We were delighted to hear reports that Hulk Hogan’s son, 17-year-old Nick Bollea, was keeping his spirits up with a little Oprah-style inspirational lit (the Bible, joke books, etc.), while serving eight months in a Florida county jail after pleading no contest to reckless driving — crashing a car that killed a U.S. Marine pal home from Iraq.
Now we learn he’s got more uplifting words to cheer him on — fan mail from another infamous inmate behind bars just down the street: vixen-teacher Stephanie Ragusa, accused of seducing three of her teenage students in Hillsborough County, Florida. We’ve got a link to her letter on the next page.

One Big Happy Hulk Hogan Family
“It’s not us, Nick, but something ‘off’ with society, that our situations garner more attention + print than the President, the election, or even an earthquake killing thousands,” Ragusa wrote in a letter dispatched to Hogan in the nearby Pinellas County hoosegow. “Nothing prepares you for nor prevents it; sensationalism.”
Ah, yes, the “S” word that makes our celebrity-infested world go ’round.
In the letter (nick-hogan-ragusa-fan-letter-060608), intercepted by deputies last week, according to Tampa Bay Online, Ragusa wrote that Nick remains in her prayers.
“You have more people support(ing) + pulling for you than you will ever know. I believe the character of an individual is measured over the long haul. And I have no doubt that you will rise above your current surroundings having experienced a personal inner growth known only to yourself in these many hours of isolation.”
We like to think teachers are pros at motivating their students, and Ragusa, 29, was allegedly pretty good at it, according to authorities. Charged March 13 with having sex with a 14-year-old boy, she was popped again a month later after investigators discovered another victim, now 16. Then, two weeks after that second arrest, police say Ragusa hopped in her boyfriend’s truck to drive over to the boy’s house, for another encounter with the same student, who was a year younger than Hulk Hogan’s son.
Bollea, 17, pleaded no contest last month to a charge of reckless driving that caused serious injury –and drew eight months in jail. It was Aug. 26, 2007 when he crashed into a tree in Clearwater, Florida, leaving his passenger, Iraq war veteran John Graziano, with brain damage. He’s now kept alive on a ventilator.
In dashing off a letter to Nick, who had no relation to her own case, Ragusa broke no laws, say officials. We don’t know if Nick has written back, but we can report he was moved from solitary to a cell with more amenities, access to a television and three teenage roommates.
Here’s what Ragusa said in her letter:
Nick,
We don’t know each other, but we are both in similar situations with the media + a high degree of public scrutiny. If you are anything like me, I’m sure you receive tons of “fan mail” each day from total strangers who say pretty much anything you can think of. I just want you to know that you are not alone. And for what it is worth, I can sympathize with the dynamics of your case, esp. in light of the public. It’s not us, Nick, but something “off” with society, that our situations garner more attention + print than the President, the election, or even an earthquake killing thousands. Nothing prepares you for nor prevents it; sensationalism. I have only been here 1 month in administrative confinement, due entirely to my case’s “high profile status.” I’ve honestly, not been following your case, except in hearing that our names are mentioned frequently on the news. Keep your head up and never lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel. You have more people support + pulling for you than you will ever know. I believe the character of an individual is measured over the long haul. And I have no doubt that you will rise above your current surroundings having experienced a personal inner growth known only to yourself in those many hours of isolation. You remain in my prayers,
Stephanie Ragusa

Ok thats just wrong isn’t there a rule or law that forbids, incarcerated people from connecting to each other? I am disturbed by her email and more disturbed that you Art printed it giving this disgusting person more attention than she deserves she is a pediphile that prayed on young boys. These boys will never be the same again and probably will have women issues till their dying day.
Being a prize journalist means responsibility an this is not a great measure of moral compass. In other words you can do better than this, must be a very slow news day… arrggh when is more news coming about Anna Nicole Smith I miss it…

Yes, something is “off” in certain members of society who prey on children. Ms. Ragusa should know at her age that a lifetime of good character will be erased with “screw ups” such as this. Please… don’t tell me that she is a sex education teacher. I have no sympathy for her.
I’m still reading Art, even though I don’t post often.
Good Luck

Just a quick correction …. John Graziano, the young man in Nick’s car, is not dead. He is in a vegetative state.

I do not feel sorry that Nick got 8months in jail. It will cost him and his parents millions after the civil case but!
A girl Nick’s age killed 3 people in CA while street racing and got 3 yrs. She was screaming as they took her away. Movies and our culture show cool, beautiful people street racing with no problems. Remember a few yrs ago a movie came out with football players laying on the double yellow lines for fun. No one got hurt until some kids tried it for real. Has anyone watch MY SWEET 16 on MTV? Spoiled rich kids get fast cars for their 16 birthday. Our kids are looking at this. One kid was mad a my kid and got infront of him and slammed on the breaks! My kid hit his car. When the police came the only thing that saved my kid was the stupid idiot admitted to slamming on his breaks to make my kid hit him.
My kid just got 60 stiches in his face for a stupid stunt. All I said was “no permant injury, no one else got hurt so I can’t get suied it’s a good life lesson!”
Kids want to be treated like adults but their brains are not fully developed. They don’t think about the cause and effects of their actions. (few adults do)

Some gossip sites are treating the Hogans like serial killers. Yes, his parents are trying to protect Nick and their careers but this was an accident caused by street racing and not wearing safety belts. One of the things I don’t get is why a max security prison for adults? He’s a 1st time non-violent offender. So many kids are getting killed driving to fast. To save money they got rid of diver’s safety at our shcools. And so many kids have cars now days. One woman lost her only child when her friends went out to eat and the roads got iced. So many kids have died in our county this year. This is becoming an epidemic that can be avoided.
