Anna Nicole Update: Florida Investigators Follow the Drugs & the $$
Everything was going so smoothly this morning, as I sat with the unflappable Dr. Perper in his office and learned that the body was ready to move. All the required health papers had been filled out and filed; bureaucratic wranglings with Bahamian authorites and funeral homes were done. All that was left was for the embalmers to come in for a couple of hours before liftoff to dress the former Playboy centerfold in her favorite designer white dress, do her makeup then pack her in a very expensive casket for the flight to be buried next to her beloved son, Daniel.
“She looks very beautiful,” Dr. Perper was saying, reflecting on her display several days ago at the morgue when he set up an impromptu and very rare viewing for family members: Howard K. Stern, Larry Birkhead and Mom Virgie Arthur. They all came at separate times and there were kneeling benches so anyone who wanted to could pray near the casket.
An hour after leaving his office, I called the 4th Circuit, and learned it had granted a temporary stay to Virgie Arthur. Her daughter’s body was going nowhere fast. I called Dr. P. who seemed taken aback, then recovered. “I have no personal stake,” he told me. “I’m just here to do what the court tells me.”
As for the body’s condition, every day was a risk of more deterioration, he said. Beyond that, he was waiting for final toxicology tests, and to interview Anna’s bodyguard, Big Mo, and his wife, the nurse, who had been with her the night she died. “I have tried to talk to them since the beginning, but they have not returned my calls,” he told me, adding he would consider going to court to compel them to recall what they knew if necessary.
He said Howard K. Stern and her close friends had helped immensely, and had no comment on Seminole Police investigators on the trail, asking Bahamian doctors about drugs they’d prescribed for Anna Nicole, to compare with those found in Daniel’s body after he overdosed on a toxic brew of anti depressants and methadone.
Howard, of course, is the curious link in both deaths. It’s unclear where he was when she died, but he was in the room when Daniel sank into unconsciousness and there’s a coronor’s inquest in the Bahamas next month where 30 witnesses have been called, including Stern, to testify about his death.
Sources tell me they have to rule everything out, and to do that they want to get into the two laptops and a hard drive turned over to them by South Carolina authorities who received the property from close Anna Nicole friend, Ford Shelley, who took them, he says, with the starlet’s permission.
For all we know, they may reveal drug receipts, names of doctors, and other secrets that could shed light on her final days, weeks and months. But investigators need to convince a judge that probable cause exists to obtain a search warrant. That’s where these forays to the Bahamas may build enough circumstances to add fuel to fire up a judge and help them unlock the keys to her kingdom of doom.
So while the battle for the body and custody of Dannielynn rages on, follow the drugs and the money…and we’ll see if if good, or evil, lurks in the hearts of Moms and men.
It’s far from over. The body stays in the morgue for now…and it was soooooo close this morning, so close. We’ll be curious to watch how much weight the panel gives to Anna’s wishes to where she wanted to be buried, next to Daniel, and where her mother wants to put her down.

Art: That is big news that Moe and wife are incommunicado when it comes to Dr. Perper but they are all over the media, apparently trying to convince us that their story makes senses.
It doesn’t, no matter how they spin it.
After watching Moe and his wife, the nurse, it is pretty shocking that they took such a circuitous route before calling 911. Moe told Greta Van Susteren he left to do the errands and his wife was with ANS. He said that about 10 minutes after he left, he called his wife to see if ANS was OK. Doesn’t this seem VERY strange??? What condition was she in that he had to call in 10 minutes?
The nurse said on ET! that she found ANS with purple splotches on her face, not breathing. She said she pushed the button on her headset that called the last person to call her, which was Moe. She said she did that because of the time and she could keep on doing CPR rather than taking the time to call 911. BUT, according to Moe, she said quite a lot to him on the phone and during her talking to him, she was certainly not doing CPR. Then Moe, instead of calling 911, called HKS first. Then he called the Hotel and had them call 911; he said he couldn’t call 911 on his cell phone because he was in a different area and 911 would have called a different county. By the time 911 was finally called and they arrived, something like 20-30 minutes had passed.
What is disturbing is that I heard Dr. Perper say, possibly in the early press conference, that the body was warm when the paramedics arrived. Might she have been saved if the wife had called 911 first? There is something not right with the whole saga. Regardless of their story, it is incredible that they did not immediately call 911 and critical minutes slipped away.
Greta asked Moe about the ice baths on Monday night and he said it got the fever down. If the fever was that high and then stayed down just as a result of the ice bath, then it is strange. Ice baths are no longer used because they can put a person into shock but they do not treat the infection causing the high temp.
Greta asked Moe about Khristine Eroshevich who was there with Anna on the night of the ice baths. Khristine is a psychiatrist — a Medical Doctor. Did she approve of the ice baths? Was she also one who got ANS drugs? It sounds like ANS did have an infection when she died but also an overdose of drugs (but not Methadone, according to Dr Wecht).
I think the Feds or the police or whoever is in the Bahamas is tracing the route of the drugs that killed her. Hopefully, there is some good information on the computers!

Within the last few days, I have seen Big Moe on one of the news shows (Greta or Geraldo) say when asked who he thought the father was “Oh no! Oh no! I would never ask her that!” then, on Larry King Live I saw him answer that same question: “Howard is the father”. His story remains the same in every interview, except for that minor change. Now, who is this M.D. he mentioned last night as being Anna’s Psychiatrist who was there as a “friend only” with an M.D. license. Why has this person remained out of the spotlight? Hopefully, someone is interviewing this person along with the Bahamas investigation. Is it normal for Lawyers and Doctors buddy up with their Celebrity Clients/Patients?

Big Moe also states that when he arrived back to Anna’s room he pulled the covers off her and noticed that her lips were blue. Why did he have to pull covers off her if his wife was giving CPR first????

Big Moe has lost track of his statements. I believe he takes instructions from HFS. Have you listened to the long statement made by ANS personal manager. I listened to it on a TMZ post. It goes on for several minutes. He speaks of HFS giving ANS drugs by needle. We have not heard a fraction of what is to come. The baby needs to be brought out of the Bahamas. I heard a report tonight that may be difficult to get the baby from HFS. ET can be blamed in part, if in fact, they did give him 3 million dollars. If HFS flow of money dries up, he won’t be so eager to fee attorneys. Lets hope the investigation in Florida continues.

This man - HKS has made a lot of money in this association with ANS. He must think he deserves everything she owned for 10-12 yrs of “work”. Call me cruel, but I think he is not fit to serve as the Executor of the “Will” - which in and of itself is a joke. He is probably not the father - yet he refuses to take a DNA test to prove or disprove it. He stays in a house that is not his - he stays in a country that is not his - with a baby that is more than likely not his. When is someone going to kick him out of the house and the country? I say, give him a severange package for his time and send him on his way.

Didn’t a woman go to jail for providing drugs to John Belushi? Yes, illegal ones, but if nyone should know the dangers of combination and amounts of drugs it should be a doctor. Seems Khristine Erosovich should definitely be investigated for criminal negligence and malpractice. Hope Larry and Virgie get the baby out of the bahamas and file suit against her and HKS for enabling her to the point she could not parent her children then died!
Each day that child does not have her true family is a travesty and HKS’s sister and brother should know better to go on tv about this - they are not related to the baby, either! Hope Virgie gets damages from them, too!!!!!!

Dear Art,
If Margaret C ever came back here I would tell her that John Belushi was funny, but nowhere, near as lovely as Anna Nicole Smith.
And, that it was probably pretty easy for her to get whatever she wanted from anyone.
Khristine Erosovich more than likely tried her best. IMO

I came back to this website to start reading the first coverage and comments. It certainly sounds like early on, the majority of the comments by readers had negative comments regarding Howard K. Stern.
I am among them.
The common links in Daniel Smith’s death and Anna’s seem to be Stern, Dr. E, and drugs.
It is now early November, 2007, and the same is still true.
When Daniel’s Inquest is complete, we may know more, I hope.
Justice has not been served in this case. I so hope it will be served in the long run!
