Misty Croslin, 17, tells reporters how father of Haleigh Cummings, 5, proposed marriage at Chili’s while they mourned missing girl. She told police she was asleep in the same room with Ronald Cummings’ son, Junior, 4, and Haleigh, on Feb. 10 and never heard the would-be kidnapper enter the trailer in Palatka, Florida, where the little girl vanished from the home without a trace.

A precious little girl is missing and Daddy can’t wait to marry his giggling 17 year old girlfriend? Daddy needs to keep his hormones in check long enough to put his love life on hold and concentrate solely on finding his daughter. As a parent and grandparent, I can not imagine the horror of being in that situation but a wedding would certainly be the last thing on my mind. I couldn’t eat, sleep or think straight.
Why is Haleigh being talked about in past tense in this interview? This marriage is what Haleigh would have wanted?
She’s a baby, just like the new step-mom! Let’s see where this marriage is in 5 years.
This whole situation is twisted. I don’t know who sounded more ignorant. The interviewer, the little girl being interviewed or the mother speaking over her daughter.
I pray Haleigh is found safe and sound. I’m more frightened for her now than before this interview.

I just do not believe this young girl’s stories!!! I find it totally crazy that Ronald Cummings would marry her while his baby is missing!!!! If Haleigh really wanted them to marry, they would not do it WITH OUT HALEIGH there, or knowing if she is dead or alive. They are complete moron’s and, I really hope the truth comes out, and that this baby is found safe and alive!!!!!!

I dont understand why ronald Cummins married Misty. He looks like he dont even like her! misty is just a 17yr old grown to fast to relize what shes into. she’ll grow up in a few years plus if Haleighs abductor is never found Ron’s cloud of suspicion will fall on Misty.I’m so sorry for all of them. I pray we see the abducters face when he gets the needle, no matter what you think your not smarter then the forensic teams working on this case. they will find you.

I agree with Theresa on March 18th. If Haleigh would want them to marry then they should have waited for her to be found. I pray to the Dear Lord about to stop this horrific events of children being abducted and killed. I pray every day for Haleigh and Caylee (also the teens that are missing). I have a five year old granddaughter by the name of Hailey. So this incident affects me a whole lot. To Haleigh’s family I am praying for her safe return. Crystal keep a close eye on Junior but put your custody case on the back burner for now until Haleigh is found. Concentrate on finding her. We are praying to God for her safe return. Unless of course either Ronald or Misty (or both) are found guilty, and they didn’t divorce before the trial. It’s the only way the marriage will last any amount of time at all

That’s another part that bothers me, Ronald, Misty, and Ronald’s mother all talk about Haleigh in past tense !
Something is certainly not right with that !
And another thing, Tattoo, he was glad to have it make the news, then this insane wedding, he got the ring from his is Gramma, he couldn’t even afford to get “nice clothes” for his wedding, yet, he is going to get them a new house to live in(because he just can’t bring himself to live in that trailer without Haleigh there) in today’s economy, how’s he planning on paying for new home? He won’t get much for that junked out trailer he has. He can’t live in that trailer without Haleigh there, because he KNOWS what happened to Haleigh there !

I don’t think Ronald hurt his daughter but I do find it very suspicious that he would get married while she is missing. Like Diana said…if my son was missing…I would not be able to eat, sleep, or even think straight. The last thing on my mind would be getting married and I wouldn’t want to without my missing child being there to enjoy the moment with me.

My heart goes out to the family. I have a 12 year old daughter with Turner Syndrome. I know what these little girls go through with medical issues. I can’t believe that marriage would even be on the father’s mind. Finding my baby would be the only thing I would care about. Our prayers are with Haleigh.

i believe they were very inconsiderate. getmarried when u should be focusing on your poor innocent child i pray that she is found safe and sound and not another caylee god bless her to incident. i honestly think they got married cause the girlfriend sorry wife knows what happened that night and they know if they are married they wont be forced to testify against each other if it comes down to that. i pray that they find out the truth on her whereabouts and believe me they will.

This is very sad about this little girl. I think maybe it was a drug deal that went bad that night and that Misty may have not had the Money or something and a drug dealer came in a took her as punishment or something. This little girl could be south of the Border or something. Boy! does Florida get the Strangest things happen down there. lets hope she is found.

Ronald didn’t find it necessary to marry the Mother of his two children, who was 14 when they met, yet, he marries a teen he has only known 6 or 7 months…Smells fishy..I hope he knows Misty CAN testify against him…Seems Ronald is trying to find all kinds of loopholes to get him off.. With the right investigator, Misty will break..There’s many many ways to ask a question, and finding an experienced person to ask that one question would help solve this case…She is being rehearsed on what to say, but the truth will come out..Ronald’s answer of “I don’t know I was at work” should be followed up with “What time did you leave for work” and “Do you punch a time clock” There is no drilling of Ronald..It’s like the people questioning him are afraid to say the wrong thing, for fear of hurting his feelings…BS..It’s time to get to the bottom of this crime.

They didn’t look like “love birds” to me! After getting their marriage license, the bride groom stalks off to his truck and his child bride runs to catch up with him! He looks like a control freak to me. Not very warm and fuzzy. Her life is a mess allready, but thats because of a lack of education. The entire situation is terrible. What kind of life will the little boy have,including the sweet baby girl should she ever return???? In fact, the entire bunch of them are totally disfunctional at best.

What made me realize this wedding is a scam:
– they married in a weeded out backyard
– didn’t even look at each other when they said their vows
– I don’t even think they held hands, and he sure as heck
didn’t look at her
– Didn’t ya love the wife beater black tank he had on after
the nuptuals
At the very least, Tom Arnold should cover this in “redneck weddings”.

Oh – and I don’t believe for a MINUTE re: the interview where MC says ” he wasn’t talking to me, he was talking to the police” when he said “how’d you let my f’n daughter get stole you b*tch.

i agree with greg, i am convinced this is all drug related, and i think this custody crap is a smoke screen to put the focus on ronald.god bless this beautiful child. may she come home safe and unharmed. this was to clean to be unplanned. no dna, prints, clues etc. if there were drugs , money owed. everyone needs to come clean and start dropping names for the sake of this child.

Ronald believes the focus should remain on finding his daughter. Had he stood by that belief, he wouldn’t have gotten married. Marriage should have been the farthest thing from his mind. The crime allegedly took place in the home and not ONE lead? Not even fingerprints. The person was dumb enough to snatch a child in her sleep 4 feet away from her caregiver and not leave any evidence. If someone told me Haleigh was taken by aliens, I’d believe it more than Misty’s story!

I wouldn’t shock me if we hear Misty is pregnant. That’s the only explanation I would come with as to why a marriage so soon after Haleigh goes missing. If not, then Ronald is a selfish man. Ronald seems to have a history of dating very young girls, shouldn’t he be in jail?

I am wondering if he married Misty because she is pregnant? Just by looking at these pictures of Haleigh, I don’t think she was abused. She was always smiling always looking happy. I don’t buy that the father put that bruise on her face. I think the mom of haleigh needs not to do this now. Lets find this little girl. Who cares that they got married, no one knows what they are going through. Can you imagine your son/daughter missing? I can’t say what I would be doing or how I would handle it.

Just an FYI the state of FL does not accept marriage as an excuse not to testify where a child is concerned. Husbands, wives, sisters, brothers all the same in the eyes of the law. If charges are brought against Misty or Ron the other will have to testify.

this is so sad what a sad excuse for a father. i was horribly abused as a child as were my brothers and sister.i hope and pray haleigh is alive and safe. as for ronald he keeps saying over and over that whoever has haliegh can have everything he has. what do you have ron? i did hear you tell nancy grace who seems to be your biggest fan that you had a queen size bed. did you mean the mattres on the floor? get over yourself and think about your child and quit hitting junior with a stick. looks like the way you turned out someone should have used one on you.

Grandma’s back yard is a great backup for a drive thru chapel. “I do’s” are replaced with, “Git ‘er done”.
Now, a receipt (certificate) qualifies for change of status! This allows a paperwork change with DCF on Ronald’s behalf. We no longer have a single parent person with 3 minors. We now have 2 parent people with 2 minors. Looks better on paper for custody.
Impressive! All this for less than it costs to gas up the shiny truck. BTW Misty, that was not Prom night.

L have been watching this story from day one; Reading both Misty & Ron’s body language, there is something not right… Misty always has a ciggarete dangling from her mouth and so does Ron….They both act like [Casey A.].Misty reminds me of a 12 year old girl. I have seen stories; where children were hurt,because of drugs. A drug deal gone bad or money owed.I also pray that this little girl is found alive. Ron should be more concerned about finding this gorgous little girl than getting married to a child. Where is his mind or morals ??????????? This is a very dysfunctional family.The truth will prevail….. It will not be long and the culprit or culprits will be found out !!!!!!!!!!

If you go back and listen to Ron’s call that night it sounds to me like he is reading it off a paper. His voice is all the same level. If you were really upset it would go up and down. I wish Art would go back and check when he went to work and if she was in school that day. I think I heard somewhere he said he picked her up from the bus. I think they are both up to something and that is why they got married.

I’m with the rest of you, how these two who professed” to only want Haleigh backandonly got married because that is what she would have wanted is just a crock. If that were true they would have wanted her IN the wedding and would have waited. And as for mom Teresa Neves saying that Misty is the best and at the top of the list of Ronalds girlfriends give me a break. She’s an admitted drug user and we all know of Ronalds arrest record what more does the LE need before they let little Jr. go home to CS. Having a seizure does not a bad mother make, she can get rides and with the stress she’s under I might have one too. Who knows what was going on in the mind of Ron when he decided to pop the question to Misty? Whatever his reason was I don’t think it was because he loves her and has intentions of spending the rest of his life with her. Ron doesn’t seem to have the mind of a responsible and moral 25-year-old man. If he did he would have kept his zipper up long ago and sought out girlfriends in his own age bracket or at least of legal age. I don’t think that Ron understands what real love is all about in a relationship and it “shows”. Putting aside the issue of his daughter missing and bad timing, statistically the marriage won’t last anyway. In my opinion Ron may have popped the question to either make his past relationships envious and jealous that they couldn’t snatch him prior or to show the media that he is standing by Misty’s story about Haleigh. Whatever the case both Haleigh’s grandma and Misty did not say that Ron is doing this because he “loves Misty and wants to spend the rest of his life with her”. Both Misty and grandma are saying that the children want them married as if at that age they know what marriage is. Little Jr. can’t even describe the night in question clearly so how can he possibly describe a marriage? Misty’s response to her engagement was that of juvenile blowing out her birthday candles and getting her wish. Through her emotional excitement and proudly displaying her ring of commitment to the media she was quick to let everyone know that Haleigh would have wanted this. Yes, we heard that right, Haleigh in the past tense. JMO

Why do they not arrest this little child bride and where is Nancy G in this story she has spent months trying casey Anthony out of a court of law.I think if they arrest her she will dope I have seen many coming off drugs lock her up and she will tell truth to get out of jail to get drugs.Yes if casey anthony was guilty enought to be arrested on child neglect so is ron and misty he left his kids in her care knowing she was on hard drugs.Give me a break people I believe they either sold or killed little haley either for a drug debt or to hide servere abuse.If mis Nancy G has so much confidense in Ron misty and granny cummings why don’t she hire them to baby set her twins.I think it is time for an out cry all over the u.s for these child murders or sellers be aressested and little Jr away from all these dopey liers immediately.And about the cinder block get real that was put there by Misty so she could get back inside the trailor don’t take a genious to figure that out. I’m totally shocked that the dad would have married the girl that was taking care of his daughter, and in her care the girl disappears. I understand that she was out on the town with another man the night all this took place, I find it alittle odd that the little girl is missing due to the fact the babysitter wasn’t even home like she claims. Maybe the police should be looking at the babysitter, after all 5 year olds can talk and tell daddy’s alot of things that aren’t to be talked about, know what I mean???????????????????????? I just pray she’s alive and well and will soon be with her dad and real mom soon. God loves even bad babysitters!!!!!!!!!!

This is really getting to me. God you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see the truth. Some body please go & arrest Ron & Misty. Nancy Grace you are about to loose one of your fans. Enough already about Casey the courts are taking care of that one. You need to get on with helping little Haliegh. This is just one oponion, but you should be helping her mother,NOT THE ONES RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS.

What is going on with this child. You never hear anything about her anymore. Nancy Grace is so fixed on the Anthony’s that she will not report on anything else. I was suprised that she did a small report on Sandra. I would love to know what the status of Haleigh is. Are they still searching for her? Do they have any new leads? What’s the story here? Anyone know??????

I’M glad to see nancy grace has brought this back to the light, but am really annoyed she is still taking up for ron.
yes he played a pretty good role crying over his baby gone missing. ha ha not ever was there a tear. that jerk knows what happened to little Haleigh.he’s in it up to his hind end. what a jerk. i’m not so sure he’s not the reason misty’s not talking. you can do a lot with fear, and drugs.i’m not taking up for misty either she should rat the whole bunch out.i have a feeling that law inforcement is going to schock a whole bunch of people. go get em boys.
