Don Clark on Geraldo: Is he telling the truth?

To hear ex-FBI Agent Don Clark tell it, two Haitian nannies who worked for Anna Nicole told him how the late Playboy centerfold used to pile up in bed at Horizons and watch a gay sex tape of Larry Birkhead and Howard Stern.
“One of the Nanny’s did the talking and said, Anna enjoyed watching these videos in bed during the day and would laugh about them,” he said on Fox’s Greta Van Susteren Show Thursday. He never did see the tape, though.
But reps for the Nannies say he’s lying.
Nannies PR man, Lincoln Bain, aka, Mr. Controvery, takes his best shot!
“He brought it up when he met with the Nannies in April,” recalled Lincoln Bain, their PR man when we spoke Monday, “implying they knew something about Larry and Howard being gay. He asked, ‘Did they have a relationship?’ But the Nannies refused to answer.”
How the flagrante scene wound up in Cosby’s book is still baffling, and will be part of the focus of discovery in the $60 million libel suit Howard K. Stern has filed against Cosby and her publlisher.
For now, Clark denies he was a source, and claims he never knew Cosby was writing a book until after it came out. Cosby admits she never spoke with the Nannies while writing the book, though she tried desperately to confirm their story after it was published, flying down to the Bahamas Saturday with her boyfriend, Tom Bednarak, and a checkbook.
According to hours of secret tapes made by Bain, at the request of the lawyer for the Nannies, the plan as it emerged from those taped conversations was to let Rita’s beau, Tom, dangle a $15,000 magazine deal in exchange for meeting the nannies, and extract an after the fact affidavit that her reporting was solid.
Only the plot never got that very far, and when attorney Elizabeth Thompson gave the word, reporters burst from their hiding place in the next room. “It was like to catch a predator,” said Thompson, comparing her amateur sting to the popular NBC show.

So DC knew nothing about the book? The question should be…How could he not know? Who was his boss? Do we know why he left the FBI? Just curious questions.
Also I read somewhere that Rita’s lawyer is Mickey Sherman (of the Martha Moxley case). Is Mickey Sherman’s wife Lis Wheil…Fox New’s Legal Analyst? I read that on another blog.

In their statement, the nannies said they spoke to a private investigator that they believe works for Virgie Arthur’s attorney (O’Quinn). Gee, that sounds exactly like Don Clark. What other PI is there that works for O’Quinn? Jack Harding? I don’t think so.
I also found it interesting to note that Don Clark says he spoke with the nannies in May, but Lincoln Bain says it happened in April. And, by coincidence (yeah right), the nannies went on Controversy TV accusing Howard of a bunch of things in April. Clark also says that the nannies wanted money to talk, but he would not pay so the deal was called off. Is he sure about that? Hmmmm. You know, I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but I think the picture is becoming a little clearer now.

IF DON CLARK KNEW HE WAS GOING TO THE BAHAMAS,AS A FORMER FBI AGENT,HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN ENOUGH ,TO GET AUTHORIZATION FOR ANY STATEMENTS MADE TO HIM,YOU KNOW THAT STATEMENT( GET IT IN WRITTING)HE STATED. Actually I disagree Art. I taped Greta’s show from last night and I understood Mr. Clark to say that he did not know Rita was writing a book, that he was not the source for the book, and essentially that he met with the nannies and one did the talking while the other nodded and he felt if was unsavory (my word) so he left it at that. So why would this unsavory morsel then become the centerpiece of Rita’s book?
IMO it is because Clark cant leave Rita hanging out to dry but doesn’t want to lie so he is taking the miniscule amount of middle ground he can find.
Rita is SOL on this and I find it interesting that I have not seen her on TV the past couple days.
Has anyone else seen Rita giving her side of the tapes with Lincoln Bain and Elizabeth Thompson? Both of them are happy to show their faces. Where is Rita???

I really find it hard to believe Don Clark didn’t know Cosby was writing this book. I knew it because she announced months ago that she was. In the book, she said the nannies told this to private “investigators”–plural, not one. Don Clark said the nannies told him, but he’s not Rita’s source. That makes no sense. If they had said that, why didn’t the investigators taped it, or video record it, or have them sign an affidavit, especially since they didn’t have the alleged video?
Bain is now saying that Clark tried to put those words into the nannies mouths when he spoke with them. Even though I don’t think Bain is the most credible of people, it does make sense. Cosby keeps on harping that the nannies and Hatten don’t know each other but are making the same claim. That’s really parsing the truth. They may not know each other but they are connected. They’ve had 3 attorneys, Pro Printer, Deborah Rose (Virgie’s attorney) and now Thompson.
The nannies were at one point talking on mr. controversy about Anna saying she wanted to be buried in Texas. Bain then made the comment about them having the same lawyer as Virgie (It’s on one of his past videos when they were recanting some things in the affidavitt Shelley paid them to sign.)
I remember during the custody hearing in BA the NE story about Larry being gay came out. Larry said he thought Virgie was behind it.
It does seem to me that the Virgie camp has been trying to spin the gay thing right along. All these people are interconnected. The nannies, Virgie, O’Quinn, Don Clark, Jackie Hatten,and Cosby are all connected. I’m not a big conspiracy theorist, but this has all the earmarks of one.

I can’t imagine that someone so close to the investigation would not know that the book was coming out. The book received so much press well before it was released that it’s hard to imagine that anyone didn’t know about it, let alone someone who admittedly had been involved in “investigating” Howard & Larry. Maybe he was at the North Pole without internet or tv for months before the release or lost at sea or something??? I can’t think of how else he would have missed the pre-release press.

I watched Mr. Clark on Greta’s show last night and didn’t believe a word he said, especially, the “not knowing Rita was writing a book.” He can proclaim his ex-FBI credentials all he wants, but in my opinion he lied.
Rita needs to come clean and admit she got caught up with shady characters, O’Quinn, Virgie, Opri, Hatten, Speers etc. and lost her way as an objective journalist. She allowed them to use her and the sooner she understands this the better and maybe salvage some kind of reputation that will benefit her. Too bad! It amazes me she allowed herself to get in this position in the first place.

TMZ has learned that the California Department of Justice began serving search warrants Friday in connection with the death of Anna Nicole Smith. One was served this morning at the home of Anna’s psychiatrist, Dr. Khristine Eroshevich, and we’re told Howard K. Stern was actually there at the time!
We’re told that eight warrants were served altogether, and may be connected to the Department’s investigation of Dr. Eroshevich. Sources say the warrants were served at several businesses connected to Anna’s doctors and at a storage facility.

I do NOT understand WHY it matters if the nannies said this or not about Larry/Howard.
The fact is that they have NO credibility. I heard them with Lincoln on his show during the spring and they were all over the place. Pro Pinder stopped being their attorney because they wanted to sell their story – and their stories were not consistent.
A journalist with integrity does NOT RELY on such a shaky story and then publish a book that is intended to ruin lives! If Rita didn’t SEE the video and didn’t even try to solidly PROVE the esistance of the tape, then she is not worth much.
It does NOT matter what the nannies and Lincoln Bain say or don’t say. Lincoln, “Mr. Controversy,” is in the business of CONTROVERSY, yet Rita acted like he is some stupid fool. So funny when she kept saying, “I like you, Lincoln. I want to help you.” And then said the same about the nannies.
The truth is RITA wanted to BUY some credibility.

She also made the remark “I don’t have a good opinion of Howard K. Stern, but if he will come talk to me I might change my opinion.” She’s sounding like O’Reilly…maybe Fox has a script that all the “bullies” are required to follow.

The bottom line is 1.) Rita did NOT speak to the nannies, prior to publishing her book, yet she cites them repeatedly as her sources.
2) Don Clark insists he never spoke to Rita, and did NOT know of her writing a book until publication,and was not a source for information pertaining to the nannies, yet Rita is trying to claim him as a source, through Virgie and John O’Quinn, most likely.
3)Last but not least, we have Jackie Hatten, who was never in the Bahamas until after Daniel died, and NEVER met Larry Birkhead.
I’m surely certain the tape Rita gave you Friday is NOT a conversation between herself and any of her alleged sources. Lincoln Bain never saw or claimed to see anything! Whatever he says is hearsay at best, which is NOT accepted as evidence in a court of law. Rita sure did research this book like the professional journalist she pretends to be.
Rita Cosby has been a reporter for decades. She knows what it means to research a story and vet her sources. In choosing not to do so, she displayed willful negligence and intentional malice. If this were not true, she wouldn’t be panic and crazed now, trying to bribe people into writing affidavits and giving testimony for something they never told her. Rita didn’t want the truth: she wanted a best-seller.

I watched coverage of the recent events in the Bahamas concerning Rita Cosby & Lincoln Bain on several news stations, also Howard on Larry King live, and in the near past the coverage of the book signing party with O’Quinn, Virgie, etc. I certainly trust and believe Cyril Wecht and Dr. Perper, but I find it unbelievable what some of the others say and the irresponsibility of the newstations that allow this. This information goes around the world and destroys individual’s reputations. For example, on Fox News with Greta and on Showbiz Tonight, it was reported that Howard was at the house when Dr. Eroshevich was served with a search warrant. Jane Valez-Mitchell made the comment that something nefarious must be going on (Showbix Tonight). Mrs. Gibson (Dannielynn’s former nannie in the Bahamas) was also at the house at the time and a maid. It was not even mentioned that they were there. Why is this? It certainly sounds less salacious with that information, doesn’t it? Mrs. Gibson was certainly the best for Dannielynn, God Bless her, but it really disgusts me that the worst slant possible is given to anything involving Howard. It was the same on Greta’s show. All the panel who said that they would rather defend Rita in a lawsuit are now changing their tune, but it was the same thing. It was mentioned that Howard was at the house, but no one else was mentioned. Howard was picking up his dogs. Anna had lived next to Dr. Erosevich in the Studio City home now occupied by Larry Birkhead and Dannielynn. They were obviously friends. Dr. Erosevich was in the Bahamas for months with her friend Anna. Mrs. Gibson was taking care of Dannielynn also. I’m sure they were all friends. I am so sick of the irresponsible reporting of some of these news stations and I hope Howard is granted millions for their irresponsible reporting.

I don’t care if she said she was set up or not, she was willing to pay them under the table and then lie about it if she had to go to court. She was back pedaling after the fact. She was trying to cover her butt. She made sure ever show she was on she talk about this guy meeting but didn’t see the tape and then said the nannie’s knew about it. So i guess that was enough for her to go and print her lies. I hope Art can print the phone tape of Greta show lastnight so I could read it. Greta went so fase i had trouble reading it.

Are these the same 2 Nannies that claimed Ford Shelley paid them to lie about Anna and Howard? So many people want to paint Howard as the bad guy and he is NOT. I do believe he loved Anna and would never hurt her in anyway. I also believe that his only interest now is Dannylynn and her future. Most of the players in this soga are only interested in money or 15 minutes on TV. Larry seems to be a devoted father and is and will take care of Dannylynn.
Virgie was never a mother to Anna, or a Grandmother to Daniel. She is not interested in being a Grandmother to Dannylynn all she wants is money and keep her face in the news. Anna and Daniel’s death were by their own drug habits and the doctors to eager to write perscriptions.
I think alot of the rumors were started by Ford Shelley if the truth be known. SO where is he now, probably sitting back watching the mess he started with all the stuff he stole from the Horizons.

Don Clark says he is not the source for Rita’s book.
She says her source is an investigator who went to the Bahamas. The Bahama nannies says Clark spoke to them. So, that leaves me with the thought that Clark told O’Quinn and O’Quinn told Rita. Perhaps O’Quinn and Clark should be put on the stand in the suit against Rita.
Don’t ever think that O’Quinn is a dumb bunny. His strategy
is to give the impression that he is, so that his opponents will underestimate him. He is a student of psychology.
According to an article I read (attached to his bio on Wikipedia.com) and is an article from the Houston Chronicle years back, quoting some of his fellow lawyers, that he was in the process of jury selection on a case of a farmer who had lost his bull due to pesticide poisoning. He was very careful to question the possible jury members as to whether they were animal lovers. Using that phychology, he won an 8 million dollar award for the man’s bull.
That may not be of interest to some, but It interested me.

Just finished watching Geraldo at large Sunday edition, and sparks were flying between Don Clark and the Bahamian woman attorney regarding the nannies.
It appears things are starting to look bad for Don Clark.
One of the important aspects of the argument was Don Clark when down to the Bahamas on September 11, 2007 and held a meeting with six locals, some how the issue of money came up, and appears to be a shake down, so he flew back to the States.
However, by his own admissions, he realized he was dealing with some scrupulous people in the Bahamas, but continues to take their phone calls up to early October and never recorded a single conversation.
At the end of the show, even your friend Judge Jeannine Shapiro concur with Geraldo that Lincoln Bain and the attorney were more credible than Mr. Clark was!

Lavone.You are right about o’quin playing dumb.I read the dpo and remember o’quinn saying he did not use a computer or some such but anothe attorney that was there mayed a point of showing o’quinn a blackberry and laughing about it. I am sure Lin Wood causht that.

Whoever the PI that went to rhe bahamas,was(I THINK DON CLARK) that was a important piece of information,,(WHY) did the person not think of recording the nannies,SOMEONE IS LIEING.Any one can now say,anything.there seems to be a lot of recording going around,where is the most important one.Also I think it is time to tackle hatten comments,lets make her prove what she said..believe me,most DR,s have to keep records of all narcotics .dispensed.this is not new.

I suppose since Rita is bold enough to print allegations with no verification she is also bold enough to try and buy corroboration in broad daylight. She was totally outsmarted by this bahamian lawyer and the tape of her being caught pleading to give the nannies $15K for their confirmation is totally pathetic, her book should absolutely be pulled off the shelves. There are enough baseless claims in this saga (i.e. Anna’s past, and what will be Larry’s future claims to any money from the Marshall family) and there don’t need to be any supplemental ones from third parties.

Another note on that Don Clark,he says he’s not the source, but I saw Mickey Sherman, Rita’s lawyer on tv saying that Rita relied on a former FBI agent of 25 years. Don Clark is that agent, I don’t give a flip what he says. When the rubber meets the road, his ass will be bumped.

I just ‘opened all tabs’ on my YouTube bookmarks and it sounded like an old Beatles tune…I think it was something about ‘number 9,’ too.

Oh, by the way I was referring to ‘number 9′ on a different ‘thread,’ not rose…
And, if anyone cares…I only, mostly have ever visited and commented on 3 internet sites. Rose’s, although they smell nice and look pretty, is not one of the 3.
