The Bald Truth: Pellicano, Hollywood On Trial
From Bald Truth Staff:
What better window on Lalaland, its celebrity-infested back alleys and damage control lawyers than the wiretap and racketeering trial of the Prince of Pecadillos, one Anthony Pellicano, that special breed of investigator all rely on known as The Hollywood PI.
That’s why we were delighted to learn that another swashbuckling legend of Sunset Strip and fellow private eye, burly, tough-talking John Nazarian, had scored a press pass to court, and will be reporting the wails and travails of his old pal–and filing salty-tongued dispatches for our readers, as well as his own site, Desperate Exes.
He’s an ex-cop and prison guard whose sweet smell of success wafts from the leather interior of the Bentley he drives (he’s got a Rolls, too). Satisfied starlets smile down from his walls, and other ditched divorcees can be found thanking him online for helping them level the playing field…Sooooo, let’s welcome Big John….and let the games begin…first with his account of jury selection on the next page.
By John Nazarian, Desperate Exes
I will be covering the Anthony Pellicano trial at the Federal building in Los Angeles. Jury selection began Wednesday, March 5, and it’s going to be an event! Anthony is representing himself, and that alone will be worth the price of admission.
Pellicano and I were the two biggest names when it came to getting the job done in Los Angeles, and I am proud to say that I have been very successful in other places around the world. With that being said, when Anthony Pellicano was at his best, there was no one who could compete…and we all understand why now, don’t we!
All that electronic stuff, I was the last one to get a computer in my small group of friends…I get nervous plugging a toaster in and not getting shocked! And it should go without saying that a long background in law enforcement creates a healthy respect for rules and where they bend and where they break.
For the rest of the story, paste John’s link on your browser.

While I enjoyed John Nazarian’s posts for the most part, I will not tolerate gutter language. I don’t care WHO is using it.
Owning a Rolls Royce and a Bently does not give anyone the right to offend people that way, nor does it impress me in any way. Money and posessions do not impress me. Decency and good manners DO. It goes to show that having money certainly doesn’t equate with class.
Art, you always kept this site clean and I hope you aren’t going to start making exceptions.
I realize that Mr. Nazarian is tough and has been in tough situations, but that still doesn’t give him the right to offend innocent people. If people want to lower themselves in that manner, then they should do it among themselves and in private. They should think about other people around them (including little kids) and not themselves. People are so inconsiderate and selfcentered. I think it would be a good idea to have a class in teaching kids good manners and how to treat others, in our schools at an early age, since it seems they aren’t being taught that at home anymore.
As I stated before, there is never any excuse for that kind of language from ANYONE. Maybe it’s the norm for most people, but it isn’t the norm for me, nor will it ever be. It’s too bad more people don’t rise above that kind of language. But then, maybe they just don’t have the guts to. Maybe they aren’t TOUGH enough to rise above it. Hmmmm.
If this is the kind of language that we’ll be seeing here, then I guess I won’t be coming here anymore.
While I’m on the subject, I think people are so out of control that it’s scary. I remember Natalie Holloway’s mother saying early on about how wonderful and good Natalie was, but what kind of girl would even go where she did and do the things she did? That’s no excuse for what happened to her, but if she hadn’t gone drinking to begin with, she would no doubt still be alive. I think one or two drinks isn’t such a bad thing, but no one stops there and that’s when bad things can and do happen. Innocent people are being slaughtered every day on our highways, due to people drunk/on drugs. The innocent should NOT have to pay for the wrongs that others do. If they want to drink and go out and kill themselves, that’s ok with me, but they do NOT have a right to take an innocent person’s life away from them.

Thanks Art!
It has been awhile since I heard the term “Lalaland”.
I am so very glad that you, John and Rose all will be keeping us updated! I enjoy all three of your individual writing techniques and thoughts.

Art, thanks for the kind words! It is true most of what you say, however, I have always considered myself lucky. My ‘mantra’ for years is becoming the ‘mantra’ for many lawyers and P.I.s across the country. It is very simple, “you can never trust the client.”
When Anthony Pelicano was hitting his stride, no one could beat him. For obvious reasons, he had the ability to access police communications anytime he wished and he had the ability to tap any phone, as he pleased. As was stated in court in opening statments the ‘gold” standard’ of information is a ‘wire tap’.
The evidence against Tony P and his crew is heavy, so heavy that I am predicting that it will break the back of this old and somewhat frail man. Anthony is pale and thin and so far we have not seen his swagger of years gone by.
As a matter of fact with his green windbreaker jacket and the prisoner issued trouser and the white sneakers he looks like a well dressed homeless person.
He is trying to the best that he can representing himself and Judge Fischer is giving him a great deal of room to corkscrew himself into the floor of the Federal Building. The prevalent attitude of the defense lawyers to this point is that this was all a series of bad judgements.
Anthony with his buddy Kevin, the Geek, designing and operating devices that could tap a phone in time at all. Then we have the ‘Phone Guy’ Ray Turner, who will be known as ‘happy Ray’ as he was described when he received those white envelopes. And of course it would not be a team with the ‘Good Sarge’ Mark Arneson, everytime he showed up it was like Christmas!
Every P.I. in American has often wished he or she had access to the infamous CLETs system or the home town police computer to the goods on an adversary….$ 2500.00 a month on payroll Anthony had Mark! Virtue, the former assistant told all of the other day as a Government witness with IMMUNITY told of the BIG white envelope with lots of Benjamins in it…..
Again stand by, I hope you will enjoy my take of the events leading to the day that justice will be served.

Enjoy John’s take on the procedings so far. Back in time checked out articles on Pelicano and his gang of misfits. Pretty eye opening the behind the scenes activites of some of our favorite actors/actresses and what they will do to keep a story hidden. And who will do it for them.
Going to be interesting having a first hand account.
March 9th, 2008 at 1:36 am
Sure wish I knew what this is all about. Pellicano sounds like something everybody already knows about.
March 9th, 2008 at 3:11 am
Dear Art,
‘This electronic stuff’ won’t let us copy that ‘link,’ LOL.
But we can always memorize it, or open another program and type it, then copy it, then paste it.
I really liked your ‘write up’ on this and I’m looking forward to Big John’s stuff!

He’s Gay?
You sure can’t ‘judge a book by it’s cover.’
March 9th, 2008 at 5:33 am
This is going to be fun to watch this all unfold and the effect it will have on other cases and who is involved in the other cases and are involved with this.
Re Johns language, don’t sweat the small stuff, if you don’t like it then don’t read it. But don’t carry on about it and stuff up a chance to read a fine account of modern history

I find the whole Pellicano trial,a systom of what is wrong in the world at 2008.(NO INTERGRITY)get what you want and need at any cost,no matter who you step on, just give me the big bucks and once again it shows, in my opinion how corrupt law enforcement has gotten.(virgie, former cop,Don Clark, former FBI.)I also do not have to much faith in the court system. The life style of the hollywood crowd, and the life style of the rich and famous, are so much different, than my quiet life .I had a small taste of that life at one time, and believe me (NO THANKS) Mr Nazarian, your mantra,is mine only it is watch out who you hire to help you.if there was not corrupt law enforcement pellicano, would not be sitting where he is,(WHO HELPED HIM GET THERE)
March 9th, 2008 at 10:40 am
Who are these people John Nazarian is talking about? I’ve never heard of any of them.
March 9th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
Thanks Art and Rose for John’s interesting take on this case. I love John’s writings and his colorful way of describing it. John don’t change anything about the way you write, I love your way with words.
Joni, perhaps you should monitor what your children pull up on the pc if John’s words bother you. I would be worried if I were you if my children were into crime stories.
March 9th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
Joni:
Even though this is none of my business, I wish to comment. I can understand how you feel because my mother, who is in her nineties and is a very proper person, would not even know the meaning of a bad word if she heard it. Until the age of 21, I had thought that the worst word started with an “s”.
Be calm.
March 9th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
Great article I like the different writting styles betweenYou, Rose and John .Keep the story going Maybe we will find out even more as time goes on and more of his clients come forward and tell who they hired him to look at.
March 9th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
Art did you forget you can’t copy and paste here anymore?
March 9th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
Thanks Art and John for the article. The mention of the “Clets” program brought to my mind another program “carnivore”, (not that they’re related), that was being used after the 9-11 attack. One of the key words that was being looked for was also a name in many e-jokes that were floating around. Needless to say, the program was overwhelmed with the non-sensical jokes and the system and contents were dumped. (according to an article I read.)
Now that the Pellicano wire tapping story is in the news, I’m thinking of another article I read that has me wondering just who is behind the blog wars?? Maybe that would be a good story to investigate?
Interesting article: http://blog.simplejustice.us/2008/03/07/who-is-wordpress-and-why-is-he-stalking-me.aspx

Isabel–I don’t have a clue about this Pelicano
character either!
March 10th, 2008 at 11:50 am
Art Harris ,always enjoy reading your comments.Pellicano is the must right now and we have the “first hand “witness, who’s talent to write is “incontestablement” special to him. Still onjoy your writing.

“The Truth, The Whole Truth…
And Nothing But THE BALD TRUTH.”
Gee, as I was typing this, I wasn’t even looking up and used those elipses in exactly the same place.
Are you overwhelmed…I am.
Noticed someone’s been ‘adding’ decoration to your place here.
It used to be mostly ‘true blue’ and I think…we’re being sucked up in a vac-you…mmmmm
LOL, gosh Art, I was watching those attorneys on “Sixty Minutes” that sent a man to prison for ETHICS.
WHAT GOOD IS EDUCATION…what is good?
It’s the same old ‘tube’ isn’t it…no matter the technology…no matter Cathode or whatever.
I still think you are an exceptional writer/reporter.
How’s that for faith, LOL.
March 11th, 2008 at 10:22 am
It’s almost starting to feel like the good ole day ’round here!
John, your writing is fantastic. My four older children 15, 17, 19 and 21 enjoy you as well. Please don’t change a thing!
Well…maybe you could TRY to like Mr. Federline..hehe.
March 11th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Isabel: I am calm, lol.
Flowerz: My children are grown men and they didn’t have a computer when they were growing up. I raised them right and never had any problems with any of them, thank you.
I was referring to the language JN used in a thread about B. Spears. While you may call it colorful, I call it gutter language. I guess it depends what our standards are.
A former pastor of mine once said that you shouldn’t get hardened to bad language and I agree.
March 11th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Speaking of sending a man to prison for ETHICS — when will someone nab that big Texan dude for a long-overdue punishment and to serve as an example to others planning the same scams?
March 12th, 2008 at 9:48 am
A sense of humor is like a sense of balance.
It keeps you sane…
Especially when you work in a ‘Morgue.’
Hey, somebody has to ‘do it’ the dirty work, the hard work, the real work…like the garbage men.
You know it’s a good thing if they can move up.
Everyone should take turns.
March 13th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
Joni………. You are priceless! Wish there were more people in the world like you - our world would be a better place. I admire the person that you are and the standards you live by.
March 14th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
Anne: Thank you so much! You just made my day! You are very kind.
I think you and I are so much alike and it’s so nice to know that there is at least one other person out there that thinks like me and isn’t afraid to say it. Weak people will go along with the crowd. I would much rather stand alone, if need be, than to do what everyone else is doing, if I don’t think it’s right. I’ve been laughed at before for standing for what I believe in, but I never let that change the person I am. Maybe I’m just to stubborn, lol.
You are always like a breath of fresh air, Anne, and it’s certainly good to breathe some fresh air with all this pollution that we have to put up with nowadays and I’m not talking about air pollution, lol.
I had to laugh at Flowerz’s comments about monitoring my kid’s on what they pull up on the computer. And I have absolutely no idea what makes her think they are interested in crime stories, lol. My “children” are no doubt older than she is, lol, and as far as I know they aren’t interested in crime stories. Where ever did that come from, lol.
So nice to see you again Anne, and again, thank you.
And to Flowerz: When my kids were growing up, as I said before, they didn’t have a computer.
My kids grew up the old fashioned way. They had games, books and bicycles and such. They swam in the community pool in the summer with the other kids and played in the snow for outdoor activities in the winter. We played games with our kids also. Two of my sons are Eagle Scouts. Scouting was their life and it became my husband’s and mine also. We were very involved in all our kid’s activities as well as their high school sports and little league. There was no time for computers anyway, with all of that going on. I believe these things make for better kids, than computers any day.
March 15th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
Anne I agree with you - Joni is priceless.
So true, we should not get hardened to bad language.
I am around young people a lot and I wish their parents took better care of them, with most of them, their language is straight from the gutter, so sad, and English is such a beautiful language.
I do love to read Nazarine’s take on things, sometimes with my eyes closed.
March 23rd, 2008 at 1:35 am
Joy: Thank you and I agree about the gutter language. It’s time people start to clean up their act. People need to start considering other people instead of themselves all the time.
