Bald Truth Exclusive: Daniel Autopsy Photos! Inquest Doc Reveals “Abrasions” on Anna’s Son, Frantic Efforts To Revive Daniel!

While doctors described frantic efforts to revive Anna Nicole Smith’s son after he was found unconscious in her Bahamas hospital room, Daniel Smith autopsy photos put into evidence at the inquest Monday reveal mystery bruises in the pelvic area, according to the police investigator who testified in the official probe of how Daniel died in Sept., 2006.
“Inspector Aubrey St. Louis said there were some ‘pinkish, reddish abrasions on the upper right side of Daniel’s torso, in the pelvic area, but didn’t say how he’d been injured,” reports Bald Truth special correspondent, Lincoln Bain, better known as Mr. Controversy, the island celebrity talk show host who represents Anna Nicole’s former nannies and is covering the trial for artharris.com.
Bain reports that after sounding a “code blue,” medical personnel rushed to the room to find Smith without heartbeat or pulse, according to Dr. James Iferenta, on ER duty at Doctor’s Hospital. There, he testified he found a “distraught” woman unwilling to release her grip on her 20 year old son. “She clung to (him) during my time in the room,” said the doctor.
Bain says he sat on the second row, just feet away from Virgie Arthur, Daniel’s estranged grandmother, and tells The Bald Truth she scribbled notes with a white flower pen alongside her attorney, Neil McCabe, a large man with a mustache and two unidentified women also in her entourage. Her Bahamian lawyer sat at a table in front of the judge with other locals.
Stern testified he was in the room when Daniel died, and recalled how they were inseparable. “She was very close to Danny and I saw it; almost every time I saw Anna Nicole, she had Danny with her,” Stern testified.
Earlier, he’s said he was unable to get her to let go of Daniel, until he took a photo of them together to prove he was dead. At the hospital, only after a psychiatrist gave her a powerful tranquilizer did she release her death grip on the body that apparently wound up with a mystery bruise.
After each juror received an autopsy photo scrapbook to study, the police investigator held up one jolting shot of Daniel naked on a slab in the hospital morgue, and pointed out the bruise for the seven jurors, but never did explain where it came from, reports Bain. Each juror scrapbook had 6 morgue photos, including one with Daniel dressed in a brown t shirt and blue underwear, and one showing the injury.
“It was a very scientific, fact-based proceeding,” Bain told me, “with very little emotion,” until Howard K. Stern, Anna Nicole’s lawyer, companion and executor, took the stand to confirm he’d identified the body. Stern has said they’d all lived together since 1997.
“It was very difficult for him to look at the pictures; you could see the pain in his eyes,” reports Bain.
The inquest was delayed for over an hour, as coroner William Campbell waited for a tardy juror to arrive who apologized, saying she’d just forgotten about the court date.
The actual autopsy report has yet to be introduced, but an independent autopsy, done by celebrity forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht, found Daniel died from a drug cocktail made up of two different anti-depressants and methadone, a drug used to wean heroin addicts and treat others for chronic pain.
Police in the Bahamas have found no evidence of foul play, the coroner has said, and law enforcement in Florida concluded Anna Nicole died of an accidental overdose.
Jurors have been instructed their sole role is to determine how, where and when Daniel died. Nurses and other hospital personal are expected to testify Tuesday, as the coroner tries to establish a time line before a cavalcade of some 35 witnesses take the stand.
Among them: Stern, Larry Birkhead, and the South Carolina developers in a legal wrangle over the $900,000 house, Ford Shelley and G. Ben Thompson. He’s told a judge in another case, he’s “afraid” to come to the Bahamas over unspecified threats, and has dropped his legal claim to the house he says he bought and Anna Nicole said was a gift.
He’s also being tried in absentia for contempt—and could face jail—along with his attorney, Godfrey Pro Pinder, for allegedly trying to evict Anna Nicole in violation of a supreme court injunction allowing her to live there while legal battles over the title raged on. The day after Daniel was buried, Thompson sent his son in law to pressure her into signing a mortgage, but she refused.
Outside the courthouse, there was no media frenzy, or protest, says Bain, contrary to what bloggers have been falsely spreading, including that Virgie left the courthouse in tears.
“That’s a lie,” reports Bain. “I saw her leave with her lawyer and she was very calm.”

Thanks for the update, Art. I have read in multiple reports that Stern was on the stand for five minutes or less, that he was asked only two very straightforward questions (with equally straightforward answers). It sounds like there’s more to this than is being reported elsewhere, which is not at all surprising given that there are so many ulterior motives in the reporting of this inquest.

hi art. thank lincoln for me as well. so is it possible that the bruise came from anna holding on to daniel so tightly? can’t they tell if it was before or after his death? he could have gotten that bruise before he even left the usa. i’m glad that people will see how much howard loved anna and daniel and would never hurt either of them. this man needs time to grieve. why is vergie there? her attorneys can ask questions to the witnesses because she had been absent from their lives since 1994. this came out of her own mouth in the florida courtroom. how can she be daniel’s beneficary? could someone answer these questions, please.

It sounds like that Anna was grasping Daniel’s body so hard that she most likely caused the abrasions on him as they worked on his chest area and airways. It had to be hard for Howard to look at those pictures of Daniel. I truly believe he loved the guy.

Art thank you for the this update and for arranging for Bain to give us the happenings on the inside. I have always thought that after a year from when the investigators from the Bahamas went to California to talk to Daniel’s friends and doctor, Howard is still coming and going as he pleases and that says volumes to me. Makes one think there was nothing that stood out about Howard there or anywhere else as far as that goes. This is an inquest and it has been said that they found Daniel died from a drug cocktail made up of two different anti-depressants and methadone, a drug used to wean heroin addicts and treat others for chronic pain. It has been said that Anna had terrible pain from her breat implants, and that Daniel went 2 times and stayed for days in the hospital because of terrible back pain. I think that it is possible that Daniel took Methadone for his back pain and so will wait to hear from Ray Martino on all acounts. Ray Martino was the closest to Daniel in California and Anna asked Ray to look out for Daniel. Methadone IMO was very addictive for mother and son and the downfall for both of them.

It is time to heal, both Daniel and Anna are not coming back ever, an that is the saddest thing to realize it is a life shattering event that seems to want to play itself over and over again. Virgie has to be a sadist.

I remember hearing about the bruises on Daniel’s body shortly after he died. Some were questioning rather Howard had something to do with it when he picked Daniel up to bring to the hospital to see his mom. It was mentioned quite some time ago and don’t remember who or what website had it.

I feel so sad for Howard to have to relive this and see photos, etc. How tragic. I hope he finds peace and has time to grieve the loss of the 2 people he loved most dearly. Thank God he has such a wonderful family and good friends there for him through these trying times, to say the least.
As for Virgie, I agree, why was she there? She’s being more of a “grandmother” now than she had been in over 10 years….she has no place there.
Clearly this was a tragic accident. I still have that uneasy feeling that the SC crew is behind this accident….

When I read about them showing the picture of poor Daniel’s naked body I just cried. It seems like they could have limited who was in the courtroom when they showed that. Daniel deserves dignity in death. I don’t think showing his dead naked body to a court room of people that didn’t
need to see it is being respectful of Daniel. Other people might not see it the way I do and that’s ok.
I don’t think this is going to turn out the way VA wants it to. I hope she did feel some “real” emotion when they showed the picture of Daniel. If she didn’t then she really doesn’t have a heart as I have thought for a long time now. I hope she and her attorneys get put in their place at the inquest. I hope she gets shut down everytime she tries to pull something on LB & HKS. Just looking at her makes me mad.
I know this seems petty. Some would say it has nothing to do with the inquest but depending on when she got the ring it might have a lot to do with everything VA has done since ANS died.
I hadn’t noticed VA wearing that “large” stone on her left hand before. Has anyone else seen it before?

I really wonder about the legality of Virgie’s claim re. being Daniel Smith’s estate beneficiary. Daniel died before his mother, so his estate reverted to his mother, and upon his mother’s death to his surviving sister.
Also I am beginning to suspect that `Texas` is in this case not because he wants to grasp the possible Marshall Millions on behalf of Virgie, but …. perhaps to attack and weaken Anna Nicole’s estate reps. and prevent them for pursuing the case. In other words, I am wondering if he is not doing the Marshalls a favor by trying to wear down Howard and prevent him from winning on Anna’s (and thus her daughter’s) behalf.
This is indeed a strange\ strange case.

Happy thanksgiving! What I’am trying to understand is why Ms.Virge spending so much of her time hating Howard. This is the time when she should be tryhing to bond with her granddaughter, Daniel and Anna is gone, nothing she can do or say will bring them back, Ms. Virge need to get her mind off of MONEY and send her lawyers packing” stop fighting with Howard and Lary, and try to find some peace in her heart” and stop all this maddness that little girl needs all the love she can get. I defend Virgie only knowing what I’ve read, and that I know she was a mother…and I can’t minimize that reality, yet I know any ‘woman’ can have babies…and often do.
And, she was a cop…and almost ‘anyone’ can be a cop.
She had a hard life, and too, many children, and medical problems.
And, maybe she closed her heart or lost her mind, after her aneurism (sp?)…or prior to that, when her son ‘accidentally’ shot himself.

It looks to me as if Virgie is trying to copy Anna. I noticed a long time ago, she was wearing a cross, just like Anna did. Virgie may not know this, but that cross won’t get her into heaven.
I wonder if Virgie even feels a tiny bit of guilt in the way she treated Anna. Somehow, I don’t think she does… don’t think she is really capable of it. She is a sorry piece of work.
Wonder where Mr. Arthur has been. Did she ditch him already? Or maybe he ditched, her, lol.

As for Virgie, it’s kind of odd the way the women who say they are associated with Anna seem to be morphing into Anna. Or atleast TRYING to be like her. Jackie Hatten, Donna Hogan and now her mom. It starts with bleaching the hair, then add diamonds and colour pink… what next? Playboy spread *gag*
As someone suggested earlier Virgie needs an appointment with a plastic surgeon.

Well,after having a wonderful Thankgiving,2 inches of snow,came back,low and behold got a cold,so I decided to go to bed early,put the tv on,there was geraldo,boy,he never stops,with his rotten mouth,still playing the clown tape,and making a statement implying the bahamas will not be fair and just.POOR GERALDO,I SEE WHY 5 WIFES,THAT IS ONE UNFAIR PERSON,WHO IS GIVEN HIS OWN SHOW,TO SPOUT HATE OF ANYONE HE DOES NOT LIKE,FOX IS PROUD OF HIM,CAN YOU BELIEVE IT. Terri (#34), the answer to your rhetorical question is, “No.” Howard could not keep Anna alive. No one can keep an addict alive if the addicted person is fixed on self destruction. As for Daniel, his death seems clearly an accident. Perhaps it was the result of feeling abandoned by his mother’s moving to the Bahamas as well as the imminent arrival of a new sibling. I believe Daniel was jealous and scared of losing his position of being the No. 1 man in Anna’s life.
Once Daniel self destructed, it was inevitable that Anna would drive herself deeper into despair and further down into that alcoholic/drug addled netherworld from which she slipped in and out. Howard couldn’t save her; no one can ever save an addict from his demons. Only the addict can do that.

This will probably get dropped, but geez and rice. HKS is a GROWN man,who’s JOB was to PROTECT ANS. Did that happen? If HKS had been doing his JOB, wouldn’t ANS, and DWS be with us today? I have followed this whole tragic thing for well over a year, and it just sickens me, to see not 1, but 2 grown men, living off the blood of a deceased woman, and her baby child.

Howard’s job was to protect Anna? You make it sound like he was her bodyguard. Anna was an adult who made her own decisions.
