The Bald Truth has obtained billionaire Texas lawyer John O’Quinn’s blast back in the defamation suit filed against him by Anna Nicole Smith executor Howard K. Stern, an 11 page great ball of fire that argues Florida has zip jurisdiction over the mighty Texan and should kick Stern and his whiney complaint to the curb.

It’s all about the J word, he argues as a defendant filing a reply Thursday in federal court in Florida, where Stern has sued him for defamation for trashing him on talk shows as a “murderer.” Stern’s pitbull, lawyer Lin Wood, says JOq should pay big time for stepping waaaaaaay over the line.

It sort of reminds us of some greaser high school flick, high noon in the halls. Only now, they’re all grown up, and it’s about money.

“It sounds like high school,” Susan Brown, one of Birkhead’s Florida lawyers, told me. “It’s tit for tat. He sued me, now I’m gonna sue you back.’”

Brown was part of Birkhead’s Florida Dream Team, with attorney Nancy Hass, and Opri directing the show.

In a late night call, Debra phoned to say she didn’t understand how “why Larry was doing this,” and how it had escalated to this flash point.” Without elaborating, she added, “I just wish he would pay his bill.”

“It’s such a shame,” says Brown, who did get paid. “Larry’s getting attacked by a lot of jealous people and he’s been a great Dad. He stepped up to the plate. You can see how much he loves that baby. I’m troubled by all this.”

Check out a new shot fired over the Stern bow by lawyer John O’Quinn who wants the federal judge in Florida to wave a 48 page motion limit so he can unload in his response to defamation charges filed by Howard K. Stern. Apparently, the celebrated billionaire lawyer needs lots of paper to explore the “complex” issues.

We can hear the judge now: “Keep it short, Texas, we like our trees.”

Almost a year after the original date set for a Bahamas inquest into the death of Anna Nicole Smith’s son, Daniel, the removal of two coronors for yakking to the press and a cloud hanging over a judicial system that rarely allows questioning jurors for bias, it’s inquest time again.

That’s right, saddle up, padnah! Yet a third coroner, William Campbell, will ride into a Nassau courtroom Oct. 30, to preside over an official death probe of Daniel Wayne Smith, 20, the centerfold’s son who died from a toxic brew of two anti-depressants and methadone, according to a respected pathologist the estate hired to perform an autopsy, Cyril Wecht. He tells me his findings point to an accidental overdose.

In the wake of his death, and the eerie accidental overdose of his mother, Bahamas investigators have interviewed dozens of people, from Nassau to California, about the death of what friends tell me was a happy, but recently troubled young man, who died at Doctor’s Hospital Sept. 10, 2006, while staying in the room with his mother and newborn half-sister, Dannielynn. Lawrenceville, Ga., Sept. 23–Accused “Mansion Madam” Lisa Taylor, awaiting trial for allegedly running a brothel out of her million dollar home in this conservative Atlanta suburb, is behind bars again, charged with felony drug possession after a patrol officer pulled over a truck she was riding in Friday and found tranquilizers, an anti-depressant and cocaine.She did not appear at a magistrate’s hearing Sunday morning inside the Gwinnett County Detention Center, where a judge denied her bond request and set October 3 in Superior court as a date when he can ask again.Her attorney, Max Richardson, said she would plead not guilty, and prepared to fight what he expects will be a request from the Gwinnett County district attorney to have her $27,000 bond revovoked in the brothel case, which also include drug possession charges.Housed in the medical unit, Taylor was also fighting a jailhouse move to shave her head over hair extensions some considered a “security risk,” But Richardson insisted a shaved head would irreparably harm her entertainment career as a “dancer,” and the judge barred the jailhouse makeover for now.

Groupie in a suit snaps O.J., Gets Caught

We couldn’t help noticing a hand with a cell phone in front of the pool camera as O.J. Simpson walked out of court and back to his cell after a judge set his bail at $125,000.

Watch as the cell phone holder aims the camera at O.J. He’s wearing a gray suit and white shirt. OJ walks past in cuffs. click. Is he a court official? Is he an undercover Papparazzo in a suit, snapping pop culture history as Simpson hobbles past, in cuffs.

In fact, after we put up this video, showing the O.J. groupie in a suit, quickly take the picture then pocket his cell phone, Clark County officials wrote Simpson’s attorneys apologizing for inappropriate behaviour by one of their employees. A somber O.J. Simpson hears the conditions of his $125,000 bail on Wednesday in Las Vegas.

He must surrender his passport to his attorney, and have “no contact whatsoever,” said the judge, “with any co-defendants named in his case, witnesses named or any other potential witnesses.”

“Do you understand that order?” asked the judge.

“Yessir,” said Simpson.

The Bald Truth has learned South Carolina developer G. Ben Thompson has snubbed the Bahamian Supreme Court yet again, skipping his third hearing in a row in the Horizons contempt case that could put him behind bars if convicted.

But the contempt case against him went on, with the judge hearing evidence he allegedly violated a court injunction protecting the right of Anna Nicole Smith to live undisturbed in the house Thompson claimed he owned, until the title fight was settled in court.

His attorney, Godfrey Pro Pinder, no longer allowed to represent Thompson because he’s a defendant as well, showed up to defend himself, in a lawsuit that charges they both violated court injunctions protecting Smith’s right to live in Horizons. Read the rest of this entry »

O.J Simpson Enters Court in Handcuffs for Bail Hearing

In a world wide web exclusive, The Bald Truth has learned celeb hustler Tom Riccio sold six minutes of an enraged O.J. Simpson cursing and threatening two men he suspected of stealing his memorabilia, backed up by gun-toting goons, to the popular website, TMZ.com, for a tidy $150,000.

“They wanted to break the tapes, and I agreed to give them an exclusive for two days,” he told me. “They wanted the hotel room tape, but I’ve got lots more.”
