I was only a teenager when the murders happened, and the trial took place, I remember it but I did not pay a lot of attention to it at the time. When the book "If I did it" was released, I was intrigued and read it. Since then I have read almost every book on OJ that I could find. One thing keeps bothering me about the whole case. In the book "Evidence Missing" which was written by the two lean investigators of the case, it was noted that Nicole was barefoot when her body was found and that her feet were extremely clean, leading to the obvious conclusion that she was disabled and murdered the moment she walked out of her door. Now as abusive as everyone believes that OJ was, both physically and verbally, I truly believe that if he had gone to her home that night, he would have had it out with her first....yealling and fighting with her, not cutting her throat the moment she emerged from the door. They both attended their daughters recital that evening and no one testified to their being any bad vibes between the two of them. If it is true what he said in "If I Did It" if a friend had come to his house that evening and told him about yet another escapade of sex and drugs that she had been involved in, he would have gone over there and screamed at her, maybe slapped her around, but with his history with her, I do not believe he went over there with the sole intent of killing her, thus, stabbing her as soon as she answered the door. That just doesn't make sense to me. I do believe that anyone is capable of murder, but you have to be driven to it (in your own mind anyhow) It just seems the most obvious scenario to me that he would have gone there, gotten into an altercation and then killed her!!!

I believe Gilbert for a couple reasons. Reason one, why did he not tell this story at the time? Because OJ was basically his boss, he made his living off OJ, and there were a TON of hangers on who protected him. Look at the guy who drove that bronco, and a dozen others who stood up for him/protected him at the time. Still today you have people saying OJ was not guilty of the murders!

Second, Gilbert has left himself open to prosecution with his book admissions, and why would anyone do that? I saw him on Dr Phil the other day, and he said he made around $100K off the book, not a fortune in a day where the average house costs a quarter to half million.

The bad thing about the Dr Phil show was the Goldmans IMO, especially Mr Goldman, I realize he is still hurting, who would NOT be hurting if one of our relatives was butchered in that way, especially by a celeb? But, he gave this Gilbert no credit or chance, and frankly, he should have been a tad more gracious that this guy is coming out with the story after all these years, every little bit helps IMO, and this guy gave another paragraph into the story we all know so well. He did not have to embrace him, or even be best friends with Gilbert, but he should have thanked him, after all, not all people react the same way to lifes events, where Goldman said he would never be friends with a murderer, there are plenty of people who will, indeed, look at all the people who still believe OJ is innocent. There are all sorts of values in this world, and some don't mind at all lowering themselves to believing in a murderer.

There was testimony at the trial and pictures of a large
knife on the counter in Nicole's kitchen. I'm sure the
police would have tested this large knife for blood.
Even the LAPD would not overlook testing it, when they
had two victims slashed to death.
You don't suppose this is where Gilbert got the idea
to say... if she only hadn't come to the door with a large
knife she would be alive today.
Nice try Gilbert...

Elle......... I read my comment and I agree - My statement made no sense. Put a period after well. Remove and. Type in - The public. There you have it - that is what I meant.

My mind is open to the possibility that he is guilty. My mind is also open to the possibility that he innocent. I have never been sure beyond a reasonable doubt the he commited those murders. If I had been on that jury I would have voted not guilty. I do not like Fred Goldman, I do not like Mark Furhman, I have no respect for anyone involved in the case against O.J. I like O.J. I formed my opinion of everyone before, during and after the trial. The reason I think O.J. might be innocent is based on shoddy police work, tainted evidence and a rush to judgement by people (involved in the investigation) who were insanely jealous of O.J. long before the murders. As I have said before - it's complicated. JMHO!

#58...Huh?

Whoever is guilty of those murders (uh-huh)

took much of OJ's life away that day as well (right)

and totally closed their minds (closed their minds?)

to the fact that he could very well be innocent. (What?)

So the people who killed Nicole and Ron totally closed their minds to the fact that OJ could be innocent? Wouldn't the people who killed Ron and Nicole (if it wasn't OJ) know that OJ is innocent? Why would they have to close their minds to the fact that he could very well be innocent if they (the killers) knew he was innocent?

What are you trying to say? Do you mean that the the people who killed Nicole and Ron took OJ's life away that day and managed to convince the world that OJ did it, therefore closing the minds of the general public to the possibility that he could be innocent?

He could also be guilty, you know. It seems like someone closed your mind to the possibility that he did it. That's just as bad as being closed minded about the possibility that he's innocent.

Mary,

That remark to Anne, really wasn't called for. Although I don't agree with her on this one, she is a very nice lady and certainly isn't egotistical at all. She has always been very nice to everyone in all her posts.
