If Natalee was a sensible and innocent girl, it is possible that being away from home pumped her up to be trustworthy and take the chance she took, leading to her demise. Being in a new place or a beautiful island can distort a person's view and impair one's judgment into believing that everything is as safe as it is beautiful. A comment elsewhere leads me to my 2 cents on this subject.

Several years later a family remodeling a home the guy had rented found VIDEO TAPES of the guy committing the murder! Nothing could be done and the guy walks the streets TODAY!
