I can only hope that some closure comes to Mrs. Arthur. I read your column every day, and it seems so biased. Howard K Stern, was an enabler at best. Now his “buddy” Larry is taking on the same “grifter” role. No one will ever know the WHOLE truth in this matter, but the world is Not as full of STUPID people, that the media thinks. Howard, didn’t STOP Anna, or Daniel from hurting themselves, as he claims happened. I BELIEVE Howard had a lot more to do with the addiction of Anna, then he professes. I mean C’mon, the drugs that brought about the deaths of The Smiths, were in Howards name! Where’s his responsibility for HIS prescription medication? Possibly the Hattens of this world? Did he once mention Daniels name in his little diatribe? He did mention Howards name, of course he did, how could a Virgie lawyer not do that? This is an inquest into finding out the truth on how Daniel died not a photo op for a mouthpiece and especially one coming from Camp Virgie.

When Mr. Shelley releases the FULL, UNEDITED and UNTAMPERED with “clown” video” to the proper authorities and it shows that he was in fact right all along about Howard Stern, not only will I flip on Stern, I’ll write an a very heart felt apologize letter to Mr. Shelley. And mean it.

While I haven’t decided what Virgie’s exact motives are I would like to think that her action is purely out of desire to bring closure to this situation. Additionally, Howard’s presence in this process has been notably absent ever since he was fighting for as many delays and detours in the process as possible.This strikes me as very suspicious and gives me the even more depressing idea that he’s more concerned with his meritless claim to the Marshall money than he is at settling the death of a boy with which he appeared to have a close relationship.

Just as I was having a good feeling about the Inquest procedings, I read the following:
Attorneys representing those interested parties will be allowed to question witnesses called by Director of Public Prosecutions Bernard Turner.
Following the death of Ms Smith, Mr. Stern reportedly became the next witness with the most interaction with Daniel before he died.
Larry Birkhead – Dannielynn’s father – has asked to testify.

Virgie Arthur Lawyer, Neil McCabe, Acused of Rape
Did you know that Neil McCabe used to be a professor at the Texas College of Law and while there was taken to court by a student named Kimberly Fredericks for acusations of rape?
According to what I have read, Ms. Fredericks claims that Neil McCabe “forced her to have sex with him…Brutally and forcibly sodomized her when se was “bad”.” The court document states that he was viewed as a sexual predator by his collegues. Oh… and he was married at the time too.

He won’t be so pleased when the Bahamian government finds out they are working without a work permit if they are.LOL maybe they have a Bahamian PI working for them since Brown couldn’t come up with anything or geraldos brother either.Time will tell.I would hope that the Coroner would ask for proof especially after Brown dissed the Bahamian attorneys on national Television.I am sure many of the people there already know that Vergie IMO is in her poor grandma mode at this time.

South Texas College of Law is one of three law schools in the Houston area (the University of Houston Law Center and Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law are the others) and the only private institution of the three. It has always been an interesting school. It is on the east side of downtown Houston and thus, close to many major businesses. As a result, it has catered to many businesspeople who decide to study law to supplement their business expertise. Particularly over the past couple of decades, it has produced many fine lawyers in the Houston legal community.
Well, it now looks like that STCL has produced its first bonafide soap opera. This Chronicle article reports on a rather nasty federal lawsuit against SCTL that accuses former STCL criminal law professor, Neil McCabe of forcing a former student to have sex, sodomizing her and threatening to share her sexually with other faculty members.
Now, while not condoned by most law schools, dalliances between law school professors and their students are not all that unusual. This one may have been a bit steamier than most. But who do you call to defend this kind of lawsuit? One of Houston’s many fine defense attorneys? Perhaps an old law school colleague? What’s Dick DeGuerin of of the Joseph Durst murder case fame up to these days?
Turns out that the above-described federal lawsuit was filed after McCabe’s wife filed a state court defamation lawsuit against McCabe’s former student earlier this year. McCabe’s wife apparently wrote a letter earlier this year to the attorney representing the former student threatening to proceed with the defamation lawsuit unless the former student rescinded her threat to sue. According to the Chronicle report, the letter said in part “If she thought we were bluffing, we assume she has been disabused of that notion. If she does not want to expose herself, her family and friends to discovery, she must do as requested.”
Well, it sure appears that tactic didn’t work.
At any rate, the accusations against McCabe led the STCL faculty to vote last year to recommend that the STCL board of directors strip McCabe of his tenure. The federal lawsuit alleges that STCL college officials “were aware of McCabe’s nature as a sexual predator of his female students.” The lawsuit claims discrimination and harassment under Title IX and seeks damages from both STCL and McCabe.
McCabe began teaching at STCL in 1983 and is a reasonably well-known legal commentator on criminal law issues in local media circles. He is the author of a couple of books and several law review articles on criminal law issues. Among other things, the federal lawsuit accuses McCabe of:
Taking advantage of the former student and undertaking a “campaign of control and manipulation” of the former student “under the guise of helping her with her personal and family problems;”
Becoming the former student’s mentor, arranging special treatment at the law school for her and securing a cush part-time job for the former student at a law firm where another professor worked (its not clear what’s wrong with that);
Forcing the former student to have sex, often in his office, and “brutally and forcibly” sodomizing her when she was `bad.’ ” (the lawsuit is a little fuzzy on this whole “good-bad” notion); and
Suggesting at one point that he would force the former student “to have sex with other” STCL professors and officials.
That last allegation is probably getting a fair amount of play with McCabe’s former STCL colleagues.
At any rate, look for STCL to settle this matter as quietly as possible. As for whether former Professor McCabe settles before trial, you will have to ask his lawyer, er, I mean, his wife.
Correction: My original post indicated that Mrs. McCabe was representing Mr. McCabe in the federal lawsuit, which is not the case. Mr. McCabe’s wife represents him only in the state case, not the federal case. Also, although Mr. McCabe has commented publicly on the Calvin Burdine murder case, he was not involved in representing Mr. Burdine on appeal in that case.

In my house we joke around about many things and take not too nice pictures sometimes. No problem. In 5 short lines you have summed up the reason for this whole saga and the cause of one person’s death. Since Larry along with his DO started the decline of Anna’s health issues. Not that it was intentional. Just a dumb azz boy who listened to what he was thinking was a sharp attorney.
Sure Anna was heartbroken and that too helped her decline, would she have been so weakened had all the lawsuits and accusations not been in play.

It helps my feelings to go to Greta’s wire and ask her why she doesn’t ask the hard questions of her guest, airing stolen video, promoting sex offenders and everything I can think of,,,just to get it off my chest :-)I have also told her why she doesn’t even out her guest views and have people(like Art) to tell Howard’s side. Since the next court date is November 19 you can be sure that HKS and his attorney’s will be digging for information to show that Virgie, Billy Smith and their attorney have no right to participate in the proceedings of the inquest. They may have anticipated Virgie’s actions and been working on it for months. HKS is an attorney and he has plenty of time to research the estate and inheritance laws of Texas and the Bahamas. He’s probably working on this day and night. The more research he does the less time his attorneys can bill him for.
Virgie and Billy Smith had nothing to do with Daniel when he was growing up. Billy Smith hasn’t been involved in this case except in FL when Virgie’s attorneys called him as a witness by phone and it backfired on them. I think he told Judge Seidlin that he worked in construction but hadn’t been working much. He may have worked more after the weather warmed up. Did Virgie dangle the proverbial carrot ($$$$) in front of him or did she guilt him into getting involved. Virgie has pulled Billy Smith into this somehow. Why wasn’t Billy Smith at the inquest? It would have been a great opportunity for Splash to get an exclusive with Billy Smith and his attendance at the inquest. Especially since Billy Smith has stayed out of the media. The money Splash would have paid him would have paid his expenses to the Bahamas and he would probably have had money left over. Maybe Billy Smith isn’t interested in making money from Daniel’s death. Maybe Virgie had to use guilt on him.

Can’t you find someone who can check out where Mr. Arthur has been? Has anyone seen Mr. Arthur in the media with Virgie since Larry brought Dannielynn home.? It would appear that Mr. Arthur isn’t supporting his wife when it involves her activities related to the ANS saga. Could it be that Mr. Arthur is a decent man who doesn’t approve of what Virgie is doing.?
I feel bad for Mr. Arthur if he had no idea what a vile woman his wife was until now.
If there is anyone out there who lives in the same county as Virgie or nearby you can check to see if Virgie or her husband has filed for a divorce. Divorce filings are a matter of public record. All you have to do is go to the court house and ask to see the divorces filed from May 1, 2007 to the present. I can’t remember if the records are in the Circuit Court Clerk’s office or The County Court Clerk’s office.

Hmm: I do know that Larry’s family are longtime friends of the SC gang. That is how Anna was introduced to them, through Larry. I believe Shelley and Thompson took Anna to the Bahamas maybe so they could do what they did do and that was to try to buy that house. They used her. I believe I read this on this site in one of Art’s articles a good while ago. Thompson isn’t allowed to own any property in the Bahamas. But anyway they put the house in Anna’s name and I guess they figured she’d then sign it over to them in some way, or possibly, (IMO), just give them the deed or whatever. I think that may have been what they were looking for when they broke in to Horizons.
I do know they were using Anna to get that house they weren’t allowed to own to begin with. I may be a bit fuzzy on some of these things. It’s been awhile since I’ve read this stuff, but you get the gist of it.

I don’t watch her on TV, because I can’t stand her and what she has been trying to do to Howard, but I did go to her site when I had seen it posted somewhere, and told her what I thought of her and her antics, lol. Joy: I agree with your post. As far as that clown video and things that Howard said in it, I’ve always told my three grown sons, they have a really weird sense of humor. I think alot of young guys do.
They say stuff all the time and get a good laugh out of it, even though they know it shouldn’t be laughed about, but that’s their sense of humor. They also know I’ll not like the things they say, but I do know they are joking even though it’s not my idea of a joke. I guess it’s a guy thing, lol.
Anyway, I think people are making too much out of things that I can tell, Howard said jokingly. These people would really have alot to say if they heard some of the things my kids joke about. I just give them a little smile and shake my head, lol. It does no good to get upset over it, lol. I’m used to it.

I am eagerly awaiting for the day when Greta’s puzzling behavior is clarified. I want to know why she has been so hard on Howard, why she does not acknowledge the receipt (publicly) of e-mails admonishing her. Why be so cruel to Howard? Where does it get her? Does she have to play dirty in order to be employed? Is her immediate supervisor sadistic? Is she? Is this all an act in order to gather materials for a horror movie? Does she despise her husband or just a certain type of man?
As for Shelley, is his brain fried? Maybe he ought to switch to cigarettes with filter, as the poisonous nicotine has robbed him of the ability to distinguish right from wrong. What is the deal with allowing him to admit to being a thief and not doing anything about it. The authorities are investigating. Yes, I am sure they are. Were they not able to read his lips when he admitted on TV to taking the loot from the Horizons?
As for the majority of the TMZ bloggers, the most vicious ones accuse anyone who does not trash Howard to be a “paid blogger”. Are they, the ones getting paid in Texas coins?
So many inexplicable actions by so many remind me of the egg in the frying pan commercial on what happens to the mind when it is wasted on drugs.
Billy Smith is probably now enjoying the kind of mother-in-law he wished he had when he was 17 and married to Anna. What gives Virgie the strength to carry so much venom? That is a heavy load.

Art forgot to add, if by some remote chance Virgie has a POA from Billy Smith to act for Daniel, is there any way possible to find out if any charges can be brought about for Team Stupid taking advantage of a mentally challenged person.
As we that watched the Fl trial Billy was on the phone with the Judge sounding like he could care less and saying Anna should be buried with Daniel. What has changed since then?
Texas has some harsh laws when it comes to taking advantage of the elderly and the mentally challenged.
One more thing, is there any truth to Billy working on cars for John O’Quinn?

I want Larry to be the best dad to Dannielynn that he can be, but he was the s**t starter here. That’s really all behind us right now, but he needs to help Howard however he can. He may be doing just that. I hope he is. As long as Howard receives justice from all of this mess, I don’t care who helps or doesn’t help. I just want to see him win and whatever we can do to help him, we will do.

To get the nine year-old involved as a “witness” should get the authorities breathing down the SC creep’s neck. That child would be better off away from that family of hers. To Clipper no 40, I do not think you understand,the real true depression Anna felt over what her Mother,going on TV and calling her and Howard murderers did to her,blaming her for her son,s death. The court cases Anna could have handled with Howard by her side,I CANNOT EXPRESS,THIS ENOUGH, IT IS WHAT PARENTS DO TO THERE CHILDREN,NO MATTER HOW ROTTEN THE PARENTS ARE,CHILDREN ARE LOOKING FOR THERE LOVE,Also you would be surprised what not eating right can do to you,that also can cause depression,I happen to think,it is a sin,the way young people are made to feel. Joni I really know or at least think I know why the SC clan moved her there.I just wanted to point out that some thins don’t make sense and people should take things with a grain of salt when they don’t.I would hope anyone that has found old articles about ANS and her life with Billy Smith,her so called mother, her Aunt, cousin Shelly,Anna helped you when you needed it Shelly, and the years before and just after Marshall passed away would keep or forward to Krista,Lin or someone that might need to know that information.

#59 @ Beverly, I do know the desperation Anna was going thru, all too well. Know the need to keep the childhood abuse quite as well. Know what it is like to have a mother that has no soul. Know what it is like having a mother drag you by the hair beating you with a belt in you late teen years. Know what it is like not having a family to turn too. Some of us put those years behind others cannot. Guess this is why Anna and her story is near and dear to my heart.
The one thing learned is never assume you know how another person thinks or reacts.

I am a 63 year old women and come from a very large family that was considered poor even though we had our own home,so many children.After reading some of these posts I just want to give everyone,even Gidget a group hug.I also grew up in an era of keeping things at home and not telling.Sometimes it takes something like what VA did to bring the hurt out.I had not known she had the media at her service,no wonder she wanted ANS in Texas.

To those who may be concerned about Billy Smith’s parental rights being trampled on, be aware that in the state where I lived when my children were growing up, if a parent had no contact with a child for three years, it was considered abandonment. No contact means none in any way. I had my ex’s rights legally terminated when the kids were in grammar school. The only time my ex decided to contact one of the children to ask why the child did not visit him, was when that child became a flight attendant for an international carrier. It looks like somebody needed to fly for free. It did not work!

I might be going down the wrong path,but it seems to be Ford Shelly is the common thread,along with Virgie,that has caused Howard,s problems,FS,stole from the horizons,FS was at the hospital a day before danniel died,FS DAUGHTER WAS AT THE CLOWN PARTY, and he is playing it up big.and FS is on rivera show,playing like he is doing a good thing for everyone.FS also had pills in his home for Anna,could it be FS wanted himself,with Anna in the Horizons,and Howard out,You cannot have a lawyer around if you are going to use the house,for drug smuggling.Howard being around,was a bad thing for GBT AND FS.

Virgie made NO EFFORT to stay in contacted with her “beloved” ADULT grandson while he was alive but can arrange to have a photographer around while she throws herself on his grave or “cries” holding a Bible. She alleges that he wouldn’t harm himself or do drugs. How would she know-she hadn’t seen or talked to him in years. Daniel not only was a 20 yr college student-he grew up around “pills aren’t drugs-a doctor prescribed them” example of his mother He wasn’t six anymore. None of the meds in his system were toxic in doses-it was the interaction effect that killed him. Why do people assume the someone “killed” this young man by sneaking him drugs? Most likely he picked up a bottle or two and helped himself or told him mom he hurt or was jetlagged and she handed him one or two capsules. Why would Howard want to publically mention either of these scenarios? Virgie Arthur is scum-tabloids are paying for all her “appearances grief performances clothes hotels flights and makeovers” People and GVS are defaming Howard re the Marshall suit. Check the facts-he isn’t a co-plaintiff-he is an attorney of record and has a contract entitling him to six percent as a fee. That is peanuts-most civil attorneys start at 25 to 33% plus expenses and 50% if it goes to trial. This is not a loving grandma-this is a greedy manipulative narcissitic vicious woman with a dismal marital and childrearing track record. She’ll do and say anything for a buck or a photo op including selling her daughter and grandchildren in life and death. The bizarre footage of her frenetically shovelling dirt on Anna and then stomping on her grave speaks for itself.
