Kidnapped? Will Aruba Arrest Joran Van der Sloot Based On His “Confession” on tape?

Several Aruban police investigators Friday sat down with Joran Van der Sloot in Rotterdam, the giant seaport in the Netherlands, and grilled the Dutch college student about secretly recorded video tapes that showed him saying he was with Natalie Holloway when she died. She vanished in May 2005.
According to a statement by the Aruban prosecutor, he wants a court order to detain Van der Sloot as a suspect after he confessed on hidden cameras to being with the Alabama High School honor student before he and a friend loaded her into a boat that took her to sea and dumped her body—even though he wasn’t certain she was dead.
During the Friday interrogation, Joran denied he had anything to do with Holloway’s disappearance in May 2005 and said he was under the influence of marijuana when he made wild statements on an undercover video sting engineered by a famous Dutch crime reporter.
Joran remains free while prosecutors ask an Aruban appeals court to allow police to rearrrest him—a decision that could come as early as Monday.
A lower court judge said police needed more evidence after arresting and releasing him twice before but the prosecutor has called the videotapes of Joran detailing Natalie’s final moments on an Aruban beach as “impressive’ evidence, saying they would likely be admitted in court if he can get the case to trial.

I do not get that channel……
This evidence is not admissible in a court of law, and lawyers can fight this, along with the statue of limitations and saying the case was closed…according to certain lawyers hired by this Joran the Moran.
I really hope that they get his hard drive, that they track him down, and that they scope each boat in the bay and area with a good forensic team. I hope they find the guy (his father no doubt) who helped him. reverse the letters in the name maybe it will come up. I hope he does not bolt into hiding while they wait for the arrest warrant to take place.

I watched Nancy Grace tonight and watched you, Art Harris, in all your glory. You are a pretty good looking guy you know. Anyway, I don’t feel that the Aruban Authorities are completely honest and are probably covering up for Joran because of his father. I don’t understand what evidence they need when they have the tape with Joran saying he was with Natalie when she died, or went into a coma or whatever. For someone that has lied repeatedly I don’t think he should be believed now.

We’ll never know WHAT happened without a body and Van Der Sloot made sure there’ll never BE one. We know she was drunk. Her classmates even said so. I WISH, instead of giving all this attention to Van Der Sloot, SOMEONE would focus on the element that made this tragedy possible (the drinking) and let it serve as a warning, a lesson on what NOT to do!

Joran had a friend that worked on a ship who had access to a boat to get back and forth to the island. Any one remember this??? Maybe this is the guy but I’m betting it was Joran’s dad!!!!!!

I am so tired of people saying an entire should suffer because of what one perso may have done,I say may because he has not yet been charged or convicted and if he did what he claims in the taped confessionI cannot believe he would only get 1 or 2 years.Still does not make it right to blaim an entire Island or country(the Netherlands) for what one or two people may have done.From whay I have read on this once they realised Hollay was really missing and not just hiding or a runaway they did what they could.Some things do not make sense. Like the phone call at the phone booth.That would have been checked out I would have thought,long ago along with his cell

He did have a friend that work for a Dance Cruise or party boat……..I think his name was Cruez?? Didn’t at one time he said he called his dad to come and pick him up. I wonder about the dad……………is that the name Joran wants to take to his grave?
My heart goes out to Beth and Dave to lose a child and then to see a case handles in this shady way……………God Bless them and their families.

They did bring someone into the case at the beginning that had a Party Cruise Boat on the Island. I think his name was Cruz…………I also thought he called his father from his cell phone saying to come and pick him up and he had to get home because he had examines in the morning. Maybe Daddy Dearest knows more that he says also.

ALL of them probably know more than they’re saying, but without a body in cases like this there isn’t even evidence of a CRIME! There have been sucessful convictions without a body, but there wa also SOME kind of evidence. One of the cases we handled when I was working for FDLE the body was never found BUT luminol found blood evidence. DNA matched it to the missing person, and it was determined that no one could lose THAT much blood and still be alive without medical intervention so we got a conviction!
