The Bald Truth: The Governor & The Prostitute?
Gov. Elliot Spitzer’s I Have Sinned Presser March 10

My name is Elliot (but you can call me ”John” ) Spitzer learned all about prostitutes as New York Attorney General in 2004, when the prosecutor braved the bullets of sin to bust a multi-million dollar operation of high priced escorts he called “nothing more than a prostitution ring, and now its owners and operators will be held accountable.”
Why am I thinking, “I bet he wishes he’d never said that.”
Now, the ex-AG turned New York Governor joins a long line of politicians, public figures and moral crusaders (against corporate corruption, in his case) who rode a squeeky clean image to power and fame, then crashed in a flameout of hypocrisy.
While not charged with any crime, a law enforcement official told The New York Times Spitzer was “Client #9″ described in a 55 page federal arrest warrant obtained by The Bald Truth (see next page) that describes an alleged escapade with a prostitute named “Kirsten” who took a train from New York to meet the New York governor at a Washington, D.C. hotel. Those accused in the escort ring unwittingly revealed details on a federal wiretap.
According to the court documents spitzer-idd-in-sealed-arrest-warrants.pdf, the Wall Street Anti-Corruption crusader nicknamed “Mr. Clean” paid more than $4,000 for a York prostitute, some of it credit for future romps, to join him at the D.C. hotel booked under the name of a campaign contributor who had no comment — and no idea — he’d been used as a beard for the governor to book the alleged tryst.
If true, experts say Spitzer could be facing a possible charge of violating the Mann Act, an anti-mob law passed to make it tougher for the Mafia to engage in prostitution by turning the transport of women across state lines into a federal crime.
At a press conference Monday, a contrite Guv conceded he’d committed an unspecified sin–much like Rev. Jimmy Swaggart did 20 years ago, but without the tears or lurid details. He apologized to his family and his state; his wife did not look happy, but did not cry. After his apology, he refused to take questions from the press, then split.
Unlike Rev. Jimmy Swaggart, caught two decades ago for dallying with a prostitute in New Orleans before the teary, “I Have Sinned” sermon…or another famous Democrat, Bill Clinton, who swore under oath, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman,” the jury is still out on Spitzer.

I FEEL HE SHOULD HAVE RESIGNED IMMEDIATELY.WHY, is it when someone gets caught,OUT COMES THE I,M SORRY.SORRY DOES NOT CUT IT.I feel sorry for his kids and wife, they have to live with the fallout. He was also very stupid.knowing how many people he went after, did he think one of those people would try to find something on him.i cannot believe how many men have been brought down, there careers ruined, all over SEX.BOY,AM I DIFFERENT,KNOWING HE WAS SPENDING MONEY HIS FAMILY COULD USE,FOR A HOOKER,HE WOULD NOT BE FORGIVEN BY ME.

That poor, dear, “Client #9″ can always find sympathy among his peers by proclaiming his wife was not into “dangerous” adventures.

Such a shame that so many of our members of government, and some of our preachers, are so outspoken and crusade against “wrongdoing” of others, while they are so guilty of the same sins.
But, for the life of me Art, I can’t understand the mention of only Swaggart and Clinton when so many others have been exposed . You can probably be certain if you are of the opinion that probably out of all of them….one in particular didn’t have to pay for the services of their partner, and most likely didn’t have to initiate the involvement. If you say…but the White House was involved…probably not the first time, probably won’t be the last.
I don’t condone this type of behavior, and I certainly have a disrespect for those who are caught in such a situation, and have their wife along beside them when they face the camera’s and the public. Humiliation should be theirs alone. IMO
The one question I have is…Who are the first eight??
Thanks for your article.

I have said before kudos to him for at least being honest in regards to his involvement ,unlike as you said other well know people who have lied about their involvement.

Wonder why he didn’t claim he was only doing research?
