Bald Truth Exclusive: New Evidence Against Opri? Did Debra Use Our Website To Slime Larry??

We are totally bummed!
After months of page one billing on her website, The Bald Truth has learned that attorney Debra Opri has removed her hot link to our growing news site, www.artharris.com. We were crushed, until we learned the rest of the story.
Why we wondered, was she sending her fans and visitors to check us out, to read her own original petition and supporting motions we’d broken that backed Opri’s since rejected plea for binding arbitration over a $620,000 legal fee that made Larry Birkhead ballistic. What we felt newsworthy were an attorney’s exhibits that appeared to trash a former client. We considered it a window onto a case that has been as much smear as strategy, and now understand why hauling her own Larry trash was apparently too hot for her own online ‘hood to handle.
For a time, we confess to preening from her praise, as she called us as one of the few places that had treated her fairly by presenting her side of the controversial story.
Now, after reading the Birkhead motion and exhibit, we understand Opri may have used us to carry Larry garbage to the curb in motions challenged by Birkhead that a judge had sustained. And we thought she’d honored us with a hotlink because we were special!
On Oct. 10, Andrew Stein, a partner in the LA Trope & DeCarolis firm that represents Birkhead, said in a declaration that when he clicked on Opri’s website, he found a headline “in all capital letters: ‘CLICK HERE FOR ART HARRIS’ POSTING OF DEBRA OPRI’S ARBITRATION PLEADINGS.’”
Just a click away, he said he found our site, including Opri petitions filed June 6 to support her motion for binding arbitration. Among the motions were those, Stein says that Birkhead had challenged, and the court had “sustained the numerous objections that Larry Birkhead had filed regarding (her) allegations…that, among other things, had impugned the character of Mr. Birkhead.”
Now, Birkhead attorney Michael Trope has cited The Bald Truth as an exhibit in his lawsuit against Opri, and since these are wars of spin as much as law, with all sides courting public sympathy, we’re delighted when any party links to our reports.
Still, we still have to ask what you think: were we played…suckered by our favorite lipstick pitbull, a sweet charmer who impressed us long ago with an ability to defend Michael Jackson with a straight face, shamelessly courted cameras for her cause–and now portrays herself as victim in an evil Sternie-Birkie cabal?
“I would never do the things they’re saying I did,” she told me a while back. “You know me.”
Birkhead also wants to know if she violated a bar ethics code for allegedly sharing confidential information with Rita Cosby about him. She denies it, but did call one night to defend Cosby, as I reported, citing multiple sources she used to back up the gay tryst scene both Birkhead and Stern deny as responsible journalism.
But that was before Nannygate, and secret tapes suggesting an attempt to pay sources Cosby had never interviewed for an affadavit to back up what she’d already written about from other sources in her book, Blonde Ambition.
Any lessons? From now on, we’ll be checking the wax in our ears, to guard against being mesmerized by underdog Medusas, and putting our laptops at risk sailing too close to the cruel rocks of Sisyphusian spin?
Flashing back to our glory days as Debra’s fav hot link, Trope’s exhibits suggest a judge had upheld their objections to her trash talk about Larry’s messy apartment and a bizarre (and maybe even gay) roomie named Byron, and how the Bald Truth, in effect, may have been used as salacious online storage to skirt a court ruling.
Now, our only solace is that our website may be introduced as evidence for his case, charging Opri used The Bald Truth to park her scholarly work, and allegedly keep her own fingerprints off the garbage. Ah, spin storage in the digital age.
We trust that even though Debra no longer directs her fans, Larry gawkers and legal scholars alike to www.artharris.com, everyone will still feel welcome; you can still read the controversial exhibits on our site. They certainly open a window to debate questions of client confidentiality, not to mention the relevance of raising innuendos about a client’s sexuality after a professional falling out.
To be fair, I asked Debra, “Are you a lesbian?”
I thought I heard a gasp, the moment seemingly frozen for a shocking second, Debra perhaps wondering how I could possibly ask such a question.
As a southern gentleman, I’ve never asked that of a woman before, nothing to be ashamed of at all (I love lesbians, boast many as friends and my wife believes I may have been one in a prior life). But some legal observers say the Cosby book has made sexuality an issue, and not in a nice way, but as a club to demonize and possibly poison a jury pool in the conservative Bahamas.
Not to single out Debra, but I’ve since asked Howard and Larry and they both deny they are gay, or ever had the gay tryst Cosby says Anna’s former nannies describe in the book, and deny they ever discussed with the unnamed private eye Cosby cites as a source.
“What did you ask me”?”

“I’m happily married,” she said, quickly saying goodnight.

Hey Art, maybe you basked in Debra Opri’s praise and gratitude, but I didn’t, lol. And she never impressed me with anything, lol. It takes a whole lot more than what she could ever do to impress me.
I still don’t like Larry and it didn’t take Opri or anyone else to turn me against him. HE DID THAT ALL BY HIMSELF. I form an opinion of someone by the things they do, the things they say, the way they conduct themselves and how they treat others, over a period of time. This is why I don’t like Larry and why I DO like Howard. I think this is why alot of people like and support Howard (aside from the fact that he’s so damned good looking), lol.
I haven’t said anything bad about Larry for a good while (and believe me, it’s been difficult,lol) and was doing that because of Howard and Dannielynn, but felt compelled to say something now. I hope Larry keeps that dear, innocent little girl away from the trash he has been hanging out with (Paris Hilton, Hugh Hefner, need I go on?) The only difference between people like them and people like Virgie and her clan, is money. Take away all their money, and you have the same type of people. Trash. Some people are under the mistaken notion that money makes you a better person. WRONG!!
Don’t misunderstand me. There are alot of good people that do have money. THEY are the ones with REAL class. There’s a big difference between having class and just having money. You can have money and not have any class. You can have class and not have any money, or you can have both. But money alone, does not give you class. Are you listening Larry?
The kind of upbringing Dannielynn will have and the kind of people she is surrounded with, is going to help mold her for the rest of her life. Take note Larry.
The only thing good I can say about Larry at this time, is that it seems like he FINALLY took someone’s advice and is keeping that precious baby away from the cameras. Larry needs to always put Dannielynn’s needs and best interests before his own. That’s what any good parent would do. That’s what Howard is doing. See how it’s done, Larry?
I know this isn’t going to set well with some people, but this is how I feel.

So what if Opri had a link to your website? So now she’s responsible for your actions? You’re the one who put the pleadings on the web allowing the world to see the details of the case. Larry is the one who forced this case into the courts, and, therefore, into the public forum.
It’s time that someone looked back at all the times that broadcasters wondered on air as to how Larry was going to pay for this action. Never once did I hear that Opri was doing this for free.
BTW- I was alerted to your postings thru TMZ first or directly thru your site so Opri’s link was redundant.

It seems like Larry got what he wanted fame? he is now posing for picture’s with Paris Hilton at Hef’s party wow luckt guy LOL.
So I guess D.O. did help change his image, I’m sure D.L. will be so proud of her Daddy someday when she see’s that picture’ He has said he just wants to lead a normal life and raise D.L. and then he has his picture taken with Paris wow Larry real good job that will really help you stay out of the press.
He is now being invited to red capet events Hef’s house any many other star studded events and he goes to them all and has his picture taken everywhere.
I think Anna hit the nail on the head when in one of her interviews she said he was just looking to ride on her coat tails to try to become famous.
I am still trying to give the guy the benifit of the doubt but it’s getting harded by the minute come on now Larry Paris Hilton????
I still say the only one with class and respect for Anna is Howard, you can see he is truly heart broken.
It seems like just about everybody else has sold their soul to the devil for fame or money or both. Anna must just be shaking her head and going I told you so!!!!

and would very much love to see LB win this case. Debra Opri actually double-billed him. LB appears to be a very good father who takes good care of his daughter. And it’s no big deal if he hangs out with Paris Hilton, or even Hugh Heffner, Paris Hilton is not an evil person, and Hugh Heffner is over the hill. LB is a celebrity photographer,

Joni ,I agree HE DID THAT ALL BY HIMSELF! If he honestly believed he was the father, there was NO reason for him to
go public, unless it was for fame.IMO. Larry will be doing alot of explaining to his daughter, why he bashed her mother and companion after the death of her brother, and teamed up with an estranged mom, is beyond me if he knew the baby was his. Though one should give him the benefit, as he has said he regrets, some of his interviews. Yet he has never publicly apolgized to Howard or Dannielynn for his public smearing of Anna/Howard, by him or his representives.
Perhaps, if he does that my opinion MIGHT change!

Kyphil is a friend of mine. I don’t think he goes on these sites to blog. He and I were talking one day and he mentioned the name susieq as well as some other names of people that he chatted with. I think he also said that he and susieq emailed back and forth too. I was just wondering if you were the same one. I know there are a lot of people with the same names out there but you never know.
I use to go by just Sarah but after I read the things that you are talking about that were posted by another Sarah I changed mine to Sarah from KY. I didn’t want anyone to get my comments mixed up with hers.

I realy feel sorry for the little munchkin (dannielynn) having to grow up and read all this garbage some day. Why don’t people treat this baby as their own and see if they would then put all of this out there for her to read. The only one who has shown any respect for this child is Howard K. Stern. Hopefully Howard will some day be able to explain all this mess to her. You can now see that Howard truly loved Anna and will always try to protect her child as tho she were his own. Larry’s pictures with Paris?? SO WHAT. LARRY was a celebtity photograper and knows a lot of people in H’wood. AT a party, someone is always taking pictures. He was standing beside her and someone stapped the shot. BIG DEAL. Many pics were taken, not just Larry and Paris. AS to date, I have not seen Larry do anything illegal or immoral that would prove him an unfit dad or an unfit person. He is living his life and being a good father at the same time. NO PARENT STAYS HOME 24/7 for a child. NO ONE. WE All have to get out once in a while. Larry – keep up the good work. You are doing fine.

Art, this is a blessing! Why would someone as well known as you care about what Ms. Opri does or says! I told you and your readers that the ‘otherside’ is watching and monitoring your site! And in saying that it must have the same effect as garlic did for Ms. Dracula!
As for those pictures, and the poses, LOL too funny! Thank god I was an original and ‘others’ have tried to copy some of my ‘branding’. However for a lawyer it is tough trying to build an image constantly and then getting smacked back down to just another lawyer. Luckily for me most P.I.’s are not that creative and they tend to be cheap!
I would never say that Ms. Opri is stupid, she has managed to get her train back on track a few times….and it does leave the station, but it is too bad that she does not check the track to see if the spikes are in place to hold those rails from pulling apart! With that said do not under estimate her she does not seem to be buckling under these ruling from the court.

As for Larry,he get what he want! He have the baby,the house and a little fame. He is a young boy. He will grow with Dannielynn, and I hope he will protect her from the bad feeling going on in this planet!!! It took me so long to admit him with all the publicity against Anna and Howard!!! I am not convince but I think he is a good father. I was with the one who said Dannielynn should stay with Howard until she have 18 years old.

Joni….. I understand what you are saying and feel the same way. I have said nothing about Larry since Howard was on Larry King and indirectly asked us not to make comments about him BUT it has not been easy! I respect Howard and his wishes BUT seeing him with Hefner at the party, dancing, laughing and living it up with the likes of Paris Hilton was just too much because I immediately thought about what Howard was doing and more important what was he feeling. I want to see Howard smiling, happy and without a worry in the world and I resent the heck out of Larry and his happy, smiling face because I know what got him there – the broken hearts of Anna and Howard. I watched him, watched Howard too – I chose Howard, who quickly earned the respect of any sane thinking person capable of making up their own mind. I’m not really sure that Larry is the reason that we are seeing less of Dannielynn. There is just so much else going on right now with this case and I have wondered if Larry is not just hating that because more media coverage of Dannielynn means more MONEY and media coverage for him. Howard, Art and John all say positive things about Larry and I have a feeling they want us to back up off him (and we have) but I am no where near forgiving or forgetting. Maybe some day – but not now, not yet. With all my heart and soul I think I see the REAL LARRY – the kind of person he really is and why he did the awful things he did – just as I believe I see the REAL HOWARD – I have the utmost respect for him, I hurt for him and I will never accept or like anyone who has hurt him, lied about him, and walked all over him (and his beloved Anna) for their own success, wealth and happiness.

I agree freida…for the simple fact that she is now a cash cow for Larry and she will grow up to learn her father is a con artist who doesn’t care about her but what her mother and her can provide to him..money and fame.. though I would say he is famous for being a looser and I hope OPRI prevails in the end..I have worked in the legal system and things can turn around rather quickly. Good luck OPRI..take this no good piece of **** to the cleaners.

Did Larry really need Opri to make him famous or to help him clean up his image? Larry was a celebrity photog. He knew what helped and what hurt a person’s image. Regardless of who Larry’s attorney was Larry claiming to be Dannielynn’s father, ANS death, all the court battles and the DNA confirming he was Dannielynn’s father was enough to put him in the spotlight. The public waited with baited breath for every snippet of news about Larry. Many still do. Considering all of this isn’t it only natural that doors would be open to Larry that weren’t before? How do we know that Larry hasn’t attended Hef’s parties before? If you will read the stories connected to the links below you will see that Hef’s guest lists include a large variety of people. There are a lot of well respected people who attend Hef’s parties. Not all of them are Paris Hilton types. Many of them are parents so should they stay home? Should Larry become a recluse because he is a father now?
Was Larry having a one minute or a one hour conversation with Paris. Did she encourage the pic being taken? We all know Paris loves to pose for pics. Did a photog see an opportunity to take a newsworthy pic?

For the ones who think I am saying Larry should not go out and have fun. Where did I ever say that? I didn’t. He just needs to go out with decent people, that’s all. Any respectable person wouldn’t go near the likes of Hugh Hefner and Paris Hilton. These people are scum to me. Having a recognizable name, doesn’t mean they are decent people. In most cases it means they got that name by being the scum they really are. They are way down near the bottom of the pit in my opinion and I am entitled to my opinion just like anyone else is.

Hello Everyone and thanks again for your many prayers. I have been reading all the posts, but seldom posted myself. I’m not the greatest right now, but I’m better, thank God.
As far as Larry is concerned, it seems he has done one thing that I think is right and that is to keep Dannielynn out of the limelight. I don’t care what Larry does with his life as long as he’s good to her and brings her up right. One must have their own morals in tact in order to bring up a child in the way they should be brought up.
Debra Opri is another story. She might be a pit bulldog, but she’s in for the fight of her life. I have no sympathy for her because of the way she treated Howard in the media and in the courtroom. She is a snake, bottom line.

I hope Larry keeps that dear, innocent little girl away from the trash he has been hanging out with (Paris Hilton, Hugh Hefner, need I go on?) The only difference between people like them and people like Virgie and her clan, is money. Take away all their money, and you have the same type of people. Trash. Some people are under the mistaken notion that money makes you a better person. WRONG!!
Do you realize that you are talking about Dannielynn’s mother? Anna was a playboy bunny, hell, she was Playmate of the freakin year!!! She hung out with Hugh Heffner and Paris Hilton. How is Larry going to a party that ANNA once TOOK HIM to any different from Anna herself doing it? Is it still because Larry is the bio dad and not Howard? Is that deep down what it really is? I think you need to take a good look at where the core of the above statement and the hate comes from. Anna did what she did. Larry doing the same thing is no different. The difference lies in the fact that Larry isn’t hooked on prescription drugs while doing it.
We all cry for Anna. I cry everytime it really hits me that she is gone and what she went through in a life that was cut way to short. But come on, don’t crucify Larry for doing the same thing that Anna did. He’s human. He’s been put in the spotlight and no matter how he got there, he is doing what most of us would do in same situation. We all know that Larry wanted fame and fortune. If mostofus went from being a nobody to being a “somebody,” we to would enjoy a moment here and there. I really don’t think Larry, given the chance would have chosen to be put in the spotlight in the way that he was. I’m almost positive that he would have rather NOT had to fight so long and hard to be in his daughters life. I’m pretty positive that he would much rather have Anna alive and share parenting duties, together as a family or as seperate individuals who co-parent together.
Larry is a good guy that has been put in a position that it must suck to be in. He and Howard have accusations thrown at them all day, everyday.

Normally I don’t comment at all on other posts, but a few above where I am writing a poster tried to claim that Larry has kept Dannielynn out of the limelight. But I just have to disagree with that on a number of levels. Larry sells exclusive rights to photograph Dannielynn, he sells total coverage of her FIRST BIRTHDAY and sells information in the way of exclusive interviews. In regards to Opri and Larry’s legal dispute, I have tried to determine which one is greedier, and I suppose she edges out Larry. But I have a feeling that’s going to change when Larry starts going after the big score of the Marshall fortune.

t: I had never even heard of Anna before she had Dannielynn and her son died. I’m not into Playboy bunnies or any of these celebrities for that matter. I don’t care for that sort. And I certainly don’t apologize for feeling that way about them. They are in a completly different world from mine and that’s the way I like it.
I got involved in all of this though, when I couldn’t help but notice it all being on TV. I had to ask my son who this woman (Anna) was, when I first saw a video of her in the hospital. I had never seen her before and hadn’t been paying attention to it all, at the time. It was after she died that I started to watch everything and saw what the media was doing to Howard. I’d never seen him before either, but from everything I saw the media doing to this man, I was apalled. I couldn’t believe the things these people were saying about Howard and accusing him of, without so much as a shred of evidence of ANY wrongdoing. So I started to watch him and watched all the video clips and the hearing in Fla., and from what I gathered, he seemed like a really nice man who was truly grieving. He seemed like the ONLY one truly grieving.
I did wonder how he got caught up with these people, but the more I watched, the more I saw how in love he was with Anna. I then came online to find a support group for Howard, because I was upset that the media was getting away with this witch hunt. I then learned so much more about Anna and her terrible upbringing and felt so badly that she had to live through that.
I’ve been supporting Howard ever since. The more time went on, the more I could see what he was like. I think he is truly a good man, a loving man and a decent man. Anna was fortunate to have had him in her life and I hope she appreciated him. I know he truly loved her and knew her better than anyone. I also know he loved Daniel and does love Dannielynn and is looking out for her as he always looked out for Anna. I think Howard has a heart of gold and has been so wronged by so many.
As I’ve just stated, I don’t care for the lifestyle of these celebrities, but that’s neither here not there. I still blame Larry for starting all of this. He’s the one who sought fame. I watched him playing up to the cameras every chance he got. I NEVER dislike anyone without good reason and Larry gave me plenty. And I DON’T hate him. Hate was your word, not mine.
I had forgotten that Anna was a bunny and didn’t realize that until after I had already posted that. But that doesn’t change anything.
NO! It really ISN’T about Larry being the bio dad. I can’t believe that some of you people are still harping about that. This isn’t about that at all, so you can get THAT through your head right now. I can’t believe you even said that. Geeeesh.

I don’t think you have to explain yourself to anyone. Your opinions are yours and people are going to agree and/or disagree. I agree most of the time. We, that have posted on here for sometime, know you are a Howard supporter as we are, so that’s all that needs to be explained. We want what’s best for him and that is for him to kick ass, wherever the boot takes him. We stand firmly with him to do whatever it takes to make sure justice prevails for him.

Hate to burst your bubble dear, but Larry was NOT a celebrity photographer!! He was trying to get famous any way he could. First, it was “Journalism” (& the lies about college)-what a joke!! Or, maybe the nose job was first. Anyway, he used to hang outside the Barnstable Brown party with a camera b/c someone told him he may be able to get in that way. Btw, he is the joke of Hollywood, just as he was in Kentucy. THAT is why he doesn’t go home…

Debra Opri was singing your praises as long as it was in her interest to do so. Once she realized that you are not willing to be her puppet, she turned on you. Predators tend to do that, and I’m glad you have a sense of humor about it. As far as I’m concerned, no longer having Opri’s stamp of approval only enhances your credibility.
The Opri/Birkhead dispute may ultimately result in jury nullification, wherein the jurors choose to ignore the law and instead do what they think is right. This opinion is based upon Opri’s facially ludicrous billing practices, as well as her comments about Birkhead given that attorney/client privilege belongs to the client.
Jurors are undoubtedly going to view Opri and her case with great suspicion, as well they should, which is why she wanted binding arbitration instead. While jurors cannot be specifically instructed regarding their nullification right, it is not uncommon for them to exercise it, as has been repeatedly recognized by the US Supreme Court.
