Sarah Palin Campaign Diary: We’re Back!
Wishful Thinking: 3 days before the election, Palin Sees Victory

She packed a wallop whereever she went, firing up crowds, even as she turned others off, and we were along for the amazing ride to report on the rise and fall (and likely rise again) of Sarah Palin, and will be bringing you some tales from the trail and video we shot.
As we saw last week, even as a loser, Palin remained a superstar at the Republican Governor’s convention, a media bashee turned media darling, as the press stood in line for interviews after drawing a bead on her during the campaign.
In fact, when she took the stage in Miami. five powerful white male governors put hands in pockets and looked uncomfortably around. No one had any questions for them, only Palin. Then, in an act of kindness, Texas Gov. Rick Perry declared the press conference over after 11 minutes, ending their misery.
It was like this wherever she went, as crowds gathered and pressed forward to touch her, nab an autograph, a photo op…Among the conservative right, she was a rock star, and as we flew the skies and hit the road with the Palin press corps, we got to watch a political phenom who, despite tight handling by McCain staffers, left a mark.
So much to talk about, we welcome your take on the history-making race. Beyond the election of Barack Obama as the first African American U.S. President, television history was made as well–as we saw how TV comedy helped slay contenders like Palin.
On this smattering of assorted clips, we’re flying to Fairbanks, then Anchorage to follow her early on, as she returns to Alaska for the first time after her nomination as McCain’s VP nominee.
We made it to the front of the rope line as she signed autographs and chatted up old friends at the Anchorage convention center, then got to meet her parents, Chuck and Sally Heath, her brother and sister, and best friends around Wasilla.
Her Dad, a retired high school teacher and coach, told us her adversaries make a mistake in underestimating her. Whether she’ll make the 2012 Presidential race as party leader is anyone’s guess, but it would be wise to remember a father often knows best.

But even if I thought I didn’t need to say more because of ‘ALVIN,’ LOL….
We really don’t want a ‘girl’ to be our president, unless she wears the pants.

In concluding the Sarah Palin story Mr Harris, do you agree with the opinion below?

Can’t wait for ‘the tales’…but, guess I’ll have to.
She’s a regular ‘American Idol,’ just an everyday mom, LOL.
Could it be that this woman and mother of many, also really works?
Seems to good to be true.
And what about the heart ache she buries in her career?
She’s pretty and strong, and gets no respect.
Reminds me of good guys finishing last.
Sure hope she had her tubes tied, or something, though.
Seems some women don’t know when to quit…
Of course I just can’t shut up.
Reminds me of a song.

“She packs a wollup”…but so did OBama…
I’ve never felt so ‘invited’ or ‘welcomed’ lately by so many so-called African-American, or Black Folks, lately…
I’ll tell you what I see and feel the happiness or pride or something.
It’s like that cup is runneth over (should’ve use caps or special punctuation).
It’s like MLK’s dream has finally come true.
Better than that ‘stuff’ some intellectual taughts about our inevitable self-destruction.
Don’t you think?
Do you have children?
What do you want?

…in reference to sarafina’s really long and depressing ‘man made’ word-tooled comment on another thread…
He don’t know, ‘history repeats itself’ is just something else that some creative mind invented to say.
We don’t know…that’s a fact!!!
December 4th, 2008 at 1:04 am
(By the way, Art, are you know mentoring FOX and FRIENDS?)
Gosh, I can only imagine all that leg work…literally!!!!
December 4th, 2008 at 1:07 am
I had a ‘high-risk’ pregnancy.
Guess I was lucky, or maybe there’s really no such thang.
December 4th, 2008 at 1:11 am
Tempting fate or is it ‘Tempting Faith?’
Seems ‘someone’ out there is, or is trying to, disuade us from having children after age 35…
It’s almost as if, ‘THEY’ are telling us you don’t have a choice.
Like either you choose a career, or rather…really you were just meant to be a MOM…and you don’t get to choose.

Of course, “meanwhile back in the jungle”…
Sure does take a lot of ‘Life Left’ to give back enough….at the very least to know yur years are not limitless, and that if yu have a kid, you need to be ‘ABLE’ to take care of them at least ’til they are able to spread their wings and fly on their own…maybe when they are in their early twenties…not their teens.
Yet, some are more able and robust..
But, it’s really not worth the risk just because ‘YOU’ want a kid…or because ‘YOU WANT’…period.
Hope Nancy Grace has a whole lotta help with her twins, hope the money doesn’t run out.
Sure seems Greta is on a roll on FOX.
LOL
I mean absolutely nothing by this!!!
Wish this world wasn’t quite so crazy…but if it wasn’t God Only Knows what it would be like, right?

Freida
Sorry that you had to read that long and depressing post LOL! I am glad you did, it is packed with truth. We know, that is a fact.
December 11th, 2008 at 7:42 am
sarafini,
Sorry, but it sounds more like a self-fulfilling prophecy to me. Kinda like ‘a revelation,’ or ‘an old testament’ than scientific proof/or fact.
I have a kid and really do need to be more optimistic. And just look around you…
This world is a better place, don’t you think?
There’s always going to be some hardships and bad things happening to good people and visa versa.
It’s just like what my brother told me, “Life’s not supposed to be easy.”
Kids are starving to death all over the world because their parents had unprotected sex and no means to support them.
Knowledge is key…and moderation, I guess…even though the later is not exactly my forte, LOL.
Gosh, I feel so bright today…guess it’s all this gloom and doom…called rain and winter.
It’s been rather soupy in my neck of the woods…I’d rather be sailing. (Does anyone get this?)

Here you go sarafina…
If you really think about, might be better not to…

Better than ‘lights’ in a tube, in a box…
http://www.zagerguitar.com/
‘strings’ in a box without ‘the tube’…just you and what you make it do…or ‘sound like.’
Now animation is great, takes a whole lotta’ inspiration to believe something you do, rather than synthesis…
And, that rather reminds me RAP…AND A WHOLE LOT OF HI-FULLUTIN (SP?) crap.

Where is ‘that bracket’ on this keyboard…there ’tis…
["and likely to be back"]
Nothin’ better than HOPE.
Hey, a personal trainer, and an ‘older woman’s voice,’ and maybe get those kids more grown up…
She must’ve been really tired by the time KC and CG gotta’ hold of her…
I believe she’s a real, live “MOM”…and would make a fine ‘President’ some day.
Just like ‘Dubya,’ (not real good writing slang, but fun tryin).
Yet, I think I’d rather she didn’t. I would however like to see her husband give a go.
January 12th, 2009 at 10:32 pm
I would like to see her husband give ‘it’ a go.

Got to thinkin’ ’bout dead babies and pups…so looked for a tangent.
“a media bashee turned media darling”
Did you mean ‘banshee (sp?)’
I’m gonna look that up.
February 16th, 2010 at 7:18 am
See what I dug up…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banshee
I’m almost done with the year-end book work. I try to keep up but someone else is always racing and he can’t even read his own real handwriting.
He didn’t cry when I told him ‘the news’ like I expected him to. He did last year when ‘that pup’ had a sprain.
Out of sight, out of mind.
June 5th, 2010 at 6:01 pm
Although, just reminds me of ‘Sonny & Cher.’
Hey, but he knows the snow…
And that reminds me of a dweeb….
If only we got all cuddly and close and knew the score…and all that Mother Nature has in store that ‘man’ makes into smoke and bullets, I guess.
If you kill, or buy something…eat it all.

We pay more for boxes and plastic than for food, you know!!!
