Michael Jackson Flashback: Ghosts? Maybe

When I was covering the Michael Jackson molestation trial, spending time in friendly Santa, Maria, California, there were several detectives who shared bizarre tales they’d heard while investigating the King of Pop: an accused pedophile with a home fit for the Pied Piper and his merry kids: carnival rides, a roller coaster, giraffes, and inside, a movie theater, a kitchen and cook to whip up kid-friendly snacks, the movie room often set up for popcorn slumber parties–and the “haunted dining room lined with eerie dolls.
Now on the eve of his funeral and memorial service, I’m flashing back to Elvis’s funeral I covered in Memphis in 1977, another cultural icon who died young from drugs, tromping through the woods to get a glimpse of the funeral party at the cemetery, and all the tabloid tales since about Elvis beyond the grave…Our rock and roll idols must live on, many want to believe, as they search for a sign, any sign, a shadow, a shimmer…a poltergeist…a ghost.
Ghosts at Neverland? I was once told Michael believed his dining room was haunted…a room where he kept wall to wall dolls with piercing eyes, not as weird as Chucky, but dolls that some said gave off a vibe.
It all came rushing back as I watched the CNN video tour artfully done by correspondent Ted Rowlands…He didn’t notice, but afterwards, others did, reporting a shadowy — even spooky — fog in the hall that some said looked like Michael Jackson’s ghost … On Tape! If so, it’s not the only ghost that might be hanging around Neverland near his haunted dining room, and his haunted dolls. Great story.
At least it’s comforting for Michael Jackson fans on the eve of his last extravangana, that the King of Pop won’t be lonely, goes the lore.

The more I learn about Michael Jackson’s life the more I realize how tormented he was. I watched Michael in one of his interviews and he was talking about how his Father beat him when he was younger. One of his Sisters also had a similar relevation many years ago. If you go back and watch Michael Jackson perform as a child he seemed so happy and so full of life, but was he? Or was he just a Child who was seeking his Father’s approval?
Later in his adult life his talent and success was mind blowing. A few of my personal favorite songs of his were PYT and Thriller. He was just awesome. Michael Jackson amazed millions of people and was admired nations wide but he still seemed unsatisfied and unresolved with himself.
Some say that Michael was Child like even as an adult. Where was his Father when things started changing for Michael and even more where was he when things began spiraling out of control? What about his Mother?
He seemed to loce and adore both Diana Ross and Liz Taylor, did they replace his Mother?
Was he as ashamed of his life in ways just as he was ashamed at his own appearance? He replaced his looks, he surrounded himself with those things he most liked and wanted as a child. He had become so successful that he had the money to do these things.
With money comes power. Michael was aquitted of charges of sexual abuse against Children but what about the out of court settlement prior to that? Why would he agree to pay such a huge amount of money to someone who was falsely accusing him? In looking back it almost seems fantasy like, much like the rest of Michael’s adult life did.
What happened to Michael?

Great Job Art.
Its not the same-O, same-O, every channel on TV is repeating about him. This puts a different twist on things and Jackson definitely liked to shake things up a bit. As always you are refreshingly different in your style and approach to reporting The Bald Truth.
Take care. Don’t get knocked down and suffocated in the crush of fans at the funeral.

I saw the video last night! Wow, it really did look like the shadow of Michael moving across the wall and then disappearing. Larry King played the clip on his show.
Was there another newscaster or other setup in the dining room? Larry said that it was possibly another crew in there setting up and that the shadow was someone in there setting up. But it was weird because as the shadow moves left to right, shouldn’t a person show up before it disappears?? Yet you never see the person emerge from the shadow.

I pray that Michael Jackson can now rest in peace. Micheal always seemed to have so much controversey in his life. I pray now that he will finally be at peace. I will keep his children and family in my thoughts and prayers.

If in fact, MJ made his peace with the Lord my God, he is entertaining Haleigh and all the other children……….How sad it is to realize Haleigh is gone to heaven, but that is all I can think and feel at this time…….How can her parents and that disgusting person Misty, go forth like she nevert exsisted…..My oh My,,,,,,what a world we live in………….Please, I pray her body will be found, and bring justice for this precious little girl….Does anyone down in Florida know what these lowlifes have been doing with their time and money…..Obviously, they are not using either to help find their child.

I think MJ was a ghost long before his death. His eyes always seemed without spirit and looked lifeless from the 90′s onward.
Art, maybe you can give some insight into this: I’ve heard some talking heads talk about how he never officially adopted the 3 children he has been raising, and while his name is on their birth certificate, given that they are not biologically his, it could open up huge court battles. I can’t help but think that since MJ cut a majority of his family out of his will, that the family will try to contest parts of the will in the future and attempt to block those kids from getting anything of MJ’s estate on the grounds of being non-bio and never formally adopted. While the family has come together over MJ’s death, it’s no secret that greed has been a fighting point in that family. I worry for those children. Everything from who is taking care of them, to their financial care: their lives are going through such a large upheaval that it surely has to be scary for them.

I do believe in ghosts, I do think it was him, he was not settled in life,and he is not settled until he finds his chidlren will be raised,not around his dad, and I also, heard that he had been molested by his dad. He will need devine intervention to cross over to the other side.

And on a final note…maybe Jackson’s ‘lost body’ is in some mass grave, just south of Chicago….

I do care about Haleigh. I say a prayer almost everyday that she will be found.
She needs to be returned Safe, I hope, to Ron and Misty. My opinion as long as Crystal is making money this will not happen.
I do believe in ghosts however I like to refer to them as spirits.
