Bald Truth Exclusive: Nannygate Reckoning Day? Lin Wood To Depose Rita Cosby Thursday In NYC; Why Was Libel Suit Federal Judge “Troubled?” Read Clues In Our Oct. 18 Hearing Transcript!

The Bald Truth has learned Howard K. Stern’s pitbull lawyer is scheduled to take Rita Cosby’s deposition Thursday in New York City. AND, Lin Wood confirms, it will all be caught on court-approved videotape.
If anyone wonders why Wood got the green light from a federal judge to put the ex-MSNBCer under oath so quickly after filing a $60 million libel suit against her, all you have to do is read transcripts from the Oct. 18 hearing on Nannygate, obtained exclusively by The Bald Truth, and you will understand the concerns of U.S. District Judge D. J. Chin.
At the hearing, the transcript shows, Judge Chin described reviewing secretly-recorded audiotapes capturing Cosby offering to pay Anna Nicole Smith’s former employees–and their attorney–thousands of dollars for affadavits to back up her reporting on a so called gay sex tape.
She’s claimed that her sources told her the nannies described the tape as a favorite of Anna’s, and featured Stern and Larry Birkhead. Both deny they were ever taped, and say they are not gay.
However, in apparently offering to pay nannies she never interviewed for her book, Blonde Ambition, Wood says Cosby’s actions were tantamount to witness tampering and demanded speedy discovery to preserve testimony and evidence.
At the hearing, Judge Chin asked Cosby’s lawyer, Elizabeth McNamara, if the tapes were legit; she said, yes, but that a different picture would emerge once all the facts were known, and that Cosby had done nothing wrong.
She later submitted an affadavit cosby-affadavit-of-elizabeth-mcnamara-and-exhibita.pdf, detailing her efforts to preserve all evidence, including inviting in a top security firm, Kroll, to make a mirror image copy of Cosby’s hard drive, and locked up all original tapes related to her reporting on the bestseller under seige.
Then came Chin’s 20 page order Nov. 6, as reported here and etonline, granting Wood permission to question her client and others under oath, and opening the door for Wood’s Thursday deposition.
Sources say he also plans to interview her boyfriend, who went to the Bahamas with her, and others who may have been witnesses to her attempt to meet the nannies for an affadavit to shore up her reporting about them, and sources for nannies-sex tape allegations she has said she relied on that the nannies now deny they ever gave to anyone.

Discovery and delay the two words that the both the plaintiff and defendant are going to understand very quickly due to this tragic book, that came out full of lies and deception.
I would hope that the wonderful Judge Chin, will read this trash and make a decision on it and ask

Thanks Art for keeping up with all this stuff going on with multiple people, multiple jurisdictions, from the US to Bahamas. Alot of work to keep up with this and I glad you do!! I don’t think HKS would have ever gotten a fair shake in this had you, as an honest reporter, taken the time to show readers BOTH sides and COMPLETE reporting of all this entails!

I understand fully why the judge is concerned. Rita Cosby stated exactly how she wanted the nannies were to fruadantly lie on an invoice in order to get the affadavit she needed from the nannies. The video tape is really shameful. I am still bewildered, did Rita Cosby really believe that HKS and Larry were not going to sue her for slander. What could this woman have been thinking. Did some other than Hatchett pay her to do this. It simply does not make any sense. Was it greed on Rita’s part or was it some sort of perverted revenge. I can’t seem to understand why Rita would take such a chance. I think I like this judge, he seems to be very reasonable and fair.
I just want Howard K. Stern to have his day in court regarding all the vicious lies that have been told about him. I feel that, Rita Cosby could be in some serious trouble. Her book does not appear to have been properly vetted. What a shame. Reputations destroyed,for what? Where does HKS and Larry go to get back their good name. Once a lie has gone out, you cannot retrieve it, it’s out there. Lin Wood was right, Justice demands the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Can you imagine what the publishers must be thinking? Can you imagine what Team Stupid and Team Silly have to be wondering?
The inquest is coming and that too has got to be handled with the highest level of dignity! It does after all involves the death of a wonderful youngman! It is also a very official act by the government of the Bahamas. I just hope the picketers show up as it has been reported to me in the past few weeks, again the Bahamians have a right to feel insulted by these outsiders who trash them and their system!
This is a nice time of year to visit the Bahamas and we are looking forward to visiting with all of our friends there!

She too lost a friend when Anna died! I hear that those who provided all that ‘good’ intel to the Attorney General are becoming curious! Ms. Rita did not talk to Brian to after her book was publish,, Ms. Rita also said that she herself knew that a sex tape exit, knowing that was a lie , when she took her A.. to the Bahamas she knew that she had to cover up her lies in her book , by paying money. I don’t care what other tape-recording Ms. Rita comes up with the truth of the matter is what she was busted doing on tape!. I can’t imagine any amount of smoke and/or mirrors getting Rita out of this one. The grim truth is that her best case scenario might be getting sued for everything she’s got, never working for a reputable news outlet again and just not going to jail. I say “not going to jail” because if she lies during this proceeding (which I am about 50/50 as to whether or not she’s stupid enough to compound her problems by lying under oath) she very well could be sentenced to a short prison stay. This couldn’t come at a better time for Howard and co. though as he’s the only one who I can see could get stuck with Anna’s old legal bills and certainly we all know his financial situation (he’s living with his parents I believe is what he said on LK Live). I just hope for his sake that he decides to sit on the money he makes from this defamation suit and doesn’t make a fool out of himself by making a futile attempt at Anna’s former husband’s estate.

I was at my local book store and I noticed they had Blonde ambition under the biograpy section, so I asked the manager why this fiction book was under biography and he told me that is what is listed under, I asked him if he had read the book or knew about the case going on with the book and he said he had no idea about the book at all. I suggested to him that he should do more research and then maybe put the book where it belongs under fiction, when he asked me where he could find out more about this case I gave him the Art Harris web site to check out.
I’m sure he was just being polite by listening to me as I spend alot of money in his book store, but it was good for a little humor on a boring day lol. Who knows maybe next time I go in this book will be where it belongs, either under fiction or my preference in the garbage.

I believe Rita learned by the best in lieing, O’Quinn…I bet you she got money from O’Quinn under the table to write this book for him and Virgie. She tryed to do the same but got caught bribing the nannies. She thought she would offer money to them just like O’Quinn did for her. All O’Quinn needed was for her to degrade Howard and Larry. When the public STILL hated Virgie then the law suit came for Howard, Virgie sues Howard. Jackie Hatten needs to be put on the stand right next to Rita. Since Rita used Jackie’s statment that she saw them together I sure hope Lin Woods calls Jackie to answer a few questions.

This is what I think transpired with this book. Jackie Hatten told Rita that she saw HKS and Larry doing their thing. She also told her many other lies because she hates HKS. Rita believed her because she also hated HKS. Virgie got wind of this and possibly told Rita that the nannies also viewed a tape and Rita believed this. It may or may not have come from O’Quinn’s office but now they have to say it’s true even though they probably wish they weren’t in this mess. Rita believed this to be true but should never have written about this without seeing the tape, which doesn’t exist, herself. The entire book could have been named The we hate Howard book. I never could stand Rita.

My reasoning and logic hopes that Judge Chin will not only hear this transcript, but read the book for one reason and one reason alone, it is full of discrepancies and lies. I have faith in the judicial system.
It is marketed as a TRUE BIOGRAPHY.. which it is not, which is a not only a lie, to the people profiled in this trash,but also to the very people who were sucked in and bought it, thinking it as truth, from an award winning journalist.
This judge not only has to rule on the evidence that he hears but to the simple idea of the selling and marketing of this book,there are also countless videos of Crosby saying how true it was on every level and on every network she could get her big dirty mouth on.
Now tell me Kate, how would you feel if something was written about you that was untrue, this has to stop it is illegal and slanderous to write things about people that are just plain not true and if it doesn’t stop, imagine how your simple life could be ruined by anything anyone said and no one could protect your integrity!
The best thing that this Judge could do is read the book and rule, because it was a very mean spirited book.
” Publishers who own these rights to this supposed biography, please remove this book from all book seller shelves, you have 24 hours to do so ,and make a statement that this is not a true accounting of events and anyone who bought this book,please return to the store it is a total recall, one more thing this judgement is final and I am awarding to the people spoken about in this book the amount of blah blah blah”

Just want to say thanks to all of our supporters and with a sincere feeling, no one connected to any of this wishes anyone but the best that their lives can provide.
I am sending this out to all, this has been a battle and much was learned by all involved. The one sure thing is that the truth will be told and some will go away quietly to reflect and others will do what they have to.
Larry and Howard will do what is right as they have all along and take care of number one, the baby.
And for me, most of my work is done and all of my goals have been achieved!
Thanks to Art for continued support and again, I wish you all well as we head towards the holidays!
This will be my last post on this case and again, thanks for all of you who helped, you know who you are!

It’s great the way HKS’s lawsuit is shaping up so far, but wouldn’t it be even better if Rita got a double wammy from Larry Birkhead. I certainly hope he’s still planning to file.

I for one DO NOT believe that deposition of Rita Cosby should be sealed.She should get NO SPECIAL TREATMENT WHATSOEVER.Everything should be made puplic.she had no thought of Howard or Larry.As far as Don Clark ,clark should have told his boss OQ,it is not nice to call someone a murderer,and also,WITH CLARK GOING ON EVERY TV PROGRAM AND GIVING WRONG INFORMATION OF HOWARD,AND STATING HIS OPINION,I AM HOPING LIN WOOD GETS EVERY PROGRAM CLARK WAS ON,HE WAS A BIAS PERSON,THUS SHOULD HAVE NOT ENTERED THIS CASE

I will miss John Nazarian’s posts on here. It has been a pleasure having him post with us. He needs to know if ever he needs us, we are here to support and conquer. LOL. The fact that everyone else can slam HKS publicly over and over is wrong. She made his life in her book public, full of lies for all the world to see, so what is good for goose is better for the gander. If he can be dragged through the mud time and time again, so can everyone else. I say show it all, from all sides. Why should HKS be the only one here? Air everyone’s dirty laundry for the world to see. Just seems fair and balanced to me! I hope the tape is shown to the world just like Anna and Howard’s life has been. Now it’s payback time for the dark souls in this saga to see how it feels. JMHO

I don’t think the deposition should be sealed either.Sombody just does not want it out in the public arena before the start of the inquest on monday.I also wonder how some of these people get away with using their previous jobs Like Fbi LA police dept to intimidate people when they talk to them.It seems that Arts site may have been hacked into last night.Wonder why,if it is fact true??? Maybe Larry’s suit is why they want it sealed,never thought of that.She would not want his attorneys to se her deposition.

Should you go to the Bahamas, please tell those beautiful people that we love them. Anne regarded them as family and so do we (speaking for Howard supporters, hope it is ok). If people like Mama Gibson and Dr/Pastor Miles Monroe are a reflection of the people in the Bahamas, then, gosh, what a beautiful people they truly are. Seems to me they have a lot of character.

Has either (1) completed sixty (60) semester hours from an accredited college or university with a “2.0” average or (2) military service with an honorable discharge.
Applicants with five (5) full years of active law enforcement experience are exempt from education and military service requirements.
Age: 21 - 44 years of age, but must not have reached their 45th birthday prior to oath of office or certification.
Must be a U.S. citizen and resident of the contiguous United States for a period of time sufficient to conduct a comprehensive background investigation. Consideration given for military, overseas assignments.
Weight in proportion to height.
Pass all phases of the Work Sample Test (physical agility).
Valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.
No more than (2) moving traffic violations within an eighteen (18) month period preceding the date of application. Driving record should reflect prudence and maturity.
No felony or Class A misdemeanor convictions. No class B misdemeanor convictions within the past ten years preceding the date of application.
Previous military personnel must not have been convicted of any court-martial higher than a summary.
Have a stable credit history, family background, and employment background.

I am almost certain that many years ago it was quite different. A high school education was probably all that was required, if not less. I do not think much was required of them other than health and strength. Given them uniform, boots and a club and they were probably all set.
In any case, why doesn’t someone who enjoys research, research all there is to know about Virgie and publicize it? Since she wants to be a public figure, publicizing that knowledge would be par for the course for a public figure.

I think Virgie was a sheriff’s deputy and I doubt they had to have much education or training for that, especially back then and even now, in small communities. I live in a rural (small town) area and even the sheriff doesn’t have to have more than a high school education and that’s about it.
