and what can interfere with the results of a ploy- ehem medications drugs, mental illness. It is not a perfect system, but its a tool to use for the pro’s. not us lay googlers.
Art: I have a few questions or a comment to ask you specifically.
Based on what Ward tells you about how you can run this test LVA on other audio & video….Including 911 recorded tapes? I say they should test the 911 tapes to look for deceptions there as well. Hidden ones, ones that you or I havent picked up on. KWIM
Secondly, the LE you spoke to who tells you Misty is afraid of Ronald therefore not revealing what she knows. That to me is only a half-truth youre being told. Sorry, but she’s afraid of Ronald to a point. And if Ronald is so big, bad & scary…he could of gotten the truth out of her by now. It is of my conclusion that Misty is afraid to tell the truth for fear of what he will do to her and what she stands to lose from telling. Misty isnt allowed to tell the truth.
with that said and the way it is being report about Mistys inconsistancies…she is continued to be the main focus, this constantly diverts: which is what bothers some the most. Why are their article to pick apart Ronalds inconsistancies as well. Aside from the fact we know he was at “werk” and he supports his wife (abeit a lier), why are reporter “not” digging into his pattern of obvious clear & deceptions? Why cant we go there? I say have someone anyalize the 911 tapes and so on, Misty is currently holding the preverbial bag here in the medias eyes.

Very well explained J. The age of the person can also impact the results. I feel Misty was victimized by Tim Miller who I had the greatest respect for until now. I wonder if Misty has a lawsuit over all these bad things being reported about her. She may be 18 now but when someone took Haleigh she was only 17 considered a minor child according to the laws.
Pray for Haleigh to be brought home safe to Ron and Misty.

Misty knows more than she is admitting there is no way Haleigh would have left on her own her dad said she was afraid of the dark the locks were hard to turn so she could not have opened it I think Misty put the block there after Haleigh came up missing no one knows when she really came up missing they only have Misty’s word to go on I hope they find her soon and I pray she is alive and she can tell the world what happened. But NO one will ever convince me Misty did not have something to do with it and I would not be suprised to here Ronald had something to do with it to all we have is a fake time line and Nancy Grace for some reason maybe she has a cursh on him saying it wasnt him she is always so out to get the mom Crystal Nancy is like a shark when it comes to her she was not there and he was in charge of making sure Haleigh was safe when he went to work so Nancy it was Ronald who let Haleigh down Not Crystal. Lets not forget when this first came out Nancy was pertecting Misty saying everyone was just out to get her so Nancy want her to babysit your kids?

Mr. Harris: I’ve been a homicide detective for many years and the cases in Florida really bother me. The way they are being investigated make me wonder if the county budget is affecting the investigation. There is also a difference of how two of these cases have been treated and I wonder about the fairness of them. The first being, of course, Casey Anthony. She was arrested after about 6 – 7 months are first degree murder. There was no body. No clear cut evidence, but a lot of circumstanial evidence. She has a no bail conviction. Fact remains that Ms. Anthony was arrested for murder. So,lets move on to Misty Cummins now that all indications are leading to the fact that Misty Cummings is involved in this abduction, why not do the same to her? I understand that we all have our own technique in interrogation, but I believe tripping her up in questioning will lead the proper authorities to Halieghs body. The detectives that are involved in this case make me wonder if they have a lot of experience. I’m not putting them down at all, all their hard work, efforts and concern have lost them a lot of sleepless hours. Im just wondering if the FBI and/or State Police can be involved in this. My main focus would be Misty, as I am sure it is, however, I feel that if they turned up the heat, Misty will finally melt. Good luck to all involved.

I do not know what the right response or the wrong response should be in this situation. But I do know that over time, she came up with a “by rote” explantion that just didn’t sound right. I do not believe that she was under hypnosis in the latest releases nor do I believe she was telling the truth in her statements of what happened that night.
There is alot more to this abuduction of Haleigh and I believe her father and her “step mother” both know what happened. I don’t know if this child is dead, but I do believe she is still in danger if she has not passed. Her father and his “wife” need to come clean with LEO to get this dear little child back into loving arms! It is time to stop playing the games they have played and come clean in what is going on in this sad situation!

What I meant to say was: Why does it seem that lately when I read an article, there is NEVER a mention of Ronald supporting his wife whom flunked a Poly? KWIM? If there is any mention of Ronald, it kept at a level of pleasantries IMO. Why is Misty the preverbial scapegoat in the latest of news? Cause I think the two of them have some more splainin to do. I believe Misty is lieing. About what and to what extent I don’t know. But she definitely knows more than she is saying and I believe she will stick to that story because it is working for her. She has her own family and Ronalds family standing behind her. She has not been to jail. It is working. She, at this point, has no reason to change her story. I believe if more pressure was applied to her by LE and family she would break. She needs to lose the support system. One of the things that I have been curious about from day one is that in every interview done by Misty to this day she sounds scripted. Pay attention when she says she put the kids to bed she never fails to include that is their bedtime. She is word for word in all interviews. Am I the only one that notices this?

As I watch these family members with their in-fighting between exes, grandmas …etc. I couldn’t help but notice right from the beginning that Misty Croslin was reminding me of Susan Smith! She would talk on camara to beg for Haleigh’s return, but never made eye contact! Then, on to the bio-mom…who was on TV once that I know of begging for her daughters return, wiping her eyes incessently with a kleenex, but low & behold, no tears whatsoever!! Ronald, who likes to bed young girls, does at least show emotions. And appears to truly miss his daughter…although, seems as though he doesn’t treat his “women” with much respect! So, I just really don’t know about this family! Maybe the little boy that’s still there needs some help, could he be in some kind of danger, also?

I did not watch this video nor am I ever going to. There is more than one involved in this crime, someone is not coming forward. If Haleigh had been killed in that home Police would have found evidence of that. It does not make sense for Misty not to come forward if she had left. In fact it would be easier going that route. If she left and someone came in and took the child that would not make her responsible for kidnapping or murder, a charge of child neglect as a 17year old sitter yes, which maybe would yield some probation. If she had passed out and woke up earlier to find her gone why not call the cops then or admit to that? She is still innocent of doing wrong in terms of kidnapping and or murder. Define passed out; let’s assume she passed out at 10ish instead of falling asleep as widely speculated. What does the really mean? Either or way she is not responsible for kidnapping or murder so why hold back? How does one gauge falling asleep apposed to passing out or is this lean towards blacking out? Still with that she would not be responsible for kidnapping or murder hopefully not the latter. The last person there was around 8ish, so the only other probability is that Misty took Haleigh far enough away on foot killed her buried her well enough to not be found made it back on foot cleaned her self and got rid of all evidence that lead to the crime all the while Jr was left alone sleeping and Police can’t find a single shred of evidence to support this. Then there is the theory she sold the child or traded the child for drugs, it is said she prefers Pot. She is going to trade or sell the flat screen and or the Play station, or movies and other articles for Pot, not a child. There are only two logical possibilities, she knows who took the child and is with holding that information, then why? If she was going to involve herself in a crime like that it is going to be with someone she is bonded with, a stranger would tell to quick. The last possibility is that she is telling the truth.

Haleigh was put in danger living in that home. Drugs, guns, fights, to top it off there were sex offenders visiting there…and Misty’s…alleged weekend sex,drug party binge……Yet..(Ronald) let her be in charge of his children. He should be (charged) with child endangerment.

I have always thought the interview that Misty and Ronald did on the Today Show was completely strange. When Misty was asked why she had told different stories about where the kids were sleeping, she looked right at Ronald, (seemingly for his help) he never looked at her, in fact, he was looking down and refused to look at her. Then she answered “I don’t know.” That just tells me Ronald knows something that he is not admitting to.

I agree with No. 21, CB; I agree with Post No. 12; I agree with almost every Post that says Misty and/or Ronald know what is going on.
I sincerely hope and pray that this little girl is unharmed and alive — AND when she is finally found alive (if so) that she is returned to some good family that wants her.
I hope that Misty and Ronald are punished for their behavior.
Sex, drugs, party binges do not belong with small children. They need to be loved.
Children are a gift. These people do not deserve to have these precious gifts.
Get Misty and Ronald in custody. They are evil people.

“Children are a gift…sex, drugs, party binges, etc…are exactly what misguided children do…they needed ‘to be’ or ‘to learn’ another ‘reason’ or ‘self esteem’…or perhaps more simply ‘are just’ in searching for love…
They are not evil, but what ‘they’ can do surely ‘can be.’

Funny thing is how ironic this all is considering I came here in the first place looking to defend someone I saw being nailed to ‘The Cross’ on television, no less.
